They charged my cc for 50$ to be returned after 4 days from check out (very bad), deposit was returned . Room 106 was nice , bed was comfortable ,balcony was very good, minibar makes continues noise and freezes everything. TV with sky channels Bathroom light not adequate for shaving. Good location but a bit steep near everything about, 700m from greyhound and ,about 400m from 7/11 and liquor store. Staff are good, but please remember that you can smile.  Stayed for 2 nights from 26 to 28 of May.

Clean, convenient location. A good value. A good bar. Breakfast service needs to be improved

I found the staff at Diamant Hotel to be very helpful going beyond what I would have expected. Parking is the biggest issue however this is typical of the area and any big city, you will need to either pay for a parking garage or get lucky like I did and grab one of the very few street parking spots. I chose this hotel for its general location and was great for the weekend stay. I didn't actaully use all the amenities.

Reviewers have noted that the rooms at The Portal are quite small. I upgraded to a Prestige King and did fine by myself. It would have been hard to share the room with a second person unless we were REALLY compatible. Other reviewers have accurately pointed out that the bathroom is poorly lit. I took a hand mirror along and put on my makeup by daylight by standing near the patio door. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly, also as noted by others. The best thing about this room was that it was so quiet! I heard nothing from any other rooms and did not hear the elevator even though my room was adjacent to the shaft. Two things annoyed me: 1. The closet had a refrigerator in it, so clothes that were hanging did not have adequate room to hang straight. Instead, longer skirts and jackets laid on the top of the refrigerator. (And there were no drawers.) 2. The shower smelled like cat urine, apparently coming from the drain. On some days the smell wafted throughout the room. I am 50-50 about whether I would stay here again.

Good central location within walking distance of the central station. Friendly but useless staff. Lovely Eagle street pier was easily within walking distance and they didn't mention it. Miniscule room for the price. Mattress was shot. HVAC did not work. Look elsewhere

The overall stay was good , but the rooms were extremly small ! They didnt even have a simple thing like a CHAIR in the room ! Try reading the paper or watching TV propped up on the pillow all night ! Wont be going back there again !! ALAN. ...

Great boutique hotel I choose that was close to the center of town and bus line. Small room but very modern and updated conveniences.

This hotel is in a nice location about two blocks from the train station and about six blocks from the gueen street mall, There are several places in the area to eat including at the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were on the smaller sde but we only stayed two nights so it wasn't a problem. The airport shuttle will stop right at the front door($15pp one way). I would certainly stay at this hotel again

Great hotel located walking distance to CBD, Fortitude Valley and transportation center on Roma Street. Satff were very helpful and the room met all my needs.

staff was helpfull and pleasant rooms were clean close to train statiion

Hotel was great. It was pretty close to the Queen Street Mall, and the Romano and Central train stations. The staff were very friendly and were always willing to help. The room were very nice and clean, but the view from the rooms isn't that great. This hotel is not for people who are looking for a great view, it is for those who need a nice place to stay while in the city.

great quiet location/ however agreed price was not honored by Hotel. We were forced to extra $30 per night for bed selection even though selection was quoted on [...] reservation

Good location close to city within a nice walking distance in all directions

A friend and I were in Brisbane for the start of our three week tour of Australia. The staff at the Portal were very friendly and accommodating. The room with twin beds was very small for two people with luggage (the smallest room we stayed in the entire trip). We were only in Brisbane a couple of nights and there to see the city, so didn't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. We found it to be within walking distance of all the sites we wanted to see (Queen Street Mall/CBD, South Bank, gardens/parks).

Hotel is very close to Central Station and Queen Street Pedestrian Mall. Security is good. You need a room key to go up the elevator. Their only laundry service is pick-up and delivery, so we had to carry our laundry a mile to find a launderette to wash our clothes.

Excellent location and great price. The hotel is easily within walking distance from Chinatown on one side and the downtown Brisbane area on the other side. And, if you're looking for some quiet, away from the bustling city, while it's still within walking distance of all of the attractions, its far enough away so that you don't have to hear all of the noise. Also, the interior is all new and modern. The rooms are crisp and clean. Though, if you wish for your linens to be cleaned daily, you will need to take them off the bed and leave them on the floor.

Brand new hotel! Very clean, nice bar/restaurant...great chef who cooks an amazing breakfast. Rooms are a little small..but not as small as some I've been in...New York or Chicago. I would definitely stay at the hotel again!

brand new hotel, super quiet rooms and comfortable beds, amazingly friendly staff and great restaurant. walk to everything in town, about 5 minute walk to central rail station, 15 minutes to hip fortitude valley or 15 minutes to river shopping district.

Great Hotel! Classy and quiet easy access to Brisbane.

Staff and room were well above average.
