Always my first choice for a quick unplanned getaway from singapore with the family, has one of the best spa's and highest servicing standards, the property might not be flamboyant but it makes up with facilities and servicing ! Our special thanks to the staff who made my birthday special , eko, jhoni, dzikri, setia , ani, aan, viki, dewa and others . see you guys soon !
I went with my family n friends to this place in December 2017. It is a resort with karaoke n Swimming pool n table pool n game room ( small ones) n a few restaurants. Only operation during dinner or lunch time. Please note that this hotel is far away from city. Nothing in the surrounding area. U cannot go anywhere by foot. U have to get a taxi to the nearest minimart or shopping area. If u want a place to relax n massage only then this is good. Else choose other places. It is also not good for family with kids. As children does not have much things to do except Swimming.
It was a great experience. Firstly thanks to the manager to give the kids free breakfast for the two mornings. It gives the positive start! The best part is the spa but it was just a bit pricy. It was a great experience. Couple spa for two hours is abt 240S$? (10% service and 10% gst...quite a lot 😜). It was so popular that it should be the first thing to book when u check in. The only thing to comments The games room was great for kids and my 8 year old daughter loves it. There used to be the game station my 11-year old son loves it but this time is not there. Small pity! The cafe was good and I was very thankful to them to adjust the menu to fry something that suits my parents who are on strictly vegetarian diet. Thanks, guys! The first day we stay in hotel and the second day we rent a car to visit the Southern Sea Kuan Inn located in TCM resort and my parents loved and prayed there. After that we went to laughing Buddha (Maha Vihara Duta Maitreya Temple). For buddihist, you may want to go to have a look and pray. It is worthwhile. There are cheap and delicious vegetarian food! I love them as do my parents! Then we went to have some food in Nagoya mall for lunch, about 26$ for two adults. and two kids with fish, vetetables and fish, satay, etc. After that,we went to a place near batam city (about 10 minutes' drive from the mall), there were places for kids and adults to play archery, shooting, ATV, flying fox, etc. Not that big but it was quite good.It was much cheaper than Bintan, abt 6S$ for 15 bullets each. We played archery and shooting, and the kids hada great fun. Then we went to get some fruits on the way back hotel, a watermelon abt 3S$ (half of the price in Singapore market), mini oranges and dragon fruits with red flesh (all are 4.5$ per kg and actually abt the same price in Singapore). I felt these fruits are quite pricy in local rate. The best place to eat fresh and cheap fruits are in Phukhet! We reach hotel abt 6pm,swimming, spa for kids and adults....Great thing that they still have room service and we ordered burger close to 12am! Not too bad but pricy for me (chicken burger with fries abt 17$ ). We wake up late and enjoyed our breakfast and the breakfast was quite good in Holiday inn. A big thumb! Pity is that we can not check late which we did the last time. I guess lots of ppl went there to stay for New Year! We leave for Sengkupang ferry terminal abt 1pm and our ferry ticket is 4pm. Actually it was not far from ferry terminal, only abt half an hour's drive. We had food in the cafeteria in the ferry terminal (abt Singapore hokker center price, 5-6 dollars per fried rice or ayan pennyet) and not too bad. There are two shopps before check point and you can have a look. I tried to finish all my ruppiah and bought some t shirt...you can have a look too... Glad I got chance to spend with parents and my hubby can take care of the kids! Thanks for the nice experience again in the hotel.
decent quality rooms but far from everything else (it takes USD$10 and 40mins/way), its good if you are a couple planning to spend time away from everybody else. i recommend you arrive at waterfront, enjoy your stay, and depart from batam center (for the massage, food, supermarket shopping) staying at waterfront feels less "sleazy", its more family oriented. i believe the rooms in holiday inn are all suites, we got one with decent marble/wood finishing, small kitchenette, living area, and a king size bed. the food at sportsbar was disappointing. 24hrs room service available though. price/quality ratio wise, its rather on par with harris waterfront, you pay more better quality in short.
