I had a 3 day 2 night getaway in Batam with 25 relatives from 2-4 Mar 2018. Organised by my cousin, it was somewhat an annual get together for the past few years and also to celebrate Chap Goh Meh this time in a place where we could do some fireworks. We stayed at a beach resort on the first night and shifted over to Swiss Inn the next day to move around town for food and shopping. Swiss Inn is suitably located and convenient for us even with half a dozen old folks aged 80+ to 91. Though only 3 stars, it is somewhat a luxurious place in the midst of the still developing surrounding. The rooms were spacious, clean and with strong free WiFi connections. We were all put on the same level and we totally enjoyed the temporary kampong for a day. Sorry that we might had inadvertently disturbed some other guests. Service was good and breakfast was adequate and offered a reasonable spread. An improvement that all of us unanimously suggested was that the shower head should be connected to a shower hose for a more user friendly and satisfying bath. Lastly, if you are looking for a good massage, head for the professional establishments as the skills of the hotel masseurs are limited.
I got a very good deal on Fave for $38 which included ferry and the hotel stay with breakfast and transfer from ferry terminal to the hotel. The location was good and was walking distance to BCS Mall which had restaurants, karaoke, movie theatre, massage and nail services. Just opposite the hotel was a cafe and a little further down there is a Sushi Tei. The thing is - crossing the road is a big challenge. Be careful! And also when walking back after dark as there are potholes in the ground. The room is big and comfortable but with an awful view. Bathroom is ok. Wifi is ok. Breakfast is also ok but they ran out of teaspoons, and later ran out of coffee. Overall quite ok for the price. I will stay here again.
On 23rd to 25th December we checked in to room 707 thru our booking with Hotel.com, This was 1st time for us to book this hotel stay for our Christmas Holiday with another friend that her room was 708. Thru out this 3 days 2 Nights stay at this 3 Stars Hotel. As i noticed a Sign Board was station next to Lift Landing. It's read that "Hotel Rooms Are Newly Renovated" But for my views of staying experience in Room 707 was not what it says. Cos i Discovered 2 tiny Cockroaches was hiding near the pipes area when i checking on 1st day. The Water for Bathing was such Such Low Volume and it's not functioning well. As the water was Splashing Out in Different Directions. Water Was Not Hot enough. Some TV Channel was not in Clear views. There's a Cafe Selling Many Types of Pizzas in very Cheap Price & Is Dam Good. Cos i did ordered for Special requests in Calzone Seafood. Just cost at Idr 38k. The room service menu list was very well listed from Appretizer to Main Course & other Sides Dishes. All Levels of Staffs very Well Approached in A kind of Friendly Welcoming Attitudes. The In room Aircondition was perfect. Wifi speed was Fast & Perfect. I never try the Breakfast cos is never comes along my booking package. But i was offered to have it if i wish to pay idr 100k. But after i goes round the buffets set up next day morning. It really not attract my feels at all. So i prefer my personal Indonesian driver drive us go out to explore other Food in Batam. Lastly i would not wish to check in this Hotel again coz as my price paying of Singapore Currency $66 per night is not worth it. Due to at this Price Range. There's other choices of Hotels in Batam & Nagoya areas. Also few of it have the Amenities of Swimming pool.
Swiss inn has always been the top choice to stay in for me and my family. Never disappointed with our choice. Close to BCS mall and a2 eatery, this hotel is in a prime location. Though, be careful because top 100 has been knocked down to be replaced by something else. Rooms are cosy, bed though a little small (twin beds) are really comfortable! But the shower area is a little small. Tried the room service on this trip and I must that I am impressed with the service and the quality of the food. Though not as much options, but good enough. Staff, as usual, are friendly and very accommodating to our needs. Thank you swiss inn, will be back.
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a packaged tour arranged by my tour agent. Superior room was given and it was comfortable for a couple plus 6 year old child sharing the bed. Though the toilet was little bit on the smaller side, it was sparklingly clean. The room facing the road in 4th floor was given and we never had a problem with noise. Wifi is super speed and we couldn't enjoy the breakfast much as we were vegetarians. The negative point is the veg spread was very less and the refilling was never happening for some items or very much delayed on some items. Only 1 person in the restaurant can speak English and we didn't find an oppurtunity to ask her for refill as she was busy serving other guests. On the positive side, when i asked for fresh juice, they made one in front of me in a manual juicer and gave it to me.
