A bit of a surprise when we arrived as we did not expect such a nice place, although had problems communicating with locals our guide was a great assistance. Bed was a little bit hard but not uncomfortable. All facilities were there (except face book) Breakfasts were great with a mix of western and eastern food available, although toaster could be quicker.
The hotel is looking tired. It is a good location as it is not far from the embassy district and is just upstairs from the airport express station so when you arrive you just need to head up and you have arrived at the hotel. The reception staff were ok but the restaurant staff were lazy and sloppy. The pool and gym is tired. Rooms have various issues of wear and tear. It was about $100 so not too expensive but I reckon the rooms are not even worth $100. Not the end of the world but you should not be expecting too much service there.
This is a fine hotel with all the modern bells and whistles. The breakfasts are wonderful with a large selection and nicely presented. The room transforms into a dining room for late afternoon and evening and I felt it was less than acceptable. The rooms are clean, comfortable and adequate, but definitely no more than four star
Just one stop with the airport express, Novotel Beijing Sanyuan is very conveniently located in a city where the subway is the heart-line. The hotel is fairly decent with all modern amenities. I just wish the staff understood a little more English. Tried ordering food from their room menu card and it was a nightmare ! The property is very clean and well maintained. The check-in / check-out process is slow. The room was nice with most modern bed-lights. The bathroom was wonderful with all modern fittings. Next time in Beijing, I would still choose this hotel...not so much for the property itself but for being at such strategic location. By the way, don’t forget to explore the mall situated just next to it..plenty of food options including a KFC !
I have stayed in this hotel several times for several years. It is very convenient as it is at the first stop of the train from the airport. For the past two years, the area next to it has opened many resturants, coffee shops and bars and wine tasting catered for the upper middle class. You will not have any difficulties in finding a good meal. The rooms are clean but small. It is good for a 2-3 night stay.
Very good hotel at the conveniet location with both metro station and direct airport line in front of the hotel. Good conection to main attractions in Beijing. Stuff is very helpful and friendly, they speak good English and they even helped us to buy tickets online for the Forbidden city on Chinese web page. Rooms are big and clean. Great choice of buffet breakfast (both continental and Chinese cuisine)! The hotel has a little pool, sauna and gym. I would definetly recommend this hotel both for business and private stay :)
Despite a convenient location, this hotel isn't one I'd recommend. The rooms need a general overhaul. My air conditioning didn't work properly, the light in the glass-fronted cupboard could not be switched off (meaning the room was illuminated overnight) and the cupboard itself smelled badly of damp and something funkier. The beds have typically Chinese mattresses, which are very hard. On checking in, the hotel takes a Y500 deposit from your card, refundable on departure, true, but why not just take the card number like other hotels? Overall, not a welcoming experience...
I m very happy to stay at Novotel Sanyuan where the reception staff are very helpful and friendly. The room is clean and the venue is very convenient especially for foreigners who loves Hongkie, Taiwan, Japanese or Western food at the nearby.50m shopping mall. And you can catch your favourite movie at the malk.
Room is quite and average size. But there is yellow stain on the bottom of the wall, seems like had water leakage before. Really appreciated that the wall plugs in the room can fit electronics used in North America. Excellent location with express train to airport and a subway station. Also there is a shopping center very close to the hotel. Overall, the price is on the expensive side.
Location is good. Next to subway and mall. Breakfast is also above average for similar hotels I have stayed at for China. If you are out all day this hotel is ok but if you want to spend time at the hotel then not a good choice. Rooms appear to be converted apartments. Fit out is poor quality and rooms lack any personality. Small for other similar hotels. Bed was hard as a rock. A pool of water used to collect by the shower. Housekeeping could not figure it out and stayed like that the whole trip. Reception staff are generally unhelpful and you have to find a guy called Juan if you need any help. Wifi is slow too. Better to a spend a few more dollars and stay at better options nearby. Not all Novotels are the same!
