A slightly remote hotel from the center of Pest, but it has a pretty hip square with beerstands, shoppingmall and restaurants nearby (3 min walk). We were met with the most serviceminded reseptionist of all time upon our checkin close to midnight. The neighbourhood it self seemed pretty chabby, and the street it self is nothing to brag about, but it's location is really not too bad. The room was slighty tiny, and the bed was abit hard. But we had a nice stay over 3 nights. The continental breakfast and breakfast-area is not really anything to brag about. But it has the absolute most basic stuff of a continental breakfast. No dark break or healthier alternative.
My husband is from a small town and doesn't like to drive in cities. Budapest seemed huge, so he picked a hotel in advance with parking that he thought would be on the fringes of town, but still walkable to the Danube. None of that turned out to be the case. Hard to find, when we did, it turned out the parking was down a block and the gates had to be locked by remote by the desk clerk who, of course, couldn't see you because he was behind the desk. So first we had to talk to him. We had parked on the street and didn't bring our luggage in. He was horrified we hadn't come in with our luggage. We tried to explain that in America we got the key to our room before we brought our luggage in, but he didn't understand. So we said can we park our car in your lot and bring our luggage back? Of course, but I have to open and close the locking gate with my remote he said. He must have the walk to the lot timed, as the metal gates swung open as we approached. However, he didn't have timing down for how long one needed at their car. I had gotten my big bag out and had proceeded to slowly move it along the stone parking lot to the sidewalk when the gates swung closed and locked. My husband was still in the car gathering the GPS and Delorme and was locked in. On the street alone, I was immediately aware of the unsavory men who seemed to appear from nowhere. I tried to hurry to the hotel to have my husband freed, but for some reason the gates swung open again and my husband got out. Later we discovered a white switch on a pole to the right of the doors that would open them if you got locked inside. Once we were both back at the front desk very ready to receive our room key, the upselling began. As we are both in sales, there is nothing we hate more. But he kept on and on and FINALLY we got a key. Our room was ok, but we couldn't wait to get to the river. We went down and asked him and he said it was way too far to walk. So we took a cab. Later, we bought a ticket to a tourist bus for a quick tour of the huge city, and got off at the stop closest to our hotel. Our walk back was through really bad neighborhoods. Walking later to find a dinner hotel was just as creepy, although we finally found a street with outside restaurants that seemed safe. In the morning we confronted the desk clerk with our assessment that the hotel was in a bad area, where could we go that was safe. He told us what directions should be fine. But we had learned our lesson and the second night we researched restaurants right by the enclosed nice mall in the "nice" direction a few blocks away and ate there. Wouldn't recommend this place to friends.
We were travelling with our 1 year old son so our expectations were really high. The Stuff was more than kind, room was clean. We additionally got small bed for our child without asking. The hotel is close to old town and has its own parking. We will come back there for sure.
A great hotel for the price included with a flight package. Very helpful staff who were knowledgeable and saved the day with an umbrella when it rained. A few minutes from the Metro and Tram which are cheap to use and make the whole city easily accessible. Good extensive breakfast with choice and the basement spa was a nice touch.
Lovely hotel, spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast. The spa was lovely after lots of walking around the city. Every member of staff were very polite friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel highly and will have no hesitation returning.
Unfortunately we got locked out from our AirBnb apartment during the night, so we just walked in to have a night over. Very nice receptionist Tomas found the room and checked us in very quickly. In addition to this equipped us with the map and showed some directions. Even thought we just needed a place to sleep, the room (#111) was very nice and modern with a standard European size. It didn't have any side windows, however we didn't care at all about the view. The breakfast was also included in the price and was surprisingly very rich and good for a 3 star hotel. The location wasn't perfect if you are looking for a stay in downtown, however it is very quiet and reachable to the downtown by 15-20 walk or public transport. This hotel would probably be perfect for business travelers. It even had a fitness area, however we didn't have time to visit it :) Overall the experience was perfect, even though was short and wasn't planned!!
It is a lovely hotel , friendly personal, clean, good breakfast. It is located close to subway in the peaceful area. I liked sauna and SPA facolytes. You can take champagne for breakfast if you want. Strongly recommended
A comfortable place, with neat facilities and delicious breakfast. The staff, as other reviewers have mentioned, is just amazing. If you need anything, from tips in the city to fixing issues, you won't be disappointed. About the location, I don't consider it central enough, but I'm the kind of traveller who likes to go back to my room during the day to rest, or to drop bags, or change clothes, whatever. In that case, it was a bit bothersome to depend on transit. To be fair, the transit system in Budapest is really efficient. I bought the 72-hour transit pass, and used it every day.
I traveled with my girlfriend to Budapest in April 17 and we booked to Bo18 Hotel Superior mostly because of his price and Facilities. When we got there it was raining and very cold, so we were thankful for the quick cheak-in and the clean and warm room. throughout the entire stay the service was good and the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel have a small and cozy gym, jacuzzi, and sauna. worth the price and good location nearby a Metro station.
Very good hotel. Not so close to the city center but with a metro and bus stop close. Reception, cleaning and hotel services are very good. Eccelent breakfast. Wi fi doesn't work well, at least in my floor (third one).
