We have stayed at this hotel perhaps thirty or more times over the last twenty years. Always the same positive and friendly outlook. Always great and tasty meals. Always the choice of European or Asian cuisine- Most important: spotless rooms, together with always helpful and friendly staff.
We have been using the Fujian Hotel as our ONLY stopping point in Beijing since about 2002. Even with late arrivals or early departures, arriving as a group of six instead of the original group of two, nothing has ever been a problem for this hotel or any member of the staff. Every staff member is always smiling, always helpful and during the odd occasion when that person does not have your answer, they are quick as a flash in finding out from another staff member who does. My wife often stays at the Fujian, even alone and I know she will always be safe there. The staff always seem to know who is who and where you should and should not be. We will be there again for a few days next week whilst we visit with friends in suburban Beijing. From every viewpoint, a really great place to stay,
Good hotel for a short stay .Staff understand english and is verry hepfful like most of chinese. Clean and quiet. Rooms rather small ,bathroom old, clean with white towels.Breakfast mostly in chinese style but tasty.Hotel is situated not so fare from Tian anmmen square and metro station.Free wifi in the room
Starting with something positive - rooms are spacious. There free wi-fi in the hotel rooms. Breafast is satifying needs of non-chineese travelers, except for coffee, there is however a coffee shop nearby. Breakfast room staff is pretty nice and helfull. Their command of English is not impecable but they do their best to serve guests properly. The hotel rooms are terribly worn-out. Almost everything works in the bathroom, but do not throw toilet paper into the toilet because you will coke it up. Wallpapers are detached from the walls. Furniture should have been modernized alredy sometime ago. I will save you further details. There is also unpleasant smell in the hotel lobby and in the rooms. I was traveling with the travel office, so I had no choice in terms of the hotel selection. Personally, I would most probably go for another option.
Fujian Hotel provides clean, quiet and comfortable accommodation for travelers and visitors. The price is also affordable. It is located in a quite convenient location and next to the Bird's Nest building. About 100m of its northern side, there is a subway station. It will take about 20 minutes to Beijing train station and Tian'anmen square.
Relatively clean hotel. Great breakfast, although you could smell the smoke from the card rooms. Nice staff. Fun location near a small shopping center with plenty of local food choices. Walk to park to see seniors dancing and doing Tai Chi
We stayed here one night before returning home. The staff was very helpful furnishing a fresh fruit snack in the mid afternoon. The room was very cleaand quite warm. The windows were easy to open for good ventilation
Having stayed here previously I was enthusiastic about my second stay but was disspointed this time around. Whilst the rooms are still spacious and clean, the bathroom is very dated and there was some damage in the bath tub which didnt look too good or clean. Furthermore the toilet blocked after one flush, and this is something I heard happens more often. Could do with a good clean up and modernization.
I stayed here for attending few meetings. Very clean hotel and rooms are well kept. I am coffee junkee and I ran out of coffee, so I asked the cleaning staff. She was very helpful and brought me coffee for few days. She seems happy to help. Room is well lit, working take is good. Room also had an air filter. Bed was soft and coverings were very clean white. Breakfast looked amazing, but I wasnt feeling well so only had rice soup. Charge per day is average for the facilities they provide. I would strongly recommend it. Reception staff spoke English and all cards are accepted.
Based on the comments below, I had expected there to be wireless Internet in the rooms. There is a *wired* connection but no wireless, except in the public areas on floors 1 and 2. For me with smartphone and Playbook table, this is a show-stopper so I checked out after 1 night. Other negatives: 1) My "no smoking" room clearly smelled of smoke. 2) When I asked for a taxi I was told to go out to the road. So much for service. 3) Beds aver very hard Positives: Spacious and clean rooms, low rate, nice breakfast (good croissants).
