I had a short, but nice stay at the Village Hotel. The room was nice and clean and the staff was extremely nice. I flew in from the US and brought the wrong type of voltage adapter with me. The gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to lend me a cell phone charger, which really saved the day. Great hotel!

Avoid at all costs

Ridiculously hot due to no Aircon. Ridiculously noisy due to the pub in reception, multiple functions and incredibly drunk locals. Weed being smoked outside the main entrance. Constant door slamming. The bathroom floor was lifting up. The TV backlight was burnt out. The paint was peeling around the window. Feel utterly ripped off, especially as we left a day early to sleep elsewhere and there was no suggestion of a refund, partial or otherwise despite explaining how awful our stay was. They did comp the £5 parking fee...

Nice hotel overall. The room was quite basic. Only one towel in the bathroom. And no aircon so was a bit hot in summer. There was a fan but no fridge. Shower and bathroom are fine and large. Bed was comfortable. TV channels plentiful. Excellent pub / bar underneath and gym / swimming pool.
