If you're going to be visiting the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this is a very convenient place to stay. The hotel is really good, the rooms are excellent, and the restaurants are nice. The hotel caters mainly to Chinese, so communication is sometimes an issue. There are not a lot of amenities, but they do have a fitness center in the basement that can be used (It's chain - not owned by the hotel). I found the fitness center to be well equipped, although some of the equipment was "tired". Also, people would sit on the equipment checking cell phones for long periods of time and no one bothered to put the free weights back on the rack - they were all over the floor, creating a hazard.

I was staying there for a conference nearby, which was the only plus. (1) None of the receptionists could speak/understand basic English, except one. (2) The swimming pool and the men's locker room/showers were moldy and disgusting. (3) The breakfast buffet was quite extensive (Western and Chinese), however, they would starting closing before the ending time and would stop refilling the plates way before. (4) We got a taxi driver through the hotel for a day trip to the Chinese wall who totally ripped us off by adding extra charges and texting/talking on the phone non-stop. (5) The rooms were old and it smelled like smoke. The other plus is the great Japanese restaurant on the ground floor, not related to the hotel.

This was also a good value Beijing hotel close to my host's location and easy to access, just off the north branch of the 4th Ring Road. My room was very nice, it had good air temperature control, and a very comfortable oversized bed and bath/shower room. I stayed two nights. The included breakfast were very nice buffets. The staff were ultra courteous. I saw a good mix of westerners and asians in the breakfast restaurant. They had some problems with the coffee machine both mornings, but it was easy to ask the hostess for help, and she was happy to deliver whatever was needed to your table. I am not sure what my host paid for the room, but the rack rates appear to vary between about $100 adn $250 depending on demand. I would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

The room is spacious and clean, with a very good shower and reasonably reliable internet. The breakfast buffet offers a great variety. The nearest subway station is a 10 minute walk. I found this a good value. My one unpleasant experience was ordering an espresso from the bar. The glass of water that accompanied it was undrinkable tap water, the price was double what I would pay elsewhere, but I was prepared for that, what really annoyed me is that they added 15% for "service". Probably the first time I paid a service tax for a cup of coffee.

the first thing that strikes you about the hotel is the space - the rooms are huge, the foyer and public spaces vast and opulent. This gives an excellent sense of quiet and peace in such a busy city. The food the breakfast restaurant and upstairs restaurant is actually very good. For breakfast there is a choice of chinese and western cooked food also many fresh juices and breads etc. Very close to the Chinese Academy of Sciences. rooms are quite despite busy roads outside (like all of Beijing)

Very comfortable hotel, with a very good breakfast buffet featuring Chinese and Western food. There are two Chinese restaurants in the hotel, and both are very good. It is very convenient to Chinese Academy of Sciences institutions and Peking University.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights. Advantages are: comfortable location, breakfast with various of tasty food, big rooms. Weak sides are: hotel, furniture and rooms seems well used. Breakfast with wide variety of courses is cooked tasty. General quality of service is satisfactory

Great hotel, fantastic rooms, great breakfast, but lack of english. stayed there during my last visit to Beijing. had a room on the 11th floor and a breathtaking view of the city. the room was fantastic, possibly one of the best i have stayed. Breakfast was excellent with choices of modern european to chinese. The personnel was extremely helpful in all possible ways and the ones (many) that did not speak english would run (literally) to get someone that did. the hotel is nicely situated ~30min drive from the international airport and ~10 min to the center. Tip 1 if stay there make sure you buy water from local supermarket, as they provide two small bottles (complementary) and if you run out there is a bootle of Evian that cost ~11 USD for 0.5 litter . tip2. if ones needs to take the train there is a shortcut from the hotel to the train station that saves ~1km of detour. just exit the hotel walk straight ahead for ~100 m and then next to what in 2014 looked like a car wash turn left and start walking parallel to the rails for ~300m will certainly use this place in my next visit

The hotel is rather new, clean and nice. However, don't expect there is convenience store near by. I walked from Tsing Hwa university, which is 15, 20 mins away, which is acceptable in April of the year. If you only need a stay, this will fit your need.

The location is not great but my client's office is nearby so I let it go. When we arrived for check in about mom, the place was pitch dark. No light in the lobby and it was like a dead building made for vampires. The room is big enough but typical Chinese style. No soul. The bathroom has a shower that leaks, and the towels were yellow and paper thin. Don't even think you will get any decent toiletries. This is not the Holiday Inn Express. Worse! There are no English Channels on the CRT TV. So 70's! The breakfast is terrible - big round tables shared by the locals who spit, swear and slurp when they eat. Coffee is terrible and the typical Chinese breakfast dishes are so inviting that you want to skip everything! I kid you not, one of the dishes was stir fry pig's ears! Don't come here if you have a choice.
