If you are visiting Wolverhampton, you really need to stay here. Lovely standard of accommodation with room also being clean, comfortable and warm. Like to thank Ken the Owner for getting our drinks in again prior to our stay. A big thank you to Claudia for looking after us for the weekend. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast excellent.

Old school that has been turned into a (just outside) city centre hotel. Obviously caters for corporate clients and does it well. Nothing outstanding to report but most notably nothing bad either. I would definitely stay again. Staff friendly and helpful.

Fantastic little hotel within a 10 minute taxi ride to Wolverhampton racecourse. Hotel was spotless, good sized rooms and most of all Claudia made you feel at home as soon as you came through the door, what an asset she is to any company. My Daughters and I only stayed for one night and cannot really comment on the restaurant as we had eaten at the racecourse, but breakfast the following morning was very good. Be rest assured, the next time we have a family outing to the races, we will look no further than the Ely House Hotel.

This converted girls school has been done to a high standard with many period features left in place - a comfortable bed and very clean room. The staff were very helpful; an excellent full English breakfast in the morning with great service rounded off our stay

I was in two minds about the hotel before booking it but as it turned out it was a good move. Both rooms were spacious and comfortable. Dinner on the Saturday night was good but the restaurant quiet. Sunday breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We arranged to meet more people at the hotel on Sunday morning and the staff supplied us with lots of tea and coffee. Definitely on the list for future visits.

My husband stayed here with the best man, ushers and his parents the night before our wedding. He said the staff were really friendly, the food was lovely and the rooms very comfortable! Highly recommended

I had the pleasure of staying here for 7 months while on a contract in Wolverhampton. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel welcome and at home. The owner and all the staff are very helpful, nothing was to much trouble for them. I have nothing but praise for Ely House. When I left after 7 months it was leaving family. My thanks to Ken, Claudia and all the other staff who made me so welcome and comfortable.

Visited over a month ago for a family funeral, my dad booked 3 rooms for the 6 of 6 us, lovely clean rooms n a good night's sleep.A particularly hard time which was made easier with the stay at the Ely. The cheery hostess, so bubbley and took care of us so well couldn't do enough!breakfast was lovely and one evening she even called the chef to come on his shift early to accommodate us.i only mark the place down by one because the food in the evening wasn't great I was absolutely craving fish n chips and thought it would come freshly battered because of the price but it arrived in a really dark brown batter, think it was frozen n chucked in the fryer, it was solid!the rest of the meals weren't upto much either, such a shame that the food standard didn't match up to the brilliant service think maybe need to source fresher ingredients.but all in all a great place

Stayed for 2 nights while in Wolverhampton for a gig at Civic. Really comfy (and huge) bed (Room 9) and staff couldn't have been nicer. Lounge Bar was empty when we got back from gig about 11 but they opened it for us and even lit the fire specially which was really nice. Shortish walk to City centre although you have to negotiate a typically fiendish Midlands roundabout but there are bus stops within yards of the hotel and it's easy enough to get about. Will definitely be back if down your way again.

We were in Wolverhampton to see a show and were delayed by three hours due to weather. The staff allowed us to drop our bags so as not to miss the show and check in at 23:00 when show had finished. Because we had not eaten they then prepared us snacks which we took to our room which was very clean and spacious. The hotel was very well decorated and the staff were extremely accommodating and pleasant,Breakfast was excellent and I only wish we had not been delayed so we could of made better use of the hotel bar and company. A genuine jewel in the rough.
