Definitly not value for money !!! Staff very cordial but everything else quite disapointing. The room was TOO expensive and definitly needed a refresh. Floor, bathroom and furniture really in bad shape. Room noisy because you can hear all around what is happening in the vicinity....

Hotel in need of renovation. Strange "moldy" smell inside, in the main hall and the corridors... don't really now if it was from the old carpet. Breakfast was good, but nothing spectacular. Car park and car park acess to hotel and quite ugly. Was really dark. As usual in Spain, small parking spaces.

We had a great week. The hot food at breakfast time wasn't hot. We found the service to the terrace not as attentive as other places that we visited. There was a bit of noise coming from the terrace after midnight on our last night. The terrace was meant to close at midnight. Apart from these small problems the hotel was fine.

Nice inexpensive hotel close to everything. Pool and small gym available. If you are not planning to spend your stay in Barcelona in a hotel room I recommend Hotel SB Icaria - affordable, clean and good location close to the beach.

Stayed last year and enjoyed it so much we returned again. Spent most of our time either at the pool or at the beautiful Icaria Beach, which is only a five minute walk away. Had the breakfast buffet which was vast and unlimited. Found the staff to be polite and helpful and particularly enjoyed relaxing at the poolside area in the evening. Free Wi-Fi was very good also. Our family really like this hotel and would definitely go back.

We had stayed in sb icaria hotel for 5 nights in end of jun 2017. Good: The location in very good for beach & reach all transport facilities. Negetive: I had requested to give us a good, clean, ... for us in upper levels. In arrival give us room in floor3 with many & many problems( problems in shower & hand washing swab, major problems in shower water tap, problems in shower telephon.....) After that i request for changing room & they give us room in floor 2 with very bad view.... This hotel needs renovation in all areas. The breakfast buffet menu is similar for all days!!! According to out last travels ,Our expection was more than this by this price(170-200 euro per nights)

The hotel is ok with all the basics you need. Situated close to the beach and on walking distance of the city. Bikes are for rent at the hotel so exploring the city by bike is possible and lots of fun.

When holidaying I like walking and exploring. The beach is only a 5 to 10 minute walk which I did everyday. The bus stop to the city is quiet close. The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms were a comfortable size. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and accomodating. My family and I would definitely stay there again

We stayed here last week in may in a three bed room. Great location near a fantastic beach. Chilled out vibes all round, pleasant staff, nice pool. We were two minutes away from a wonderful little bakery and right next to the bus stop which we took on the way back from park guell. We walked into town every day as well as exploring the local eateries and area. Clean hotel with good service however we were not in it that much as Barcelona is such an amazing place. Would return.

This was our second stay at the hotel and to be honest, i'd probably not stay again for the price we paid. We paid around 560 euros for 4 nights and i have to say, i felt like it was a little overpriced. Firstly, i should mention some of the good bits: - The pool. Not massive, but great to cool down in. The pool area itself has loads of seating including some shaded area by the restaurant. There are no parasols round the pool. Its a lovely clean area and feels very tranquil compared to the hustle and bustle of Barcelona - a great way to spend a few hours in the late afternoon, after a days exploring. You can borrow pool towels free of charge, and whilst most hotels have quite tatty ones, these are very nice. - The bar - well stocked, reasonably priced (for a hotel). If you're round the pool, they'll bring it up to you. - The gym. Not massive but a few cardio machines to use whilst on holiday. Nobody needs a full squat rack on holiday anyway! - Location. Minutes walk from the Beach, and port olimpico, with its lovely lovely restaurants and bars. Equally, if you fancy something quieter, its only a 10 minute walk to Poblenou (which we always visit the majority of nights we're in Barcelona) which has its own La Rambla, full of locals eating and drinking from about 7pm to midnight - nobody has tea here til about 10pm, kids included. Its a fab row to go to if you want a reasonably priced dinner away from the usual tourist traps, and whilst they appreciate you trying to speak spanish, most will speak English when they see you've had a go! (and also a fab gelato place for midnight ice creams to eat on the way back to the hotel). - The room - the air con in the room was really efficient and pretty quiet too. In addition the huge windows open wide if you want to let the sea breeze though, which we always did. The mattress was comfy (ideal if you like a firmer mattress) and if you like thick pillows, these are ideal (although i ended up with a stiff neck!) Now the not so good - - the room itself was a bit tired looking. The blackout curtain had rips in, the bathtub was grubby and the floor had sand on from the people before, meaning we had to be careful getting into bed so not to bring the sand with us! One of the bedside lamps didn't work but it didn't really matter as there are so many different lamps and lights, one less made very little difference. - the bathroom. Its perfectly fine and has everything you need BUT our shower leaked EVERYWHERE leading to me slipping on the first night, having not seen the water. I was ok, but if i was older (or equally a lot younger!) i could have really hurt myself. Also my husband stubbed his toe on the door stopper, which is just placed on the floor in the middle of the room. - the tv - im not someone who watches a lot of tv on holiday but when the only 2 channels you get in english are CNN and BBC France, it makes for quite depressing television for background noise when you're getting ready! There are a few music channels as well, but it would have been nice to have something easy to watch whilst my husband had a sleep or whilst i was getting ready. Not a big issue though - you don't go on holiday to watch telly! Whilst the hotel itself is more than adequate, all public areas are spotless and the staff are really nice, there are just a few niggles which didn't make it worth the large amount of money we paid. If I was to go again, i'd only stay there if I could find a better offer.
