Stayed here on a business trip because it was closest to the office. This is NOT a touristy area nor would it be suitable for tourism. The hotel itself is fine: my room was very spacious, and as a loyalty member, I had access to the lounge, which offered a nice space for meeting up with guests, as well as Happy Hour. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous: had a great variety of both Chinese and Western offerings. There are some places to eat both in the hotel and within walking distance, but if you don't speak Chinese it would be hard to navigate outside of the hotel. The internet in the hotel was ok, but don't forget all Google applications, as well as Facebook and YouTube, are blocked in China (I forgot and had a lot of troubles)!

If you are visiting or working near Peking University, I highly recommend the Crowne Plaza. I stayed in a club level room and the size of the room was quite large, which made my week long stay very comfortable. When I got to the room, I had a nice plate of fruit and bottles of water waiting for me. The service in the club lounge was great - I had breakfast there almost every morning and a glass of wine in the evening. All three restaurants in the hotel had good food, which makes up for the fact that there is not a lot of food options super close to hotel and given the proximity outside of central Beijing (it can take an hour in traffic to get to the center of Beijing from this hotel). Will definitely stay here again when I return to Beijing on business. I dropped my passport on the last day and the staff was incredibly helpful in helping me locate it very quickly.

I have had many good experiences at Crowne Plaza Hotels in China, and this was not an exception. This hotel is located in the Silicon Valley of Beijing. Check-in was super easy. The staff was very polite and warm. Although I reserved the hotel using my travel agency this time (and not directly through the IHG website), they had all the information necessary to check me into my room quickly. The room was spacious and modern looking, and I liked the couch that I could relax on. All the necessary amenities were available, and my room even had an air purifier, The fitness centre is fully equipped with several treadmills, machines and barbells. I would definitely choose them without hesitation when visiting the area.

I have to start by saying that this was my last stop on a long business trip. In the previous cities, I stayed in excellent hotels so my bar was high. I was disappointed. I'd stayed at the Crowne Plaza Zhongguancun nearly 7 years ago and had hoped that they had kept the rooms looking modern. They did not. The rooms felt dark and outdated. The big issue was that the A/C was not working. I've read that this has been an issue for other travelers. It was certainly an issue for my colleagues and me. The main A/C system didn't work for all four of our rooms. There was a floor unit that worked for two of us and made the rooms cooler but still not very comfortable. We gave up hope of requesting repairs to the main A/C after one of us asked. She had a repair man come to her room and begin vacuuming gunk from the air ducts. The unit still didn't work. Rather than the rest of us see all of the gunk in the air ducts and risk having that disturbed and spread throughout our rooms, we made the best of the situation without the main unit working. We also had an issue with the service. Twice we confirmed that the concierge had booked a private car to take us to the airport after checkout. They agreed to charge the car to one of our hotel rooms. Once we checked out, we learned that they did not reserve the car. This meant that we had to get cash and find two taxis. We ended up being 30 minutes late to the airport. Although this hotel is in a pretty good area and within walking distance to our Beijing office, I doubt I'll stay here again. I'd rather sit in Beijing traffic for 30 minutes after staying in a better hotel.

Stayed here on a business trip. Clean, well-appointed rooms, fantastic breakfast in first-floor restaurant. Our room had a minor leak around the toilet, and the English comprehension of some of the staff was a little rough, but overall a very good stay. Close to subway.

This is a fine hotel, large, modern rooms, good lobby, good restaurant etc. but there's just something about Beijing hotels. They're a bit 'over employed'. What I mean by that is I went to check out the workout area and an employee chased me down to describe it to me. I went to the pool and an employee chased me down to describe it to me. I ordered dinner and an employee stood behind me to make sure I was having a good meal etc. Maybe it's just me as an introverted American that this all creeps me out a bit. Stop trying so hard!

This was my first time in Beijing and since my office is located in Zhongguancun area this was the closest hotel. This area has a lot of technology firms based around there. The hotel has a great lobby as you enter and the first impression was great. Also there is an ATM there which was very helpful considering the airport taxi didn’t accept credit cards. Checkin was pretty quick and on my way to the room I could already read that this make out was a popular business hotel. The room was good and quiet. I quickly got a shower and visited the lobby restaurant for some dinner. The chicken curry rice was average and got back to the room to crash to bed after a long journey. I realised the next morning that something wasn’t right and only next night I realised that it was the air conditioning that had some problems. I called someone for help and they did something but I felt a bit stuffy in the room. This kind of continued on and off for the whole week. I tried to set it at 16 degrees Celsius and it still used to be much warmer. My colleagues in other rooms too shared the same story though they had a much worse time. This was very strange considering it was a Crowne Plaza property. The breakfast spread is vast and tried variety of things. The Valley Rouge restaurant was ok I felt though I liked the food at the Italian Teppan restaurant better. Though communication with the staff in English was a bit of a challenge, they were very cordial and helpful. Overall it could have been a better stay if the air conditioning wasnt such an issue.

As we were up early to catch the tours we hag until lunch.d booked, we always caught an early breakfast. It was very well prepared and we were allowed to take additional food and fruit on the bus, which kept us going until lunch.

I was there for a 4 days business travel. Have breakfast everyday, the breakfast is so good, it has many options both Chinese and Western. The check in process was so fast, even though we were a group of 40 people. The rooms are so comfortable and quiet. The hotel has a metro station in a walking distance. Overall Good experience!!

It all looked impressive enough on arrival: Nice looking building in a good location. I had all the expectation of arriving at a 4/5 star hotel for international travelers. That impression was confirmed by the efficient, polite and friendly bell men who greeted me from the limousine on a well maintained, clean and well appointed forecourt Similarly the lobby has impressively tall ceilings, and the check in staff handled me very professionally. But it all went pear shaped when I arrived at my room. After the bellman had left, I noticed that the room was hot and stuffy. When I went to the thermostat, it showed 28 centigrade - or 82 Fahrenheit. No problem I thought: it's minus 7 centigrade outside - I'll open a window. But when I went to the windows, they were glued shut - such that I could not open them. So I went back to the thermostat to turn on the cooling, but there was no cooling option. Just fan speed. And no matter how I played with it, the ventilation kept pushing out warm air. My next step was to call reception to ask if I could change rooms. Their very quick response was that they would send up an air-conditioning unit. But without a window to open, the only thing a self standing unit could have done was to move the warm air around more. So before the unit arrived, I went downstairs to ask for another room. I was irate, having gotten off a 9 hour flight from Zurich and they handled it well, (again, the staff were first class). What they did was offer me another room in another part of the hotel. This room was huge - a suite, and it had two windows that I could open. But I could not do anything to stop the steady breeze of hot air coming from the vents, and, as with the other room, no aircon. All of this made me realize that the building simply has a lousy, or perhaps non-existent ventilation system. In parts the corridors are super-warm, in others not. But I found it stuffy everywhere. Eventually I found myself another hotel which is where I am writing this review and I'm much happier. The Crowne Plaza would not be a bad hotel if it were not for the ventilation. It's very clear to me that, at best, it's not working well and at worst, it's broken. Worth adding that I am sensitive to this: there were certainly guests who were happy to be staying there.
