The Rheinlust offers the perfect location for exploring the beautiful town of Boppard. The balcony rooms overlooking the Rhein cannot be beat. The only drawback is the noise from trains and ships but it’s to be expected when you stay that close to the river. The rooms and hotel in general are a bit dated but are clean and comfortable. The customer service is good. The breakfast service is excellent with many good choices.
Great hotel Fabulous location and excellent food with the buffet option allowing a great choice. Restaurant staff very friendly but reception not very welcoming . Busy maybe tired? First class accommodation though.
Very friendly staff, but it doesn’t matter how friendly you are if everything smells like smoke. We called 4 hotels on our way to boosts. Hotel Lillie, Eberton, Rheinhotel en rheinlust. Eberton didn’t even pick up the phone. Called back because I thought it was the phone. Hung up on us 3 times after a waiting music! Anyways: rheinlust looks at the river Rhein. Nice view. Family Bedroom was noisy. We could hear the neighbors. Instead of the promised sirvo, there was a ventilator. And to top it all: everything smelled like cigarette smoke. Every time I turned in bed, I could smell it. It was awful. Short night for people who don’t like cigarettes.
Unless you love to time travel back to the 1970, then stay away from this hotel. The beds were a disaster - the double bed was hard as if you were laying on two towels on the floor. The extra bed for the kids was tilting. Everything was really awful. However, the receptionist was really kind and the hotel was well situated for a beautiful walk beside the Rhien.
I stayed here for four nights with my school. The hotel is in a great location, right on the river Rhein with a very short walk into Boppard village where there are many shops and cafes. We arrived in the evening on a Monday and went to our rooms. I was in a room of 4 and it seemed like they had put two extra beds into a twin room. There was still enough space, some rooms had desks in and some in another block had bunk beds. Nothing special about the room or bathroom. The food was varying. The first night we were ready for a good meal after a long coach journey. There were many trays of food dishes however the only one appealing for most children was spaghetti bolognese ... can’t go wrong with that? Just in the tray the spaghetti was swimming in butter/oil. It didn’t smell particularly appealing but the mince made it alright. Other nights we had chicken nuggets with noodles and red sauce, potato wedges and plain pasta. Often there were fresh fruits but the other desserts didn’t appeal to me. Breakfast was better however. There were lots of different breads with a toaster as well as hot drinks machines. There weren’t any hot foods but there were cold meats such as sliced turkey or ham. Plus fruit salad and a variety of fresh jams and butter. We made our lunch here and also had a piece of fruit, Capri sun and chocolate bar. Overall the hotel wasn’t awful but not amazing either.
Stayed 3 days in this area. Boppard good home spot for ferry rides, visit to Burg Eltz, and visit to Mosel. Room basic but clean and everything you need. Breakfast good. Short walk to city center. No trains to upset sleeping.
This is a large hotel with lots of small rooms. I was lucky in that my room faced out towards the river. However my colleagues room was dark and faced inwards representing a small cell. Given its popularity with the tour groups the dining experience can only be best described as a feeding frenzy. Either get in early before the masses arrive or get there late once they've all gone. I would recommend the former. The room was small, but clean. The single bed ridiculously small. A group of Chinese tourists arrived at midnight which was chaos and a couple even tried to gain entry into my room which made for an interesting experience. Not sure I would return.
We stayed at the Rheinlust hotel last fall. Overall it was a nice hotel, nice staff and everything. Large buffet dinner and lots of different foods to try. The only reason I am giving it lower stars is because my friend's bed was against the heater so she was VERY hot while she slept. Also our room looked directly into another person's room in the next building which made me feel less secure about my privacy. The room itself was nice just very small and, again, one bed was against a heater. Also, there was a random table of glasses near my bed which I knocked over when I got up and the hotel's receptionist "cleaned" it up but barely. He swept up a few pieces and left the rest on the floor. But it was only a one night stay so, it was nice.
I liked Boppard better than any of the other towns along the Rhine, and the hotel rheinlust was in a great location, downtown and right on the water. The place was clean, easy to find and easy to navigate. Our room came with breakfast, which was a nice buffet. We stayed in the family room with three people. It consisted of two single beds pushed together and a second double bed. The beds were comfortable. No complaints. Everything was nice.
Clean and comfortable room and bedroom. Our room on the 4th floor had no balcony or view and the window nearly fell out of the window frame. No frills attached but otherwise very practical. Buffet Breakfast and Dinner was adequate.
