Stayed as a family as we had an early flight the next day! It was our first Family holiday with our Son....he thought this was a fantastic place to stay as he could see the planes!! They lovely lady on the desk moved our room to a room where we could see the runway, especially for our son which I thought was fab service as we didn’t even ask! The restaurant was great...very quick, friendly service and food was lovely! We had an early night as an early flight, the beds were SOOOOooo comfy, even the sofa bed that Little Man was in! This turned out to be a problem as struggled get him out of it at 430am Ha Ha! It was really clean and could hardly hear the planes! Hint- It’s a bit of a walk down to the terminal especially with case, bags, a little one and a buggy. But if just one or two of you ok as long as you are able to walk ok as on a hill. We walked as it was still quicker even at 5am...traffic was gridlocked!! Only one negative was just didn’t have enough room with all the bags etc but maybe we just didn’t get enough time to sort organise ourselves for an early flight. Overall a brilliant hotel, VERY COMFY BEDS and fab service!! Thank you!!
Staying here tonight and dismayed as a regular IHG customer. Cold attitude towards parking issue raised. On booking via Expedia, website said self parking available at £8 a night. On arrival challenged as to when I'd seen this as charges recently changed, and advised I was wrong ( inferred stupid) as this meant when resident only not when travelling away. Told to push off to mid-term car park at £10 per night and given wrong advice as to process. When I returned to show original booking advice, evident that I would be disregarded and nothing but a cold, unfriendly service. Will not return to this hotel again and even took my evening meal business to Ibis, who I have used before and meet the offer to provide parking when you stay there. Manager was aware of my dissafaction but ignored me, despite my calm, professional attitude throughout. Totally put me off using IHG in work or personal..despite recent 5 room booking at Holiday Street Birmingham, who provided a great service.
Unfortunately, we missed our flight and had to stay overnight. We were met at Reception by a lovely receptionist, did not catch her name but she was a beautiful young lady with lovely braids in her hair... she was so nice and we were so stressed, she was great! She knew that all we wanted was our bed and a shower as we were up really early... she made it all very smooth, a credit to the hotel. Around 3am we got up for our flight, we did not order a 'grab bag' but a lovely guy gave us water, bananas and croissant to go and was very polite and respectful.. great staff all round... well done HR!
Small and efficient. Close to anywhere (car rental, airport, transportation). Dinner is reasonable ... served fairly fast ... reasonable price. Sleep quality (bed and pillows) above average. Very clean and neat. The staff is very courteous.
We have stayed here a couple of times before & again found it to be excellent value for an airport hotel. Our room was clean & comfortable & probably " no-frills" but perfectly adequate for an overnight before flying. Bed was particularly comfy with a choice of pillows! We enjoyed a meal & drink at the bar, but one criticism- please take time to give the tables a wipe after clearing dishes! Staff at the breakfast buffet were more attentive in this way, & dishes were constantly being replenished. We will certainly stay here again next time we fly from Luton
We stayed here recently just before taking an early morning flight to go on holiday. The hotel is compact, and as you would expect, is a passing trade hotel, and consequently lacks atmosphere. The room was comfortable, clean and perfectly adequate, and we had a good nights sleep. Once we had checked in and got organised, we went to the small bar area and had a couple of drinks. We then looked at the menu, and there was a reasonable choice - and the meal we chose was good. My only gripe with the hotel was that we thought It was within easy walking distance of the airport, which it is if you don’t have heavy luggage and are not in your late 50’s! Thankfully, we did check out the route the night before and It looks like you would have to negotiate a flight of steps to the main road and then it’s a ten minute walk, much of which is uphill - not something I fancied at 4am! We therefore opted for a taxi, which was about £7 and worth every penny. That said, we had a good stay at the hotel, and I would stay here again if I had an early morning flight.
Actually the rooms are nicer than expected. Clean and all is therw what is needed. The shower could use a rework. That all would be 4 points. Staff is friendly and lobby is ok with all different seating possibilities. However, food is rather filling than good (dinner). Breakfast without real bread (only toast), no cheese and horrible coffee is clearly leading to a reduction to 3 points. This hotel is a perfect fit for the category "only if I have to".
We stayed for one night prior to a flight from Luton Airport and there is no hotel closer. It took us about 6 minutes with suitcases to walk from the hotel to check in. On arrival the staff were friendly and welcoming. We also ate dinner in the restaurant which was reasonable and well priced. The room was of a great size, was clean and well maintained. We could find no reason to fault this hotel and the price was particularly reasonable - under £75 for the night for two of us and it would have been cheaper had we booked it direct with Holiday Inn. We would definitely stay again.
We stayed here the night before our flight and took the shuttle bus from Luton Parkway. Check in was fine, the lady wasn’t overly friendly and we settled into our room which was nice. We went for dinner and had the curry and burger, the guy bringing over the food was friendly and helpful. As it was only a short walk to the airport, we decided to walk there instead of the bus and took around ten minutes. Would stay again if flying from Luton.
Stayed 1 Sept due to 6am flight next morning. Excellent location to Jet base 10 minute brisk walk with suitcases to terminal. Double insulated windows, heard nothing! 4am basic breakfast, hot breakfasts from 6am - good. Dinner also available at night. Pleasant, well informed staff. Parking is also available at cost! Pricing about right for what you get. Would definitely stay again.
