I couldn’t use A/C in hotel despite a very warm night. When I re- mentioned this to staff in the morning, they explained that heating / AC in some rooms were wired incorrectly - saying to push temp up to get cool- and down to get warm (I was shown a picture in one room indicating this. No sign in my room!). Anyway, I followed those instructions the next morning and temp went up to 85 degrees.
I asked to speak to the manager, and was told she was off that day. I left my number (along with my problem) and requested that she call me. After not receiving the requested call, I tried to contact her directly. No one picked up at the local hotel number. I reached out to La Quinta corporate who was ultimately able to connect me to the manager. The manager was less than helpful, indicating she’d refund my $25 per fee but couldn’t help me otherwise since I paid through Orbitz. She didn’t refund my pet fee; and when I reached out through Orbitz- Orbitz similarly was refused any satisfaction from the hotel.
The hotel stay was uncomfortable due to the heat, but the unsympathetic and surly attitude of the manager is ultimately why I’m writing this negative review.
