The location of this hotel is very good. The hotel is cozy and clean, it depends where you live, but my room was very spacious. The breakfast is nothing special, but enough of everything. The relationship between price and quality is very good. The street is very nice with good restaurants nearby with a famous Gelateria Rosa.
just back from budapest we had a brilliant time and fitted alot in in 5 days will defo be going back stay at central basilica hotel its in a very good position plenty going on around it yet lovley and quiet in the room which ad very good air conditioning too the bed was very comfy the shower was a nice powerfull one and all very clean an staff very friendly and helpfull i think 10am check out is a little early but we managed we had breakfast in hotel it was alright all in all a very good hotel and right next to the basilica lovely photo op
We enjoyed our two nights in Budapest and this hotel is in a great location and had very nice, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff were also very helpful. Breakfast buffet included was good. I loved the area this hotel was in (St. Stephen's Basilica is yards away). It was lively and fun. It was a 10 minute walk from the Danube and 15 minutes tops to the Parliament building. Nice restaurants all around. However I would recommend NOT getting a room in the front of the hotel. Although the view of the Basilica is nice, the noise at night is a little much. It's a real party town! We found the pull down noise deadening shades the second night, and they worked well but made the room a little stuffy because the AC wasn't the best. However I would definitely recommend the hotel. Transportation: We took a shuttle bus from the airport and it was a 30-40 minute scary ride. Our driver was a little crazy. I am still amazed we didn't hit anyone. We came close several times. Could be that's normal for driving in Budapest. There is a subway stop very close to the hotel and Basilica so that is very convenient.
I left my heart in Budapest! Just returned from the most wonderful 3 days here for our wedding anniversary. The hotel was in a superb location, couldn't fault it. 20-30 minutes in a taxi from the airport, 30 minutes walk to train station and 15 minute walk from the all the main tourist attractions, perfectly placed. The area around the hotel is also beautiful, great restaurants and bars and the Basilica is just stunning, especially at night. The hotel itself is very clean and modern. Our room was lovely and of a good size. We were made to feel very welcome with mini bottles of fizz, roses and towels made into hearts for our anniversary. Breakfast was basic but all you needed to set you up for a great day exploring the city. The only niggle we had was that the aircon in our room wasn't very good and it was very hot whilst we were there meant we didn't sleep very well. I cant believe what we got for our money given the price of this hotel is so reasonable. When we return to Budapest we will definitively stay here again.
Friendly staff and room was clean. Walking distance to all attractions . Right beside St Stephen Bacillica. Good location for the price. Only problem is that the heating and air conditioning is centrally controlled. Not enough air flow unless the windows are open. On the first floor that was not the easiest thing to do. The windows are larger than the doors. A
My colleague and me were welcomed very friendly. The rooms are large enough, good beds, good facilities. Breakfast was enough, although I was a bit surprised to enter an empty breakfast room at 9am. Our flight was leaving in the afternoon, but we could do some remote work in the lobby, using the hotel wifi. We enjoyed our stay, but will check if there is a hotel bar for a next visit to Budapest in advance :-)
Lovely welcome, room basic but clean! Such a fab location, near enough opposite saint Stephane's basilica! Slept well, comfy enough bed. Breakfast was basic but nice. If your looking for a nice, basic, budget hotel with an excellent location, this would be perfect. It's got a great location link for the big bus tours. Also would recommend the bus tours! We got engaged while we were in Budapest so I might be biased but we loved it!
I stayed here with my partner for 5 nights. In many respects this was a good choice; very near the St Stephen's Basilica and within easy walking distance of all the major tourist attractions. Our room was on 4th floor and faced the inner courtyard. It was quite spacious as was the en suite bathroom. Like the rest of the hotel it was spotlessly clean. I was somewhat surprised that the bed was only about 15 inches from the floor and that took some getting used to. The lighting in the bedroom too was very dim to the point where mypartner was unable to read and to examine tourist maps I resorted to reading them in the bathroom where conversely the light was excellent. Breakfasts were excellent and there was a very good range of both hot and cold food served buffet style. Without exception the staff were friendly and helpful. I even noticed that on one rainy day stock of umbrellas were laid out in reception for the use of guests. My own personal caveat concerning this hotel was the heating. The heating and air conditioning are controlled centrally and during our stay the average outside temperature was about 9C. Reception, breakfast room and bathroom were fine but the bedroom was ( for both of us) far too hot and airless. I dozed rather than slept each night and literally gulped the cool street air each morning.
The hotel is located across from the Basilica, a must see in Budapest. It is close to the University which makes it a lively part of town. We saw 2 concerts, both very good, at the Basilica and at a small nearby theater. Walk or take the tram all over Budapest. Staff is helpful but somewhat low in knowledge.
Really great choice, value for money. The hotel is located right in the center of Budapest. Just walking distance to everywhere! Chain Bridge, Castle, Basilica (right in front!) , and 2 minutes from transport as metro, tram, bus. The rooms are big and clean, the staff is very polite and helpful.
