Got early check in (after asking) which was helpful. Room is lacking in character but was comfy, clean and spacious. Limited room service. The attached restaurant is poor, very small portions and gimicky! Air conditioning was poor, room was hotter inside than out and too noisy to open windows. Close to many bus stops and the hop on hop off bus but the restaurants nearby aren’t great. As per most European hotels there’s no coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast isn’t worth the extra 10 euros, (hotel that joins from next door pays 9 euros, what’s that about?) The pool and jacuzzi are tiny but nice though staff need to stick to the advertised hours (kicked a few of us out half hour early).
It was very noisy! I could hear everything and everyone. The first night there was a weird scratching on the wall, very creepy to be honest. I told the receptionist, who told me that they will send a person to check it out. Since i was out, i am not sure who went, or if they even went, but they told me, sorry we couldn't hear anything and we are fully booked, so can't change the room. Obviously, I couldn't sleep all night because of the noises and the scratching of the wall. On top of that they have an orange lamp on the sealing (i think an exit lamp or something) that you couldn't turn off. I hate having light on when I sleep, so this also bothered me quite a lot. The only nice thing about the hotel is the employees, who at least were very polite. I don't think i will come back there again.
The elevators in this hotel are too noisy. The whole hotel vibrates when they stop/start or doors close. I was in 508 and my sleep was disturbed every night. There's a safety concern if the elevators are not well maintained. Saturday night there was a lot of loud talking in the corridors. They wouldn't change the sheets until challenged, on two days. The hotel's apology was a bottle of water and a tiny pack of biscuits. I regret choosing this place.
Just returned from a four day visit to Barcelona. The staff were very friendly, warm and helpful. The room was clean and tidy overlooking the street. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Although situated on the quieter side of the city (20 - 30 mins from Place 'de Catalunya by foot) the metro and buses are very accessible. Can't comment on the hotel restaurant as we ate out. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants in the area and the staff in these were friendly too. Would have no hesitation in rebooking.
The hotel room cost me over 100 euros for one night. The room was a tiny space overlooking a horrible patio. I was with the baby and there was not space to pass between the cot and the bed so you had to jump over the bed to get to the closet. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, extremely hard. Not to mention the bathroom which was dirty and really old. I was under the impression that they gave us a room that was in need of refurbishment and was not supposed to host any guests. I believe they gave it to us because it was a last minute reservation and they were full so they gave us this crappie room at an incredible high price for the value. I felt robbed... I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. Place to avoid.
This hotel is in desperate need of a make over. Everything is tired. It is clean but tired. Beds reasonably comfortable. The toilet wouldn't stop flushing unless you poked it twice a technique we perfected. The kids room was the same. The bath didn't drain properly so when taking a shower you stood in 3 inches of water. On the second day when we came back for a siesta they started drilling on the roof above us by the pool which was annoying. Come back on day 3 for a siesta starts drilling again. So we complained. Nobody seemed to know what we were talking about, quite unhelpful at the reception. The house keeper was sent to our room who didn't speak English and basically said they'd been drilling all day. It did stop in the end. But overall not a very satisfactory response. The breakfast is ok with a good selection. Overall we were disappointed with the location of this hotel it was too far from attractions.
My husband stayed here for a week whilst holidaying in Spain. We found the staff helpful and welcoming. The location was close to Las Ramblas and museums. It was afflicted with the local gym but we had to pay to use it. There was a Rooftop pool with great views but the area needed an update, as did the rooms which were devoid of character and space. The cleaners did a great job every day and made sure you were comfortable. It was overpriced and that did not even include breakfast. Do not get your laundry done there as it will cost you way too much we used the local laundry matt for a quarter of the price.
Had a great stay at the Sunday Aston Very centrally located very close to metro, bus routes and main train station Staff were very friendly and helpful could not fault them Room fairly basic but very clean and comfortable Rooms cleaned everyday with clean towels Would definitely recommend
A good location for us. Our room was small but clean with a comfortable bed. Bathroom also clean with large soft towels but both rooms were rather tired and needed some renovation/repair. Our first night was very hot and it seemed as though the air con was not working properly. We asked about this and immediately something was done because from then it worked well. All the staff we met were very pleasant and friendly. Good choice of food for breakfast - lovely fresh fruit! We enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is small and placed reasonable centrally. The room was of average size and clear but in serious need of renovation, especially the bathroom (rusty bath tube, rotten door, no ventilator). The price did not corresponded with what we ordered (via Expedia) and was for some days higher. (Free) internet was OK. The service was very divers. Some (older) staff at reception were very helpful, some younger staff did only bare minimum and are in need of some serious training in customer-centered approach. The best was the breakfast - it had great choice of fresh food (although staff does not even greet you and seems to be in state of chronic depression). Recommended? Hardly.
