My friend and I came up to Big Bear Lake on the 4th of July. We made a wise decision when we reserved a cabin at Bay Meadows. The rates were not bad and the cabins were spacious and clean. We were disappointed we hadnt allowed for another night in the cabin. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend the Bay Meadow Resort.

Was looking for a dog friendly cabin that was well priced. Some places are well priced but charge 75 for a dog. No thanks. We found this cute place and not only was it inexpensive to bring our dog, 20 bucks, but it was absolutely spotless. We were in the back in 126 so had a fireplace and a little view of the lake. Everything was great, and we would definitely stay here again! The manager was very nice and the shower was exceptional.

Great central location in Big Bear. Older cabin but very clean & well maintained. Kitchen with full size fridge, gas range/stove, m-wave, basic pots/pans and table setting for 4. Could easily spend several days with the family w/out having to eat out. Spend time in the living room (with an awesome fireplace) reading a book, watching some TV or enjoying some family time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Bay Meadows Resort. There was still plenty of snow in Big Bear, the second weekend of February. We arrived in Big Bear early on a Friday, and luckily we were able to check in early. This made it easier with our young child so we could unload and have naps, etc. all of the staff were friendly and accommodating. We absolutely loved how spacious our room/cabin was. We had one with an attached wall and didn't ever hear any neighbors. We were in #106. The full kitchen made traveling with our year and a half old much easier! We were able to cook most of our meals and relax. If you are cooking, don't forget things like Pam, etc ;). But the kitchen does come stocked with all you should need. (Wine opener, cheese grater, pans, etc). We did however go out for one lunch, at Peppercorn Grille in the village and absolutely loved it. We also brought back one breakfast, from the Teddy Bear Restaurant, and enjoyed that. The village is only a 5 minute drive or so. Across the street there is a sports supply store that sells sleds and tire chains. We bought our little sled there, and continued driving down that street for a few miles, (street directly across from Bay Meadows), driving back into the neighborhood and cabins, and ended up in a off road recreation area to sled. I took off a star because the bed was awkward and made noise every time you move, and was not comfortable. Also because the shower head was semi clogged and made for an uncomfortable shower. You also need to keep the bedroom door open at night to get heat from the heater. But overall these things are minor for the level of spacious comfort we had. We intend to come back to Bay Meadows and highly recommend.

Our family of 4 stayed in house 107 for our annual snowboarding trip. It was clean, comfortable and staff was helpful. There was plenty of room for us and can sleep up to 6 people. We would definitely stay again!

I went on vacation with my family. When my initial rental did not work out I was left scrambling for a place to stay. I was very lucky to find this place. We got a 2 bedroom cabin that was very clean and comfortable. Very close to skiing and other activities. Owners are very nice and friendly people, very helpful and if I ever go back again will sure look for this place.

It is very close to lake shore and Pine knot/castle rock hiking trail entrances. 5 minutes drive to the village. The staff was very nice and helpful. We highly recommended this hotel. Will book again when we come back.

I really, really wanted to love this place. Especially since the owners and staff were SUPER friendly, but alas, I'm incredibly disappointed. Pros: - our room (122) was pretty quiet. - plenty of parking - kind staff and owner - nice bathroom Cons - it was not at all what we were expecting. Especially for $150. We were expecting a log cabin style accommodation up in the mountains, but instead got a really low budget apartment. The photos certainly communicated a different vibe. - there were dead spiders all over our room. I'm suuuuper arachnophobic, so this really sucked for me. - The resort is located on the busiest road in big bear. If you are sensitive to noise, this place isn't for you. I live in the heart of west Hollywood so I was hoping to spend a weekend secluded, but sadly, I felt like I wasn't far off from home. - This was our fault, but we didn't realize that room 122 doesn't have a kitchen or fireplace. Be wary of this if you are planning on booking it. Overall we aren't going to come back. We were really hoping for a quiet getaway to big bear, but are leaving disappointed. You may have a better time staying in one of the other rooms.

We stayed here for one night...the rooms are clean and you do get the cabin kind of a feeling. The lady at the front desk was very helpful. The only thing that is an issue here is the Hot water in the bathrooms. They said that we had to keep the hot water tap open for a while for the hot water to start coming in. We had it on for 10-15 mins and there was some lukewarm water for few mins. It was mistake on our part too that we did not bring this to them as soon as we realized it. As we were here just for one night it was not much of an issue. But if you are here for longer make sure you get the hot water issue fixed

We booked a last minute Memorial Day Weekend trip and were lucky to get the last room. We were pleasantly surprised how nicely appointed and clean the cabin was. The management was welcoming and very attentive to our needs. The cabin was very cozy and we all slept really well in the comfortable beds. We already know we will be coming back to Big Bear and have a lovely place to stay when we do.
