Where do I start, booked this hotel through Accor thinking a little bit of luxury, wrong......anything but 4 star a thin foam mattress, fridge that doesn't work, bathroom in need of repair, have to chase the water in the shower and curtains that are filthy. When we complained about the hump in the middle of the bed(the next morning) we were assured it would be fixed or our room changed, no not fixed or our room changed, we have had no sleep and I am really disappointed being an Accor plus member.then to top it off we had an Asian lady knocking on our door after trying to gain entry at 1am. Budapest is a beautiful city and well worth the visit but don't be fooled by Novotel 'city centre' as the centre is a few km away and to be able to enjoy Budapest look for accomodation in town
The main benefit was a such a lovely pool. We used it twice in one night stay. It's not big, but it's great place to relax. The hotel is near the downtown, 3 bus station to Vazi utza. Ask for bus numbers at a reception. It's few steps from shopping mall. I hope that next time we'll stay longer.
We were İnBudapest because of Fina event. We stayed 3 days everything was ok. Reception was very helpful. We used public buses to city center. Bus stop just 2 minutes far away. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is ok.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The hotel is well equipped for conferences. The room was of average size. The staff was not rude, but also not friendly. The location is away from the center (30 min walk), but bus stations are just across the street from the hotel. Breakfast is good. Adjacent to the hotel is a nice shopping mall with good food options, pharmacy, money exchange, and a supermarket, among others.
Hotel is in a great position to enjoy the sights but not too busy. Good accommodation and breakfast was good, but at an extra charge. Some road works at the time of our visit and the busy junction did produce some road noise.
First, for the positives: Great location, a bit further away from the touristy areas but close enough to be able to easily go wherever you want to go. Staff is excellent and always ready to help. Great options at breakfast, everyone and anyone can find something they will enjoy. Nice hotel bar and extensive terrace for when the weather is nice. Rooms are relatively spacious and comfortable. The above make it our preferred hotel when staying in Budapest. Even if the price is somewhat steeper than the equivalents in the area. However, the last few times (and this one was no exception) we stayed we notice that rooms and especially bathrooms are in need of maintenance. Ceilings have yellow water marks, walls are scuffed and tired looking, grouting is black and peeling in places... not the nicest thing to notice.
The room is quite spacious, with sofa that can be converted to an extra bed, which means you can fit in 3 people in one room. Wifi reception and speed is good inside room. Weird thing is that they make the bedroom to be spacious but the bathroom is quite small. The toilet and shower is made as separate room each, and its door cannot be locked. TV inside room is very small, but I don't use it anyway so it's not such a big issue for me. Breakfast selection is plenty, and it tastes delicious.
Room way too small. 2 single beds with long curved study table means no space to roll luggages into the wider lounge space. That was silly. we squeezed the twin beds in order to get enough space to roll the luggage through, but they're limited by the bedside tables fixed to the wall... grrr Shower head was loose so it couldn't angle properly so water would sprayed beyond the bathtub and wet the bathroom floor even with our best efforts to avoid that (annoying!!). Expect that the toilet and bathroom is separate. For the tiny space in the bathroom I'm surprised it comes with a bathtub - seriously too tight. staff got grumpy complaining that all their colleagues are at home resting while there's only 2 of them on night shift so we should expect our requests for toiletries etc to be slow... uh not very professional... But hotel is clean and bright with plenty of tv channels in English and comes with hot water kettle. Within 5mins walk is Mom Park (decent shopping mall and supermarket). Functioning air con which is great for summer! and they have xbox FIFA at the lobby - not that we spent much time there :P
Not particularly happy from the hotel. The rooms are of medium quality. Breakfast was OK but when e.g. croissants, cheese ended, refill took a lot of time. Price was not justifiable for the services. Sorry_
I use to stay almost every 2 weeks for one or two nights in this hotel. Very positive experience, nice friendly staff, good breakfast and by curiosity you can eat Hungarian Gulyás soup in the morning. Rooms are small but clean with comfortable beds and good pillows. If you are tired I recommend to have a massage on affordable price but very professional. I will return for sure!
