Have waited 6 months to write this because I’ve had a claim with Thomas Cook pending. We travelled at Christmas myself daughter and 6 month old grandson. On arrival, late at night, we discovered no restaurant or bar, as sold to us, so no where to buy water for baby. Shown to our room and actually would have preferred a tent. It was absolutely filthy!! Couldn’t see through windows and definitely hadn’t been mopped for months. Beds were dirty , even a mans dirty vest under the bed. Draws were disgusting as were the couple of bits of cutlery etc. Bedding was yellow and after being up 20 hours we wouldn’t get in bed. Baby just crawling couldn’t go on floor. I can’t actually articulate how bad it was. The place needs closing down and deep clean! Don’t go unless this has happened. I can’t give it zero score, or I would.
Although the area we stayed was lovely, and if the state of the apartment isn’t an issue than a good budget hotel. For us the apartment was very disappointing. There was building work right outside of the bedroom window. Grinding tiles at 8 in the morning, dust getting everywhere. The microwave was on top of the fridge freezer so I was the only one tall enough to use it. The place was dirty, we had to clean most of it ourselves. It is a satellite hotel, The main reception is several streets away And although you got dropped off at your apartment you had to make your own way to reception to drop off you cases on the day of departure. When we explained that one of the party was disabled they reluctantly agreed to send a car.
Nicely hidden retreat.. not to far from the beach or local shopping etc.. only problem was internet was down and there was no television remote in my room over all great for night overs and weekends getaways
Basic accommodation, clean, peaceful and relaxing location.About 10 mints walk from beach and about 15 mints walk to Holetown.Easy access to the bus stop.It was my first visit to Barbados I stayed two weeks here ,overall an ideal location to explore the island. The staff were friendly especially receptionist Chanel who helped us with anything we needed. On the negative side I didn’t have wifi throughout my stay(due to technical issues). Overall a pleasant stay,if u looking for 5 star accommodation this is not the place. However if u are looking for cheap basic accommodation to explore the island this is ideal.
My husband and I found out that our flight had changed and therefore dates for accommodation too. Reassured straight away by manager in email. This was our 8th time in Sunset Crest, we love it. We take everything as we find it and consider ourselves extremely lucky to be a part of this. Our only concern this time was the expense, previously it has been cheaper to eat out than eat in. However since the introduction of Massys supermarket we very carefully shopped and ate in, only going for evening meal at Just Grilling or Good Choice Chinese. Can't wait to go back as soon as funds allow.
We are just back from a lovely holiday in beautiful Barbados where we stayed in the Halcyon Palm (apt 3 ) for 9 nights. The location is perfect for the beach, restaurants, local transport and a good supermarket being just 10-15 mins walk away . The apartments are nicely situated around a small pool in a well kept garden with lots of palms and birds so it has a really tropical feel. Being in a residential area it is very quiet and peaceful and we slept really well here. The accommodation was just what we hoped for , clean and comfortable with mostly all the basics you need for a week self catering. . The beds were especially comfortable and we found the shower worked perfectly . Our apt was cleaned daily. We found all the staff friendly and most helpful . Thank you very much for a lovely stay .
I would never stay here again. I have been to hotels in many countries but this place was terrible. Rude staff, poor house keeping. Just all around dirty. The location is away from main traffic routes so if you don't have a car you have to walk. It was the negative in an otherwise great trip.
I stayed it was peaceful but the facility needs some maintenance the walls in my room looked like it had water damage and the a/c had the floor in the bedroom flooded. The sofa in the living room was nasty with years of dirt sitting on it.... I couldn't sit in it.. the resort needs just a little tender loving care...
Fantastic little apartment that ticked all of the boxes for my needs. The location is tucked away and the area is quiet without feeling isolated as there are shops, restuarants and the beach nearby. The actuall apartment was fine for a 3 star and the housekeeping service was great, nothing too much trouble although it would of been better to know what time to expect the housekeepers. the receptionist (Chantelle I think her name was) who checked me out on 15th Sept 2017, was warm, helpful and very accomodating. My biggest gripe was paying the $60 dollars for temperamental wifi only allowed on 2 devices for the whole stay. Overall I had a wonderful stay at no 4 Halcyon palm and will be coming back next year.
I have stayed at these apartments for the past 2 years but OMG they have been badly neglected, I stayed in no 23 ground floor apartment, no microwave, no cooking bowls or oven trays and the saucepan I wouldn't use it to boil an egg! The fridge was dirty and had othe people's things left in it. I had to clean the whole apartment. The sheets were threadbare , no blankets. No table and chairs outside I had to find some from other empty apartments. Supposed to be self catering but I could not cook anything had to eat out or just make a sandwich. BUT the noise from the locals who use the apartments but totally unbearable, load music until 2am children running around and throwing rubbish everywhere, they broke glass in the pool so it could not be used.secuity guard did nothing only saw him once! I had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper and when I asked for my room to be cleaned the maid just swept up. And the worst bit they put the price up over £300 more than last year!!!!!
