I stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting Beijing on business. The hotel was located near to the offices that I had to visit and actually offered a free shuttle service to and from these offices which was great. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. My room was very spacious and clean with ample supplies of towels and toiletries and good air conditioning. I tried both the Italian and Chinese restaurants in the hotel and both offered a great range of choice and were very tasty. The Italian restaurant deserves a special mention for its very extensive wine list. If I had one negative point, it would be that the wifi could be a bit faster as it almost grinds to a halt during peak usage times. Overall, my stay was very enjoyable and I shall stay at this hotel again next month when I am back in Beijing.
Its in the 4th ring. 30 minutes going to the Software Park where most of the big companies are. Its also very close to a few malls and some great restaurants. Very helpful staff. They would get taxi for me everyday in the morning. Breakfast selection is good.
This was the nicest place to stay in the Haidian District, close to Peking University, where our student was studying -- hence reason for our visit. Our visit was early April, with unseasonal temps in 80's. Told government doesn't allow AC before May!! Hotel staff tried to accommodate, with portable/ice-driven AC machine. Created a slight decrease in room temp, but left HUGE wet spot on carpet. Pollution was so bad, didn't dare open the window, for a breeze. Because the hotel is so far away from the city center, we had some difficulty communicating in English. Wanted to dine in the hotel's well-regarded Chinese restaurant and were told "this is a CHINESE restaurant" (we are European-Americans). They graciously let us try to navigate the menu, and our nearly-fluent daughter helped in the ordering. If you have to stay in the Haidian District, this is a very nice hotel.
It seems good at first view. It has lots of facilities in the list that can be verified later. Also the room furniture and sofa seem acceptable. Regarding to type of foods serving here should be tested after as i am currently checked in.
Stayed here for two nights as part of a business group. The rooms were ok size wise but dated--towels were threadbare in spots, closet doors didn't close properly, and everything just felt a little tired. Breakfast was very average, even as a fairly flexible eater I had trouble finding many things that were particularly appealing. Staff was courteous and lobby area nice, fitness room was tiny and dark with no natural light (but colleagues said that the indoor pool was beautiful). Wifi was ok. The stay was perfectly adequate but I was glad this was the shorter part of my trip.
Last year this time I found the bread collection rather deficient and I really thought this was a short coming. This year I enjoyed the panini with the perfect size - not too big. The fruits were good and we had fresh juice. This is really five star hotel standard. One small matter - the drains in my shower had become less functional. May be it is about time to do clearance. wifi has improved but can be faster. The reception was slow in responding to request on putting my team on the same floor - and we did not get it. May be this is because the rooms were packed - this was on 31 March.
Stayed here for a short layover on our way to SE Asia. Rooms were large and the staff helpful and friendly. The expansive breakfast was incredible although not included in the room rate. The hotel is close to 2 subway stops making it easily accessible.
I stayed here as part of a group recently. The room was fine but in need of an update. The hotel continues to lack character. The thing that continues to exasperate is breakfast. 1) there are lots of young and clearly inexperienced uniformed staff hanging around not doing much e.g. clearing dirty cutlery and crockery away. As for trying to get a second cup of coffee brought to your table, this is nigh on impossible 2) if you get there at opening time (which has fluctuated between 6 and 6.30 during my several stays), the catering team are often still setting up food areas, especially the bread products - not good if you're in a hurry and just want a piece of toast or a pastry. The most bizarre thing about this particular visit was on our last morning. My group had an early departure so several of us went down for breakfast at opening time. We sat down and had coffee while waiting for the pastries to be set out so we could take some with us for the coach journey. While waiting, a few of us got some fruit and yoghurt to eat. When the pastries were finally brought out from the kitchen, members of my group asked the waitress for a paper bag to put pastries in to take out. When it came to my turn the waitress told me I couldn't have a bag because I had already eaten breakfast??!! I couldn't be bothered to argue my case at 06.45 with a waitress who appeared to be barely out of school so I just told her that I was as equally entitled as my fellow group members to take a carryout with me and that whilst her silliness would make it difficult for me to take any food out, I would proceed to take it anyway, especially as my room rate included breakfast for 2 in spite of my being a single room guest! If it weren't for its proximity for work visits, I would much prefer to stay elsewhere next time.
Walking distance to many businesses, restaurants and mall. The hotel itself is starting to show it's age but the rooms are spacious and bathrooms good quality. Gym is OK with cardio and weights equipment, along with indoor pool (remember your googles and swimcap). The bar in the lobby isn't particularly enjoyable (too bright, limited drinks options) so I would hope the hotel management review that approach. At times English language was challenging with staff, but they do try and are genuine wanting to help. I did have a big issue with the room airconditioning - it was 27 degrees in the room and when I tried to cool it just went up to 30 degrees. I tried to report to the hotel but the operator didn't understand English well enough to resolve and I'd arrived at midnight. In the end i just turned off the aircond and opened the Windows to let in the cold sub zero air from outside into the room to get comfortable.
Have been there on a business trip early Jan. First challenge to any hotel in China during winter is to get the room heated - which they master with excellence. The room I had offered more than enough space, king size bed and perfect bathroom facilities. Breakfast offer wide and tasty. Nothing to complain- but also nothing more than confirming the high expectations in any Crown Plaza.
