Love this place, small friendly hotel. All rooms have superb sea view. Relax on the bed and watch the surfers do their thing. Very helpful staff, nothing is too much for them. Location is slap-bang in the middle of Biarritz with an easy walk to anywhere. Comfortable beds, well appointed, and well designed bathroom. Tea and coffee facilities in room. Very quiet as there is no road outside, it's the 'Place Bellevue' that overlooks the stunning coast, rocks and crashing waves. Get down here. Will be returning
This was our second time at Le Café de Paris and we would thoroughly recommend it. Beautiful view, fabulous central location and lovely bedroom. The food is also brilliant, we had an amazing valentines meal in the restaurant. We will be back soon!
We went for a weekend during low season, the service was good, had an order of fresh oysters and excellent main courses, including steak tartar, suggested daily menu- a local fish, and sirloin with mushroom sauce all well made, well presented. I recommend you visit this restaurant.
We had a junior suite with an excellent view of the sea. It was large, warm and comfortable and we appreciated the kettle, fridge and bathrobes. The bathroom is beautiful, but the washbasin is not very functional and the bath itself is rather high.
Our two-night stay during Christmas was splendid. The room was beautiful, well equipped and comfortable and the ocean view was spectacular. Also the bed was large and very comfortable. The young staff were very attentive and helpful. Breakfast superb!
Nice property, central, fine view of the coastline and surf. Low score because we checked in Dec 24 and, unbeknownst to us, the plaza in front of the hotel onto which most rooms face has a light show and loud music track that runs in a loop nonstop from 18:00-23:00 every night for two weeks. It's charming the first time or two, then becomes incredibly annoying because of the noise and repetition. This wasn't disclosed in any advance information when we booked via Expedia (or on the hotel website). For us, the key feature of a hotel is somewhere you can get a good night's sleep. Extremely disappointing for what should've been a wonderful Christmas stay in Biarritz.
Biarritz is a very attractive town in the delightful Basque country and as such it is crowded with both people and cars. The downside is that parking is at a premium and the fist thing the visitor to the Hotel must accept is that there is no car park on the property and no roadside that offers door access. As such one parks directly under the hotel (always lots of space during our visit) and pays £15 per night of your stay. Then there is the task of carrying up four flights of stairs ones baggage. I should add that the elevator provides access to all the floors of the car park bar the hotel entrance level. There ends the downside but DO NOT ALLOW that to detract from what the hotel offers. It is centrally situated with stunning views of the Atlantic and the acrobatic surfers. All rooms face the sea, some offer balconies and all are well equipped. It is spotlessly clean and the staff are so obliging, nothing seems to cause them a problem. The other fact that is quite rare is that the entire operation works in the most efficient manner without any obvious input from (at least visible) senior management, everyone we encountered looked so young yet were so competent. English is spoken without request and with a smile. If advice was required a suite would be worth booking as the space in the standard room is a little limiting, typical French maybe?
This hotel has a great location, right in the middle of the town looking out across the beach. It's only 10 minutes from the airport and after that, you can explore the whole town by foot. It's a charming hotel, not too large and having a friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is top notch with a really wonderful menu. I went for the fish as we're at the seaside, but they have a great selection of French dishes.
This is your typical French upper market hotel. Limited amount of, but spacious rooms, most, if not all, overlooking the ocean. The staff is selected not only for their looks bu also for their friendliness and they serve an excellent breakfast, which can be eaten on the terrace outside overlooking the "place Bellevue" and the ocean.
This is a lovely small hotel, overlooking the sea in a pedestrian area. The car parking issues did not effect us as we had a taxi to and from the airport. The reception staff were very helpful and had fluent English. We were upgraded to a suite, which had a lounge area down five steps from the bedroom, with views of the ocean. The bathroom was modern and clean. The only small issue was that water splashed from the modern sinks. We had breakfast at the restaurant and were able to sit out on the Terrace. The breads, cheers and fruit were fine but the eggs and bacon was passable. We also had dinner and I had one of my best French meals, with a meal of lemon sole. We went back again but the sole was not as good so there must be more than one cook! A great location to explore the beaches, market and to go further afield. Families may be more suited to a larger hotel.
