Casa de las Dos Palmas

The house is amazingly situated, with fantastic views and access of the lake and in easy driving distance from Guatapé, Peñol and Piedro de Peñol. But, once you are at the house, you may never want to leave! Enjoy your meals on the large deck, BBQ on the built in grill, drinks on the upper deck. At dusk receive a visit from our resident Barranquero . Hikers will find a path steps from the house that will take you across a bridge to explore untouched areas. Or, just nap in a hammock!


*** THE SPACE ***
The house has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

The upstairs master bedroom is accessed by outdoor stairs. It has a large king and pull out double sleeper sofa, private deck with an amazing view and bathroom.

The main floor has 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed and can access the hall bath. The other main floor bedroom has a bunk with a double on the bottom and a single on top. There is also a floor mattress available that rolls away under the bunk. There is a separate twin bed and a separate double bed. This bunk room has a private bathroom.

The house most comfortably can sleep 9. There is some space for more-as described above- especially if you have children in the group or people who don’t mind more shared sleeping spaces. We recommend nine with a max of 11. There are additional fees for each person after 6 people.

The kitchen should meet most of your light cooking needs and there is a fantastic built in BBQ on the deck. Please bring in your water and BBQ coal.

The house has direct access to the lake; the lake is is swimmable but does get quite deep! Due to the constantly changing water levels, the beach front and ease of access can vary.

There is a washing machine, a microwave, coffee maker and blender. Smart TV's are available for you to sign-in to your accounts!

The location and the house is a bit rustic. It is an older finca surrounded by other fincas. At times our guests may encounter local animals (cows, chickens and the like) that may roam on to the property.

The road to the property is unpaved and while most of the time any car can easily access the property, in persons of excessive rainfall a car with higher clearance would be preferred.

It is possible to rent a kayak or stand up paddle board for your stay. They are about $30 USD/day for the rental. Please let us know upon booking if you are interested and for how long!

*Pets*
We would love to try to accommodate guests with pets! There is a 140.000 COP(roughly 35$ USD) pet fee and it must be discussed when making your reservation!

*Kayak/Paddleboard*
We would like to let you know that there is a kayak and a stand up paddle board available for rental on the property. To reserve just let us know before hand how many days you would like to rent. Kayak 30$/100.000 cop per day Paddle board 20$/70.000 cop per day


*Check-In Property Manager*
Once you have booked, you will receive the name and number of the property manager. You must contact him/her to make arrangements for your check in.

The local property manager does not live on site and check in must be coordinated. Our check in times are 3 PM to 9 PM. Anytime later than that WILL incur an additional fee. Please coordinate with our local property manager in advance.

The view is amazing! The cabin is a little old looking compared to the pictures online, but the view is definitely made for people who want to take wonderful pictures:) Make sure to bring a jacket or sweater and mosquito repellent. The road going into the cabin is horrible; a high car or like a jeep is preferable when driving on that dirt road with lots and lots of differentiated rocks. We enjoyed our stay and it's a great location to visit small towns in the Antioquia area!

Our stay was amazing from beginning to end. Fernando was a great host and help us with anything we needed during our stay, from taking us to the market, giving us directions to get around, restaurants and everything that was near the house.The house is not luxurious but is so cute, comfortable we had everything we needed. The views from the house were breathtaking so much beauty all around. The house was just perfect for our group. We definitely will rent it again if we go back to that area.

Great experience in guatape area very authentic comfortable with extremely friendly locals that helped along the way. Host was great and the property was magic. Road down to house is a little tricky and rough but nothing we couldn’t handle.