Forget about swimming on Batam, especially on the cost against Singapore. Unless you want to be sick. Maybe you can find a decent beach down on the south island. But I would stay in the pools. The Waterfront beach is absolutely not swimable - as many others promoted beaches. Only seen dead fishes there.
Today, 30 Dec is the start of our 3D 4N stay at Holiday Inn Batam and it has been a pathetic experience thus far: Sekupang pick-up: Hotel's Email to us stated "First Come First Serve, means when shuttle is full, it will send guests to hotel. please look for a van with Holiday Inn Resort Batam Signage at the outside. Unfortunately we are unable to have the exact numbers of Guest traveling at 1 pm." ---- We waited 20-30 minutes near the shuttle, we were the only pax but driver was nowhere around. Finally we made our own arrangement and went to Nagoya. Arrived in Hotel at 10:30 pm. Location: Far Far Away and final approach road is 'broken'. We were given room 4412 but the keys given were not working. At 11 pm they ask us if we would like to go out somewhere, while they have Engineering fix the problem. We waited but they couldn't fix the problem and finally gave us another room. The mini bar is EMPTY with not even cold water. From whatever little we have seen so far, the other hotels we have stayed in Batam (Radisson) are much better. 3 more days to go in our stay here, dreading what else is in store, shall keep TA readers posted.
My overall experience in holiday inn Batam was pleasant. What they lack in cleanliness, they make up for it in service attitude. We booked a 2 bedroom suite over Christmas. The hotel is slightly old as evident from the toilet seat that is dark and chipped. The shower water doesn’t run and the first night I had to bathe in cold water. Wasn’t a pleasant experience. However their service attitude is good, we called for room service for a few times and they were always very efficient. Reflecting back I think it’s considered a relatively good hotel in Batam already as it is a slightly less developed country. Will stay there again if I go there with family. It’s conveniently located next to waterfront terminal.
We booked 3-bedroom apartments for 3D2N during x-mas period. Hotel was fully booked and crowded in swimming pool. Breakfast is standard. In-room service and restaurant menus are very limited for vegetarians. This hotel is far away from city centre and the hotel provides the shuttle service to ferry terminals.
This resort is located in a far-flung corner of Batam Island. Nonetheless, it is easily accessible from Singapore by ferry boat within an hour. There is nothing much in the vicinity except a few bars on the waterfront, and these are pricey for Indonesia, but compared to Singapore prices, you will find them a bargain. Still, the buffet breakfast here is good. We ate it every day and skipped lunch. The breakfast cost us 110,000 rupiah per person. The room was large, spacious and comfortable and the housekeeping was friendly and thorough in making up the room. It has a nice, big pool which is relaxing to lie around and there are a number of decent but pricey restaurants. Basically, if you were jumping over from Singapore like us, you will find it reasonable but if you are coming from elsewhere in Indonesia, you will get sticker shock.
Room was ready although we reached hotel before 11am. I greatly appreciate your early check in service. Room wise is excellent and my son loved the swimming pool and water slide. Breakfast was nice and we managed to play some games at the game room. Most of the staff were well trained except for a few. Since the phone line was done, we were asked to contact thru Whatsapp. I asked for spa cooking for 5-7pm but there was no response at all. I made a request to a staff to help us book at front desk as we needed to catch the Nagoya bus. When we arrived back to hotel at 4pm , there was no booking at all and I had to personally go to the tea tree spa to check and found out all slots were fully booked. Next was Nagoya bus, 40-seater bus departed to Nagoya, but after shopping, you sent a 10-seater van and it was full. My family (4pax) and 2 other customers were left waiting at the shopping mall. Your staff did help us to call for another van but only to arrive 45mins later. This was a total waste of time. Last was the ferry booking. During room reservation and ferry booking, we clearly mentioned the returning ferry timing. As we were too engaged on our activities, I forgot about getting the return ferry boarding passes. When I realized late at night, you guys had never made the effort to ask or help to confirm our return ferry. Luckily our ferry time was early at 9am so it was still ok to get our boarding passes when we reached the terminal. In future, pls help to train your staff to check on guests return ferry and help to book them in advance.
