We booked in here for four nights over Easter 2018 and greatly enjoyed it. The location is outstanding and Brisbane is great. While only on the 3rd floor, there was very little noise and overall our room was quiet and could be made dark when we wanted to sleep in. The staff were friendly and helpful and there were free newspapers in the lobby. This is a small and quaint hotel and we loved the architecture and lifts. The room was a reasonable size and the bed great. A washer-drier was a great addition. The small breakfast basket either needs serious improvement (the rooms have a kitchenette) or removing. Reception hours are quite limited, but we did not need to contact them as we know the area well. We have booked in here for a week next month and are looking forward to it. Location, Location, Location.
I was silly not reading TripAdvisor reviews before booking. The free breakfast is a prepared basket with no choice of juice, milk, bread, condiments etc. The tea bags are not sealed and opened due to age. My room 506 looks nothing like any of the photos with the furniture tired and dated. The shower screen is rusted and grout disgusting. Several slats in the blinds are missing and the air conditioning is very noisy. Oh and no rubbish bin in the kitchen. Beautiful building with a fantastic bed though.
Booked for a long weekend and the accommodation was lovely. Lounge, kitchen and bathroom including a washer/dryer. Clean and well furnished. Reception staff are more than helpful. Very well positioned for the CBD with Central Station just up the road. Only a few car parking spaces which are an extra charge so book your space. Would certainly use this boutique hotel again. Good cafe next door for coffee through to evening meal.
Stayed here for three nights and were very impressed. Good size apartment with lounge/kitchenette area, perfectly functional bedroom and a bathroom with the biggest sink you've ever seen! Only tiny gripe would be that the blinds didn't keep too much light out so we were awake early most mornings. Side note - after hours check in (after 6pm) was a breeze - simply involved calling from a phone in the lobby, getting a code for the safe in order to access the room key.
We stayed in an apartment which was huge. Beds are super comfy and heaps of space. A bonus was the breakfast basket. Would stay here again. The only downfall is there is not much signage so a little bit hard to find. Great customer service.
1 bed apartment on the 3rd floor with a kitchenette and laundry. minimal breakfast provisions supplied but was satisfactory. Very comfortable bed although being an older building we had difficulty in adjusting the A/C (couldn't be done). Had to pay for the WiFi so we used our mobiles. Very handy to Central station if using that means of transport.
A very comfortable 4 days in a very convenient location. Great & obliging staff were very helpful with valet parking, papers, meals, directions, room service & servicing. A short 3 minute walk to Queen Street Mall & the river. Plenty of bars & eateries nearby. Apartment suites were spacious & family sized. Continental breakfast was also included, as was daily paper. A very enjoyable stay!
We stayed at the Rothbury in a one bedroom apartment for a week. The room was spacious and well appointed. The continental breakfast provided each day was unexpected and appreciated. The location of the Rothbury is fabulously close to shops, Anzac Square & the wharf area. Staff directed us to the bus stop for a trip up Mount Coot-tha which was well worth the trip for the view & bushwalking trails. My only complaint would be that the room smelt rather musty & stale. Having the windows open or the air conditioning on didn't seem to improve the smell.
Stayed one night before Lady Elliott & another on way back to Sydney. Easy couple block walk from train station. Super location for exploring all over downtown, both sides of river. Staff kept a bag for us while we were traveling & were very kind, friendly. Room had tons of space and would be very comfortable for extended stay with kitchen facilities and clothes washer. Well worth the money.
We arrived in the early evening hours. Because the reception already was closed we received our keys by call center instructions. Once we entered the apartment we started to smell mold that we then found in the bathroom. When we decided to turn down the AC as the room was chilled we were forwarded to a call center who was not able to handle our request properly. The next day we found out that the owner of this apartment unit was living next door and we shared one AC system. When we complaint we only were given the choice of an apartment without AC. Preferring heat over chill we accepted. There was no gesture of apologies from the staff and manager. The so called continental breakfast that was included in our booking turned out to be a basket with 2 slices of toast, a package of cereals, a butter and jam in plastic packed in the refrigerator of the apartment.
