Good location between train station and old city

Hotel was very clean and check in and check out was very efficient. The Hotel bar was nice but we were the only ones there and the service was a bit lacking. If you don't mind walking, the location is nice because you can walk one direction to the train station, less than a half mile away. The other direction you get to the old city shopping and eventually the center of the old city. A very beautiful city and walk.

Select Hotel Rüsselsheim

Nice hotel, less than helpful staff.

Nice hotel, less than helpful staff. The facility has been recently renovated, and it shows. The rooms are well laid out, and convenient. The beds are comfortable and the facility is clean. The restaurant was closed, but the food in the bar was good. My biggest complaint is the attitude of the staff. They were not interested in resolving guest concerns, and were frequently borderline rude. We chose this hotel because it is only a few minutes from the airport. It is located in an industrial area, and the hotel clientele is largely out of town guests visiting the nearby auto headquarters for Kia, Hyundai, & Opel. If you are looking for a place to spend the night before heading to the airport, this place is sufficient.

Maritim Hotel Darmstadt

nice hotel close to transportation

Was so easy to get around being next to the terminal. A quick trolley ride to town center for sightseeing or shopping was great! The room was comfortable, clean and great shower!

Best Western Plus Plaza Hotel Darmstadt

Good value for the money

Overall, a good basic hotel, reasonably close to the city. Bus routes and street cars are right out the front door, making travel easy. We also had a rental car--but parking at the hotel is extra. Our room was a bit warm for us--which would have been ok if we could have left the window open at night or if the air conditioning had been turned on. We couldn't leave the window open because the main train station is close and most of the tracks ran just below our window--very loud! Fine with the window closed, and for a lot of people would be happy with the temperature--we like the room on the cool side at night so it was a bit uncomfortable, but not unreasonably so. It is too early in the season for the AC to be on, I imagine in the summer there would be no problem. If you care about the view, you will want the side of the hotel we were on, if you want total quiet, you will want the side away from the tracks. There is a companion to this hotel (Maritim Konference Center) about a block and a half closer into the city that is away from the tracks--don't know what the pricing is there, but that would be perhaps a better choice. A good thing about this hotel is that you really don't need a car unless you are doing distance travel. There is a bus that runs from the airport to the city center, and from there you can ride the street car to the hotel--there is a stop across the street. You would have to carry your luggage a little way, but very doable.
