The rooms are large and somewhat overfurnished but are well presented. The placement of hanging space and shelf space is not easily identified. I stayed several days to attend a conference. My room had a good view down river towards Moreton Bay. The noise from Kingsford Smith Drive can be disturbing but this varies from hour to hour according to the traffic. Daily servicing of the room was somewhat hit and miss and not always at the level this class of hotel aspires to; a class reflected in its room rates. Due to transport demands my departure was at a very early hour.. Staff were helpful in booking a taxi and then following up when it did not arrive on time. The hotel name and public signage is confusing. The absence of hot water for a shower in the early hours of the morning and late the previous night was not an acceptable situation. A luke-cold shower became essential as I would be spending the day in close company with a lot of people.
The hotel is certainly not a standout. Though everything was functional, it was quite tired. The breakfast was average as well. Would I stay there again... sure as it is on the list of my company’s preferred hotel. Would I spend my own money and stay for leisure...No!
As a regular visitor, I can say that the Brisbane RiverView Hotel, is making a comeback. They have upgraded their Gym facilities, and are in the midst of upgrading their pool. The staff at the hotel, are wonderful as always, and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. It is obvious that the RiverView is starting to undergo renovations, and these will be welcome to regular visitors.
Two seperate stays over the course of a week broken with s trip to Townsville. Friendly staff and fresh clean room. The only issue was a very sluggish TV system that seemed to take forever to change channels. If that’s the worse thing about a stay, then that’s not bad.
I stayed at the Riverview recently whilst visiting Brisbane on business. The location excellent for me as I was visiting a company in the NE suburbs, so staying outside the CBD was an advantage. I've stayed there on a number of occasions over the years and the name has changed since my last visit. The hotel is starting to look a little tired decor-wise, but it is still well maintained and clean. You can almost describe some of the decor as quaint compared to the very new hotels. The staff at reception were very professional and friendly and the room and bathroom facilities were very good. The breakfast was absolutely stunning with an amazing selection of items; it couldn't be faulted at all. The only negative aspects for me were the mattress which was too soft and saggy on both sides (it clearly needed replacing) and there was some plumbing noise which was a little disconcerting. In summary, a very good experience overall and I can highly recommend the Riverview for a stay if you want to be just outside the CBD.
Stayed only one night, unfortunately, but the experience was excellent! Must visit again! Check in went well and smoothly with pleasant staff. Drinks had at both Plates Cafe Bar and Chester's Bar were very pleasant and enjoyable. Nice staff on duty. Nice atmosphere and surrounds. Windy and cooler day so did not get to enjoy the resort pool, unfortunately...not hot enough for us Queenslanders!!! Sooks!, eh? Both myself and husband enjoyed our meals at the Plates Cafe Bar and Restaurant that evening with great service and lovely, well presented food. Enjoyed, immensely. Thank you, staff. Room was immaculately presented and oh! so clean....thank you once again! View was great, too, even with the road works outside..they did not affect us nor the traffic noises. Breakfast was comprehensive, very well presented and maintained during the morning and mostly....enjoyable! THANKS, once more. Very enjoyable stay!
The staff were fantastic, the check in experience good and the room was well presented We upgraded to a river view not realizing that yes there is a view of the river but it is the hotel - a very busy freeway and then the river The noise of the trucks compression brakes at night was dreadful There was road works outside so that kept us up The bathroom is well appointed but the toilet is adjacent to the shower and there is no extractor fan The soap was the smallest I have ever seen Free wifi was sketchy at times This was a disappointing experience as the pool was fabulous, the free parking was a plus but the position was difficult We struggled to find the hotel and drove past twice. The sign outside says VIEW not RiverView. Very misleading
Stayed at this hotel for a conference. Food served during the dinner at the conference was very good. Staff are friendly too. We got a spacious room with view of the river. Clean and tidy overall. Comfortable large beds, TV with foxtel, and the bath was big. Didn't get to enjoy the room itself as this was booked for a business trip.
Could not access the WIFI despite attempts by the front desk. Coffee machine did not work. Booking through HotelsOne.com allows you to select a smoking room but it is a non-smoking hotel. Location was not the best - not much in the immediate vicinity within walking distance. Traffic in the area disrupted with all the roadworks currently underway. Staff were very good.
we went on a sat night and although pouring rain, it was a lovely stay. the rooms were so delightful, fresh apples outside the lifts on every floor....a lovely touch. the concierge was so helpful as was the front desk. be going again.
