A beautiful old decor apartment complex. Fascinating lift with all the old decor but you don't have to crank the handle. Stayed there twice now. Had 2 different style rooms but nicely set out. Each day a gift basket with cereal, bread, milk, tea, coffee, butter and juice was placed in the fridge. You can book car parking. Near Central Brisbane station too
I loved the look of the hotel and that it was a heritage location. Good amenities and spacious rooms. Close to Central station and the shopping centres. The staff are friendly and helpful. Quiet location.
My husband and I have just spent a delightful 3 nights at this lovely heritage hotel, celebrating our birthdays and wedding anniversary all on the same day. The apartment was spacious, the staff the most friendly and helpful we have experienced for some time and the breakfast an added bonus. The apartment was clean, bed very comfortable, furnished in heritage style and we loved the period lifts. Stepping back in time with the comforts of today. Central Station is so close and the Mall is just a short walk away. Loved our time here. Highly recommend staying here. Thanks Val
I stayed here 2 nights in room 604. It is a charming hotel converted from an old building. The location is fantastic, close to CBD, cafes, restaurants and shopping malls. Also close to public transport & Queen Street Bus Station. It is walking distance (about 15mins) to South Bank & Art Gallery. The hotel is about 2 mins walk from Central Station so you can get to the hotel by Airtrain ( take approx. 30 mins) from the Domestic & International airports. The room was spacious, clean & very quiet, with a separate lounge room, well equipped kitchette, microwave, small fridge, iron & ironing board & washing machine. Two good size built in wardrobes. There were 2 TVs, one in the lounge & one in the bedroom. They also supply a continental breakfast each day delivered to your room. Free Wifi with excellent reception. All staff are friendly & helpful with questions. One small drawback is they don’t service your room daily. Car parking spaces are limited & you need to book ahead for a car space & you have to pay an extra $23/day.
I've stayed for 3 nights over the weekend here. Although is an older style hotel but it's still well maintain. The receptionist is friendly. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is close to central train station and convention centre which is perfect for me. It's also easy to find food in the area. The free breakfast is a small basket consist of 2 slices of bread, small box cereal, butter, jam or peanut butter, milk and orange juice. The only thing lacking is there is no daily housekeeping for the 3 days staying in there. Overall is quite a good hotel with a reasonable price.
we stayed 5 nights in a room that was not what was advertised. in the booking it said a refurbished room, the first thing we noticed was the handle from the closet was missing. that night when we went to close the blinds in the bedroom, they were broken and would not close. We reported these 2 issues the next day and were told that the maimtenance person would be up soon to fix the problems or early the next morning, They never showed. We figured that as these simple problems could not be fixed, why report the rest of the problems. These included broken tiles, a lot of mould in the shower, broken drain in the shower with a sharp edge and no cleaning equipment in the apartment. When we wrote an email to pass on our feedback to GM blamed us for most of the problems and not the staff
This hotel is in the city in a handy location. Close to shops and Central Train Station. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. This is an older style hotel (built in the early 1900's). Our one bedroom apartment (608) was spacious and included cooking and washing facilities. The bed was very comfortable and the shower excellent. There was only a view of building tops. This apartment could do with a refurbish and a larger tv. Also, the breakfast pack in the fridge is very basic - could do with some jam for the toast. We found the aircon rather noisy. The parking is a bit tight and they charge $23 per night. Overall, it was ok for an overnight stay but I wouldn't want to spend a long time there.
The hotel staff are very helpful and the situation of the hotel is great for doing business in Brisbane. Downstairs is a great cafe open for meals breakfast and lunch. Rooms and hotel is art deco and the owners have left much of this lovely art work to be enjoyed.
Lovely old hotel that had some wonderful features. Great location - not far from the Brisbane River, Central Station and the main shopping area of Brisbane. Rooms are good size, clean, a little dated but ok. Staff were friendly and helpful. I thought the 2 night stay was good value. Would definitely book again should we return to Brisbane.
I really liked the apartment we stayed in. It was well equipped with everything you need. Staff were very nice and helpful. I loved the breakfast basket, it was a very nice touch. We arrived to the hotel at 7.15pm on the Friday to find they were already closed. Contacting them and getting in took some time and it was quite frustrating after a 13 hour drive. You get one key, two would be better. We stayed for 6 nights and had a car park allocated for us. The car parking needs improvement as it does not work. There is double parks where you can be blocked in by someone and have to get their car moved (which is ok during staffed hours). There is mimimum turning space and it takes a lot of manoeuvring around to get in and out of a space. I scratched my car on a post getting too close to it while trying to get out on the last day. There was no maid service during our stay so we had the same towel for the week. I am sure they would only be too happy to change it if you asked as they were very helpful. Was disappointed that the roof was closed so I did not get to use the spa that I was looking forward to. I would stay again, only without a car though, I would never park there again.
