When I checked in, there was no thermostat on the wall. The temperature was not bad but at 3 am I woke up and it felt like it was 80 degrees. I went to the lobby at 430 am to ask for a different room. The front desk was apologetic and offered me a a key for a new room. I went to check it out and the thermostat was broken and felt like 80 degrees. Went back for another room and found the same thing. The third room finally had a working thermostat. As for cleanliness, the room was not bad but the window sills had so much dust I was afraid to open the window and spread it around the room. The hallway carpets all had tape on them up and down the hallway to keep people from tripping. It is a great location and staff was friendly. They just need some renovations and the Red Lion would be back to how I remember it.

My sheets were dirty, the thermostat in my room was working, my TV didn't work had to have them come fix it couldn't get channels,. No phone to call down to mthe front desk. No bed skirts and ceiling had huge water satins. Couldn't sit in the chair. Very disappointed for the price

The single thing that stood out as positive about this property was the friendliness of the staff. I spoke with multiple front desk employees and they were great! Overall the property looks run down, inside and out. We joked about how loud the elevator was when we took it up to our room, but it was no longer funny when we had to listen to it all night long when it woke us up. Upon arrival I wanted to watch TV to decompress but it would not turn on, I called the front desk and I know they were busy so i told them not to worry about it until the next day. The next morning when I got ready for the day I got my drink out of the fridge and it was room temp. When I arrived back at my room that night both the TV and the fridge were working. There was a giant heap of linens piled in the hall outside my door overnight, not sure if they were dirty or clean but it doesn't matter because it shouldn't have been left there.

All was okay except the maintenance

Good location, staff was fine but condition of the hotel and its maintenance were poor. Leaves that had blown through front door and been left in the lobby greeted us. Very aged doors to meeting rooms signaled that this once-proud conference hotel had been neglected.. Badly stained carpet and torn wallpaper in the hall to our room made that even clearer. Four burned out light bulbs and a drippy sink faucet in the room cemented that opinion. The location was good and so was the price and even the breakfast. It seemed as though the ownership could make this place nice with a little TLC and better instruction to the staff but maybe they don't care.

Had a wonderful check in, super friendly staff! It’s an old hotel but has been maintained extremely well, very vintage and fun. The beds were comfortable, shower was hot, towels soft. We didn’t get to try the restaurant, bar, or breakfast, but the coffee was fantastic! Will stay again!

Check in was fine and we liked the host but immediately upon adjusting the a/c, the room filled with dense smoke— like so thick we couldn’t breathe and it caused a thick haze in the room within seconds. Ended up canceling our stay as a result of this and lack of another suite with jet tub. Requested a call from the hotel manager to discuss our issues and never got a call. Still also haven’t received a refund. My clothes still stink like smoke. No real remorse or apology from hotel— I should’ve pulled the fire alarm. Maybe that would’ve gotten a stronger response. I will never use Red Lion again.

This hotel is older and a bit run down. Areas of worn carpet in the common area hallway in front of the elevator where the cleaning cart had worn it down are repaired with duct tape. Hallway outside my room was in need of vacuuming. One of the sinks in my room had a constant faucet leak and after showering I found water accumulated on the floor on the side of the toilet opposite the bathtub - clearly not from a dripping shower curtain but some bigger issue. Based on water stains on the tile, this has been going on for some time. That being said, the customer service was excellent. I arrived at midnight and the desk clerk was right there, ready to check me in. The room was clean, bed was comfy. I liked that the floors in the room were hardwood instead of the usual carpet. There was a convenient coffee maker and fridge in the room and the ice machine worked, which can’t always be said at some of the more expensive hotels I’ve stayed at. I had to do some work during my stay and the desk and chair provided were comfortable, great access to power outlets. WiFi signal was strong. This hotel was definitely a good value for the price paid, conveniently located. I would recommend.
