Hampton Inn Bloomington

Recent guest reviews

No extra toilet paper, no "do not disturb" sign, didn't clean room one night.

Condition of main area and bath was just OK, but clean. Bed/ mattress and pillows were just fair. Breakfast was good except for biscuits which were soggy on the bottoms. Staff was friendly and willing to help with any requests. The snack bags were a nice touch.

Newly renovated. Very nice. Helpful staff. Close to campus, easy to find.

Nice staff, the room was comfortable enough. The room was not as clean as I'd like - hair in the shower and killed at least 1 spider. It's close to campus and an ok, cheap option for a short stay.

My family has stayed at this particular Hampton Inn several times over the past 3 years. This last weekend was not a pleasant stay. I realize it was a busy holiday weekend. The room cleaning was just being finished as we approached the door----there were a few missing items we were told would be provided. None of the items were there when we arrived back at 11pm; the front desk was responsive to the requests however, there were multiple as we discovered missing items one by one (pillowcases, coffee pot in room, bathmat, toiletries). The staff was lovely, but clearly understaffed.

The hotel lobby was welcoming and clean. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The free breakfast was very good. My only complaint is that I had to change rooms due to a very musty smell. The second room had the same smell but not nearly as strong. Clean but smelled. We just lived with it. FYI to anyone with 4 people in their party as we did, the room was very tight. We have 2 teenage kids - so basically 4 adults. There was not a choice for queen beds - just 2 doubles or a king. We could barely hang out in the room at the same time. It was lights out almost immediately. Next time, I will spend a little more money to get a bigger room.

This is one of the most convenient hotels when visiting Indiana University. The staff is more than accommodating and the rooms are clean and quiet.

Comfortable and convenient for a visit to the IU campus

Spent one night, great location to campus, clean, comfy, nice breakfast, nice staff.

The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. I would stay at the Hampton again.

I was here on a business trip and stayed for 2 nights. The hotel was excellent in terms of location, cleanliness and comfort but I do think that for a 3-star chain hotel in the middle of nowhere, it was a little overpriced. I also wish they included healthier options in the hot breakfast. While it's great to have a free breakfast, everything served was processed. I wish there were more organic and other whole-foods choices.

Stayed at the hotel for one night in May 2013. Room were clean. Breakfast was good. Located in nice location (closer to Indiana university) and was very close to all of my favorite restaurants (Italian, Mexican, steak house you name it...). I do not have to eat pizza. The rooms comes with microwave and fridge which is added bonus. The 2 downside are the hotel was little pricey compared to other hotels and the rooms were bit smaller. But I would recommend this hotel anyone who wants to stay in Bloomington, IN.

This hotel is in a great location for visiting Indiana University. The hotel is very accomadating and the complimentary breakfast had a great selection.

The front desk is outstanding. I made an error and booked a smoking room, when I asked for a different room, they immediately found me a new one. The breakfast is wonderful. The staff is great. Love the accent.

This hotel has some of the nicest and most helpful staff. The location is a bit out of walking range of downtown, but the rooms are lovely and in 3 minutes by car one is in the heart of Bloomington and the IU campus. The free breakfast is varied. Everyone can find something to enjoy. You cannot beat this place for cleanliness.

The staff was fantastic and very accommodating. I went to the reception desk to ask for coffee cups, since the maid forgot to leave them. The receptionist, in addition to bringing the coffee cups up to our room, also brought us some cookies, and a $10 gift card to Chili's, et al. She also brought a very nice card apologizing for neglecting to put new coffee cups in the room. I thought that was "above and beyond." My husband and I appreciated it. Everyone who we came in contact with was very friendly. I have never stayed at a Hampton Inn before, but it will definitely be a priority in the future. Thank you so much.

The room was clean and quiet. The ONLY negative was the pillows. Way too hard and uncomfortable. A variety of pillows (some soft, some firm) would have been a lot better.

New Year's Eve-Basketball at IU-Great Meal --[...]

location very close to Indiana University Campus, we walked to the basketball arena. Rooms were immaculate, breakfast was very good, staff very nice kept breakfast constantly restocked. Will stay there again. That's why hotel was full night we stayed there. Paid $100 for one night with a 10% coupon. Hotel staff was grrrreatttt.

We came for a basketball game and the location was great, less than a mile to Assembly Hall. Fresh smelling linens and hallways, and the most comfortable bed and pillows I've ever used! I am thinking of contacting them to see what brand they are so I can have them at home! Love the free hot breakfast in the morning too.
