We stayed at the Margaritaville Compass Hotel for a weekend getaway, and overall it was a decent experience, but definitely an expensive one. Between the room, food, drinks, and parking, we spent around $1,000 for the weekend, so my expectations were pretty high.
The hotel itself was very clean, and the rooms had beautiful views overlooking the marina, which was probably one of the highlights of the stay. The pool area was also very nice and had a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good, and the drinks were definitely strong, so no complaints there.
That said, the menu prices throughout the property felt extremely overpriced for the quality and portions. Parking was also frustrating unless you paid extra for valet service. The self-parking spots are very tight and don’t comfortably fit many vehicles, so I’d recommend planning ahead or trying to find street parking if possible.
One positive is the location — it’s within walking distance to a lot of restaurants, bars, and attractions, which made getting around easy. However, during our stay there were only two entertainment shows the entire weekend, which was disappointing considering the amount we spent. I expected a little more activity and entertainment for the price point.
Overall, it feels very tourist-oriented. While the property is clean and has some nice features, I’m not sure I would return given the overall cost versus value.
