I just want to say thank you to all the staff for our stay. We left the evening of the attack and it was a shock to hear what happened as we waited at the airport. We have many happy memories of our stay including the great breakfast and the help in booking tickets to the Nou Camp (a must for all football fans)! Be resiliant just like us Londoners.

My family and I ( 2 Adults and 3 kids) were booked to stay here from 9th August until 11th August. We booked through Booking.com. When we arrived at the hotel they advised there was a problem as Booking.com had only booked a quad room. This despite the specific request from booking.com seeking a further bed. Booking.com and hotel had my specific requirements from mid January!. I will never using Booking.com again and have cancelled two further trips with them as a result of this "balls up!!" Initially, the hotel tried their best and the front desk staff were great. However, when we got to our room, it was smelly and dirty( wooden floor all gritty and clearly had not been properly cleaned). The Air con was not working but we were not advised of this! I asked the chamber maid to set the Air Con for me, which she did and she advised that it was on. When we returned to our room several hours later and with the outside temperature at 9pm around 27 degrees it was not working. I complained to the night receptionist. He provide additional fans. Whilst complaining, other quests in adjoining rooms approached the reception. They had been resident for a day or two prior to my arrival. They were experiencing the same problem and had done so the previous night. The hotel let us check in in the full knowledge of no Air Con. There was an offer of two other rooms (split the family) which had just been painted( advised just that day). This was refused. The guy working as night receptionist was really good and tried his level best to help out. He even rang the General Manager for the guests. Sleep on first night was non existent. The following morning after further complaint and speaking to the General Manager we were moved to a sister hotel. Petit Palace Museum. To be fair to the General Manager, she was good to deal with and engaging. A taxi transfer was arranged and cava and sweets put in our new room. Complimentary breakfast was also provided for the second night. Second night of our break in Petit Palace Museum was great. Despite the above I will book with the hotel chain again and will stay in Petit Palace Museum but not the Petit Palace Barcelona. The reason for my willingness to book again is simply down to the efforts of the reception staff at the PP Barcelona. They were very good. Also I was impressed with the GM of the hotel group when I spoke with her. She took ownership of the issue, apologised and moved to solve the issue very quickly and fairly. I travel to Spain for my holidays and always stay in Barcelona for a few nights. I will be booking PP Museum next year but not PP Barcelona!!

Second stay in Barcelona (But not in this hotel) and we chose this hotel for its location and wasn't disappointed. The hotel is in need of a change of decor, as it is very dark and dingy, but is clean. The hotel doesn't have any outdoor space, which is nice to end your day with before heading out in the evening. For this reason would probably look for somewhere else on our next visit.

Having booked this hotel following flattering reviews on TripAdvisor six months before we found to our surprise that the hotel was being refurbished when we booked in. We had to change rooms three times during our stay because there were certain aspects of the accommodation that were unsatisfactory. However the Manager, Alex Taranilla and his team dealt with all aspects our complaints in a truly professional manner bearing in mind that this place is being refurbished This place has a lot of good things going for it. It is located near all the famous sights within 15 to 20 minutes of walking distance. The Breakfast served by the hotel is truly remarkable in that it caters for all different types of dietary requirements. One can also hire bikes for free to tour the city One thing that is truly remarkable is the management and his team who are kind and considerate and very accommodating to our needs. My heartfelt thanks to Alex and his team I will certainly stay at this hotel again Kind regards Tushar Trivedi

My stay at Petit Palace Barcelona was quite unique, it started with a very nice room that unfortunately looked like the housekeeper didn't finish the job in the bathroom; the faucet was still running and there was some dirt in the tub. Otherwise the room was very clean. I do think it was a genuine oversight. The night manager, Andy handled the situation very professionally. He immediately gave me keys for another room of the same type. Unfortunately, the shape was very awkward and smaller than the other room - I wouldn't have been able to use the desk for work and it did not have a patio like my earlier room. He was very apologetic and provided me with a suite to use for the night. My stay would have been unenjoyable without Andy's help. The next morning, I spoke with the GM and she was also very apologetic and allowed me to stay in the master suite and sent a bottle of wine. The hospitality was great, the staff were very friendly. The hotel has bicycles to use in the city. Definitely try to book the suite with the balcony!

I stayed at the Petit Palace Barcelona for 5 nights, with 8 people, 3 rooms, and it was utter disappointment. To start off, you walk into the lobby and everything is very dark. The furniture, the walls, and a lot of the decorations were either black or very dark which is not appealing for a hotel. It gave a sort of muggy look and scary really. The hotel rooms had a lot of issues such as doors not locking securely, tvs not working, and leaking from vents. The maid service was also unacceptable. After being out all day, we stopped by our hotel room around 5pm and the room was still not done. After calling the front desk they mentioned the maids were gone for the day and the best thing they could do was give us fresh towels. Just towels? I thought that was unacceptable. Overall although the Petit Palace Barcelona has a good location it does not compensate for the lack of service given to its guests. Only Pros: About a 10min walk to las Ramblas and main shopping/dining area. About a 20min walk to the Sagrada Familia. 5min walk to two different train stations.

The walls are very thin and the staff is very loud. The rooms are very minimal. The water was off the first day we got here and the electrician didn't let us get much sleep into the next day. There is no guide to calling the front desk in the rooms and when one person smokes in their "balcony" every room smells it. Keep looking. There are so many better options in this city. This just seems like a careless establishment. There are better prices for better locations.

Been there for 3 nights with my wife. We also stayed at the Petit Palace in Malaga and Madrid. The one in Barcelona is by far the WORST in terms of facilities (quite dirty) and personnel. The hotel is currently under renovation and there is dust around the reception area and other communal parts. The path to the lift is poorly lit also. Reception: the personnel is quite unfriendly, albeit polite. They distil relevant information slowly, including on how to access the hotel with your hotel card. Compared to the other two Petit Palace, they have a long way to go. Internet connection: simply embarrassing. Slow, choppy and unreliable. Breakfast: very expensive. Turn right and walk down one block. Then cross the street and keep walking down - On your left you will find "El Fornet" - High quality breakfast for a very reasonable price. We were also unlucky as the other guests were quite noisy and impolite. Our sleep was interrupted by abrupt noise in the middle of the night. Unless obliged, please stay away. Cost/benefit analysis very poor -

As part of the beach week organised by my parent, and to enjoy with my daughter, I though was good to show to her other great cities in Spain. So the plan was to get a week end in Barcelona and then drive to the beach after, Looking for hotels the Petit Palace Barcelona was a great choice, centric, well situated and with a great price offer. The check in was speedy and very efficient, the staff were friendly and their suggestion of restaurant was excellent with a very helpful booking done by them. The room well equipped and spacious with confortable beds and a great airconn.......very needed on a hot summer. The breakfast times were more than acceptable and the offer wide and well stocked....

No shower amenities, not good service, the hotel in general was definitely not a 4 star. The only good thing is the location, which is very central. The room had a balcony that overlooks the street. Overpriced