The hotel is located across to main roads which is quite dangerous to cross. Room are clean and neat but the bed sheets are quite dirty with stains. The bath towel have a bad smell like it is unwashed. One of the bath towel even has a hole in it. Toilet is small and cramped. Staff are helpful and friendly which is a saving grace. The breakfast are reasonable with quite a spread. The egg counter was not ready until and we even have to wait for the water to boil to get hard boiled eggs. The linen and towels have to improve or else it will really spoil your day. Due to the location next to the main road, it is very noisy throughout the night. Especially noise from the motor bikes are noisy and loud. Did not sleep well. I will not consider coming to this hotel again.
My Friend n I visited the Swiss-Inn hotel in Sep 2017. The S$68 package on offer (hotel n departure tax) per pax included a hotel 1 night stay, breakfast, ferry, free one way land transfer from hotel to ferry point . Horizon Ferry was new, clean n spacious. Hotel was clean n the staff was courteous n very helpful. Special mention to Mr Hadi whom I believe is the Manager n her lady colleague on duty. The staff is very accommodating n always wearing a smile. Breakfast was however not as great as the variety was limited; the breakfast toaster was not functioning well n the juicer was Super slow. My Friend had a stomachache n fell ill after taking the juice (probably becaz the juicer was not washed after each person used it). The idea was a good one but the hotel may have to station a staff to wash the juicer after a few rounds of use. However I must add that Mr Hadi n staff took the trouble to give my Friend a place to rest at our request (after we explained how my Friend had probably gotten ill)while we waited for the ferry to return to Singapore in the evening. It was a warm gesture n I personally recommend this hotel for a cheap n affordable getaway. Well Done, Mr Hadi n his team. I will come back to stay in the near future, I am sure. A Singapore Guest & Friend.
Swiss Inn was never my 1st choice in Batam. Given no other alternative due to the long weekend from 01 - 03 Sept and my budget, I don't have another option. Alas to my pleasant surprise : Reception - Staff was friendly and helpful Deluxe Room - Big Cleanliness - Decent until I found a piece of mattress linen hidden behind the couch Wifi - Great connection Location - Within walking distance to BCS Mall - about 10 mins slow walk (due to road work and renovation at the drive way, turn right after you exit the hotel. walk some distance to a cross junction for ease of traffic, head straight for BCS Mall) Cafes - Interesting good vegan restaurant nearby which take care of your natural wellness Massage / facial - can't remember the name but they use good dermatics products for facial "NIGHTMARE" - BaReLo Breakfast is not important to me BUT a bad start in the morning can be! 1st morning Service - I took about 15 mins to find a decent table when I can see staff who are less busy standing around without helping to clear the table (A2 food court next to BCS Mall has better service standard) Coffee - Blend 2nd morning - After my unpleasant experience on the 1st morning I decided to go in at 09:30am on the 2nd to avoid the mad hour rush and what await me is a greater surprise. Service - It take 3 different persons (15 mins to clear my table for 2) Bread - Out of Stock Hot Dog - Out of Stock Coffee - better quality I thought I ask for a staple items? Apparently not in the case at Swiss Inn. My suggestion to the hotel : Slow juicer may be a luxury to have but definitely not in a hotel. As the name suggest, SLOW - How can you expect everyone to have a fair chance to use it. Besides the machine can be too sophisticated to some. Why don't you use cartons of fresh juice instead of using cordial. If the hotel can't handle the crowd, An American Breakfast may solve the problem. Will I stay in this hotel again? I will think twice or under the no alternative scenario
Room was comfortable & spacious. Checked in smoothly at 10am on a public holiday tho official check-in time was at 2pm. Took a Grab car to BCS Mall at 9,000 rupiah which is less than S$1. Buffet breakfast was average tho well compensated by slow juicer with good varieties of freshly cut fruits. A really good deal for the price
Pros - nice rooms - good and prompt service crew - good quality hotel at reasonable price Cons - guests who want to visit BCS Mall will have difficulty crossing a road with heavy traffic - due to the traffic, can be a little noisy at times - bedside lamp has no own switch - to turn off the lamp got to turn off the main which is hidden below the table (refer to photo attached)
