Very well situated opposite the Transit Centre, especially when you have to catch an early train. The unit has a lounge with fully equipped kitchen, although the microwave did not work. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Washing machine and dryer located in bathroom which leaves it a bit cramped. The apartment overall is dated and very much showing its age and needs a full refurbishment. We were located on the 4th floor overlooking the transit Centre and we found it very noisy all evening and then the street cleaning machines woke us up at 4am, luckily we wanted to be up at 4:30am, sure did not need an alarm clock. After that the early morning traffic was very clear. No wifi in the room. Shower has plenty of strong hot water.
On the plus side, this is a really handy location. Easy access to Roma Street Transit Centre, 10 mins walk to city centre and easy access to Southbank. The apartment was roomy, bathroom quite good and bed comfortable. The kitchenette is very basic - small microwave, hotplate and very limited crockery and utensils. Poorly lit and a bit tatty. We arrived late Saturday night (in the rain) having been told we couldn't get a parking space until Sunday "but there is plenty of street parking on weekends". No there isn't. We probably should have just gone to the parking station at the transit centre. The staff member on reception Sunday morning kindly allowed us to park in the loading area on Sunday until we could get into the carpark. Also we believe that these days if a hotel advertises free wifi but it's only in the foyer, this should be clear. We would stay here again - it's good value for money - but we would know what to expect.
Guys BEWARE of this accommodation. This is my third stay here but it's been at least two years since my last stay and needless to say it's changed. 1. Came down to find out car ransacked in secure parking AFTER paying extra for parking and was asked not to call police until the manager could come and see me at 3pm. He never showed up and was told he won't be contacting me and just to go to the police. It's very dodgy. My daughters iPad is gone and my sunnies plus they broke indicator switches off and damaged stereo and charger port and tipped food everywhere. Car park fee not refunded which is disgusting. 2. the shower is so touchy if you move it a mm in the wrong direction you will be scolded. Let alone the mould and broken taps. Pics attached. 3. The spa/hot tub is broken & staff say it isn't but refuse to assist in turning it on (ONLY BOOKED here for the hot tub). Started on 30degrees and keeps dropping and staff say this is the normal temp, YET sign on the spa says please don't change from 38degrees 4. Our view is a lower level in the same building which obviously used to be a BBQ area thats been forgotten and is mouldy with broken plants and rubbish. 5. Room next to us has had a raging party with drugs and the smell has drifted over so we can't sit on our balcony and staff advised they can't do anything. So if your looking to party and over crowd a room this is the place for you. Plus no reception after 7pm so even if they're is a complaint no ones on site. 6. Just as I'm writing this two men in the street screaming and fighting on the street and one guy pegged a beer can at the other dudes head 😂 7. After all mentioned kids and I braved heading out for dinner to come back and find that someone had entered our room and stolen my sons phone. I dont know if it was staff or party goers but after I approached staff and room next door I called police and waited in reception to return to my room and find the phone on the ground outside my door. They scratched the screen by trying to push it under the door but didn't fit. I don't know who stole it but another horrible experience. 8. Then finally go to bed and there was a random loud beep every 90seconds that was loud all night. No staff on premises to assist (not that they would help they have been USELESS) made for a very bad sleep. For very average accommodation (when at the same price you can book the Meriton which is just around the corner) the staff are below average and the hotel is deplorable. So disappointing after organising this trip with my kids for so long. The staff refused a parking refund and were not helpful and did not even care. The language barrier was difficult but staff kept using that as an excuse for refusing to help with any issue. I've NEVER left a bad review and stayed at some shorty places but I'm going to post this on every travel website I'm a member of and you guys know that is ALOT!
To suggest the receptionist was incompetent would be an insult to incompetent people all over the world. She was only interested in my credit card, she attempted to charge me for a room I had already paid. The swipe cards didn't work I had to go back to miss happy at reception and have them fixed. The room was grubby the shower head was broken and hanging on by a small piece of metal. Very poor service poor quality only interested in grabbing your credit card and running though the machine. I traveled up for the football and thought this place would be good given its close to the football ground.
Had to stay in Brisbane for 1 night close to Roma St Station and Abbey on Roma was perfect, it was only 30seconds walk to the station and the rooms all thought not flash or fancy, it was comfortable and well set out with a small kitchen with microwave, washer and dryer TV with a stereo system, small balcony and AC, it would have been nice to have a room up the top more but as it was for only 1 night it was perfect.
I have stayed here on numerous occasions and it has always been excellent value for money and being across the road from the transit center is great. Rooms are large with seperate bedroom and bathroom, also small kitchen and washing machine and dryer. Short walk to Queen street mall. Great breakfast place next door.
Worst stay and service I have ever experienced in my life. I injured myself in one of the rooms as I was sitting on a chair which broke from under me and I fell back and smashed my head against the wall behind me. i had to have physio for my injuries and they are now telling me they have no insurance at all to cover injuries within your room, apparenlty suncorp wont cover that type of incident as it was in a room not in a common area. If i had of injured myself in a common area I would of been covered I've just been told by the General Manager Peter. I have paid out $600 for physio which they are now refusing to pay so it will be filling out a personal injuries claim form to get reimbursement for injuries sustained while staying in one of their rooms, so don't hurt yourself while staying there as they will be of no help whatsoever . Very rude and unhelpful
This was my 2nd time staying in this property. Front desk staffs were very friendly and helpful. Great location and great value for my wallet. My wife and I will be back for sure!! The only thing that bothered me was that they do not have wifi in the room.
If you are a frequent flyer or prefer short walks in the CBD, this is the perfect place for you to stay in Brisbane. Stayed with my family on vacation and we were very fond of whatever it had to offer at the premises, great location, good customer service and beautiful decoration of the room.
