My wife and I stayed at Hotel Aemelia while visiting Bologna Dec 26-27. The hotel is a new, modern facility. It seemed to be geared toward travelling businesspeople. The design was modern, clean, and functional. The staff were all very professional, efficient, and genuinely friendly. The most fun I had there was hanging out at the bar with the bar manager, Michele (a.k.a Michael or Mikhail). He was a sharp young man who, like his colleagues, was also friendly, efficient, and also knowledgeable about mixology. Besides being a bar manager, Michele also knows a lot about the auto detailing business - both the technical and business ends of it. What I thought was going to be a quick drink before sleep turned into several more drinks and an enjoyable conversation about cars, life, future plans, etc.
This is an excellent hotel. Clean modern with lovely staff. A short walk from the centre of Bologna. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our room was upgraded. Had an evening meal which was lovely and breakfast was excellent
Just got back from staying 3 nights here. The hotel itself is very nice, the staff are great, breakfast was good, exactly the same every day, the restaurant was very good indeed, best risotto ever. I thought the bar was too expensive. The light switches are a bit annoying, fumbling about trying to switch them on as the middle part where you expect the switch is just decoration, especially in the bathroom. The bathroom was big and clean and fine, the bed was comfortable. The tv worked well, but they could get a few more English channels other than CNN and RT. It was very cold so the roof terrace was just for a quick visit to look at the views. The location is probably more a 25 minute walk into town than 15 as others say and through an area you wouldn't want to be too late walking around in. There are arched walkways everywhere in the old town so an umbrella is not really required. Carrefour express is very near the hotel. The taxi from the airport to the hotel was 20 euros (6 euros each by bus so no point really as you would have to take a taxi from the bus station anyway), the taxi to the airport was 12 euros. I recommend this hotel, it's good.
Excellent hotel, cant recommend it highly enough! The rooms, beds and bathrooms are very large. The levels of cleanliness are exceptional in both bedrooms and public areas. All of the staff from reception desk, cleaning staff through to restaurant staff are extremely courteous, friendly and professional...all offering that little bit extra. The reception staff were only too pleased to offer suggestions for visits, transport etc etc. The staff in the breakfast room were always friendly and polite...stopping to chat, keen to help. The choice of food and drinks at breakfast was excellent with both hot food, pastries/breads, cereals, fruit, yoghurts, cheeses, meats and salad, juices....and plentiful. Nice open restaurant to eat breakfast with plenty of seating. The hotel is easy to get to...even walking from central station with luggage......and only a 10 minute walk into town centre...most of which is under covered porticos ...so even if weather is not good...it is not a problem. Such a great city, a real working /student city....not too touristy...great architecture, fantastic food and drink, great shops...especially the foodie ones...and just a brilliant atmosphere/buzz to the place. Train facilities from Bologna are excellent...so easy to get to other cities like Florence ......will definitely be back.
We have stayed at this hotel on two occasions. The first time was at the end of 2014 and we came back again this year. We are happy to report that the hotel has maintained its own high standards. Primarily because the staff are all committed to ensuring that its guests have a comfortable stay. I would also say they recruit some trainee hotel managers from across Europe and they obviously pick well. If you are not sure about something (a restaurant or directions) just ask and they will give you good, unbiased advice and make any bookings for you. The rooms are well appointed, with very comfortable beds - and the double beds are simply enormous. It is a quiet hotel and so sleep comes easily. There is also a roof garden (not open in December when we visited!). Breakfast offers a multitude of choices and is extremely good. It runs until 10am on weekdays and to 10.30am over the weekends. We have stayed in lots of good hotels and this one is one of the ones we prefer.
This hotel is just two mintes walk from the city walls; Once you arrive, put your car in the car park and forget it. Everything can be done on foot. Rooms are modern, spacious and comfortable with a large comfortable bed. The staff are excellent, helpful and charming, especially in reception. They sent us to a perfect restaurant 5 mins walk away. Breakfast was good, gluten free bread was provided. I would use this hotel again when staying in Bologna.
This is my second time in the aemilia hotel and it never dissapoints me. Staff is friendly, helpful and polite. Always welcolme you with a smile. The bed is big and comfortable and the bathroom clean and tidy. Location of the hotel is perfect because you can walk maybe 10-15min to reach the city center.
Amazingly clean rooms. Modern and everything looks brand new. The shower was one of the most soothing experiences and I did not want to stop! Check in was smooth. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety for a European city. Loved staying there and would for sure stay there again.
We arrived late in the evening after a long three hours drive from Milano! What a warm welcome. The hotel staff was really helpful to explain the way into their garage and to help us with our numerous luggage. We got a very nice and spacious junior suite and the staff accommodated for us an additional bed for our son. This without asking for anything, just in the spirit of pleasing the customer. We were under the impression that we were at the Four Seasons, real customer delight! The view of Bologna from the roof top provides you with a beautiful panoramic view of the city. You can also enjoy the jacuzzi for a quick dip. The breakfast is included and offers a great variety of choices. A very modern and minimalist decor is also very pleasing and relaxing. So a great option in Bologna with a great dedicated staff. Thank you Riccardo, Ahmed your team is great!
This hotel is fabulous, everything you could want for your stay. Staff were efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were stunning; extremely clean with a wonderful walk in shower in the bathroom and gorgeous smelling toiletries. The barman helped us choose a local wine and my husband is now searching to try to find it at home. A fifteen minute walk into the centre of Bologna is probably the minimum of what you need after sampling all of the local produce. Would absolutely come back here again and will be planning our return trip soon.
