Good Hotel , good stuff , near to the airport , train station is near , everything was good , food was good , there are good restaurant and coffee , wifi is free and good , prices for room was good !!!
They advertise the rooms as air-conditioned with a nice little snowflake next to them. Don't believe it. The rooms have horrible little fans that supposedly turn on if the temperature gets too hot. This is out of your control. In the summer, the room was boiling with the double glazed window and insulation turned into an oven. Keeping the window open lets in all the noise and no breeze. Would have been better off camping outside in the shade than staying in this terrible room.
check in was easy and no hassle. Rooms are a good size, clean, comfy beds, decent size bathroom. The bar was surprisingly cheaper than I thought it would be. However I did the online check in service and had to pay a preauthorised £80 which was a bit of a surprise since I already paid in full and was not aware of this until doing the online check in.
Couldn’t fault my stay. Nice comfortable bed and room, clean bathroom, flat screen tv and very polite staff. Was also really cheap considering it’s right next to the airport. Would definitely stay here again.
We arrived on the 30th june for our early morning flight on the 1st July all seemed ok as we walked in was greeted by a young man who had found our book in and was checking us in then comes over a lady shouted in the young mans face about giving out some rooms he shouldn't have in front of everyone in the reception he was only half way through checking us in , she was very unprofessional but i will give the young man credit as he handle the situation very well apart from that our stay was just what we needed it for .
So stayed here for one night as we had an early flight in the morning. Check in was very quick a as they use iPads so quick and sweet. Had a room on the 7th floor, very clean and functional for out needs but the air-con didn’t work so had to keep the tiny little window open all night with heavy traffic from outside. (Thank god I had ear plugs) we had a lovely view of the car park lol but instead Of staying there we just got the train into central of Birmingham as quick and easy to do so. Would highly recommended as cheap and very very close to airport. Just need to sort the heat out.
First, the good points. 1. Hotel is in a good location for Birmingham Airport, a 3 minute walk to the terminal. Plus there is a free monorail connecting the terminal to the railway station, which in turn is a short walk to the N.E.C. and Resorts World. 2. Check-in staff were helpful with information with directions and the best places to park. 3. Breakfast was excellent. We were only expecting continental, but a full, cooked, buffet breakfast was available which was a nice surprise. 4. Shower was hot with great water pressure. Now the not so good. 1. On checking in, one of the senior managers started berating one of the check-in staff in front of customers, which was embarassing for all concerned. Very unprofessional!! 2. Parking was astronomically expensive. £41 for 24 hours, opposite the hotel. We parked at the railway station which was £21 for 24 hours. 3. Room was small and dirty. Floor was gritty. The pillows were covered in what looked like make-up and smelly. 4. You had to go to a communial room for coffee/tea, which resulted in long queues, as there is no facilities in the rooms. We only found this out after talking to other guests as we weren't told this on check-in. 5. Dinner in the restaurant was expensive and dubious quality at best. Also one of the waiters spilt my friends meal on him, although he did get him a complimentary drink as some form of compensation. In summary, hotel was convenient for one night and relatively cheap. But needs to clean up it's act.
hotel looks great, is very close to the airport and had great food. However, if you want to rest before or after your flight I would not recommend this hotel for the following reasons. Beds are very hard and uncomfortable, not firm, just uncomfortable. The apparent sound proof rooms are not great, very noisy throughout the night as families are coming and going for flights. Air con just doesn’t give enough out to make any difference to the room temperature and if you open the window it sounds like you’re on the motorway. Reception is trying to be to cool, they could t help when we had a booking issue as they work off mobile phones. They’re also right next to the lift so it was very congested and stressful. Wish we had stayed at home and traveled up early hours! Overall very stressful and not much sleep. Very disappointing 1*
stayed 1 night prior to flight, check in very haphazard, did not feel like proper reception! checked in by person not in uniform no name badge carrying laptop! room adequate for 1 night but if you had depth percetion problems you will find the shower/wc po a nightmare!! this is due to the use of same coulor carpet as the main floor of pod and with the step up into pod neeed to be carfull! no in room safe for valuables? breakfast was good
Room quite small but fine and what you would expect for the price. Air con didn't work and neither did the one with our mates next door. Had to open window as so hot so heard noise from outside in night. Beds not that comfy. Sink in bathroom had a putrid smell from the plughole and I suspect it was blocked with something as did not drain away very fast. Didn't bother complaining as only in room for a short time due to an early flight and had to rush off.
