The room was very good, clean and spacious for being old and there was a balcony. The layout of the hotel is groups of rooms spread all over this hill separated by roads, very unique, quaint. Good for exercise and nice walking. Easy walk to Bar Harbor, but up hill the way back. However, in the room we had no working phone and the fire alarm kept going off, I finally had to disarm and remove the battery, I advised the front desk by cellphone early in our stay, but not until the last day did some just place a ceiling alarm on the table next to the coffee maker. I called by cellphone and asked if they were going to clean the room on the third day, and was told they didn’t know for sure but maybe in the afternoon. Nope, We never got a room clean until the late afternoon of the last full day... At the restaurant on the first day, we arrived and it was very slow and 3 tables were dirty by the window. The whole point of the restaurant was the view. We asked if we could have one cleared for breakfast for the view. The host, the server, a busboy type just kept walking around putting napkins on empty tables in the center and offering coffee. After 10 minutes we asked if a table could be cleared obviously noticing that any of the 3 people could easily pick up 2 plates, 2 glasses and utensils from a dirty table. The host said and I quote "I will call someone to come and clear a table,” I found that response shocking. So none of the employees clear tables? They have to call someone?
Place was clean, the bus to Main Street Bar Harbor stopped right on property. We were able to use all the amenities available to the sister hotel which was great.
We loved the location as very close to Bar Harbor on hill. Large property and office check in was a little difficult. It appears to be two hotels are now joined and only one office. Room was comfortable and had nice deck overlooking grass and trees - no water view. We liked the pool and hot tub area. We didn’t like bathroom as small and sink space non existent. Staff was helpful and pleasant but nothing outstanding. Restaurant only open for breakfast but on top of hill with outstanding view of harbor. Given location value and view we would stay here again.
When we first pulled up to the property, we weren’t impressed. I heard some exclaim,”It looks like the motel in Schitt’s Creek!” We had to check in at the other hotel on the property, The Blue Nose, which is gorgeous, but out of my price range. We went to our room at the Wonder View and I have to admit, the room was really nice inside! The bed was incredibly comfortable. It was updated and clean. We were able to walk into town from the motel which was great because the one night we drove in, we had trouble finding parking and there was a fee. There is also a shuttle stop right outside the motel that takes you to town and Acadia. You get to use both pools at the Blue Nose as well as sit on the deck with the fire pit and attend the piano playing which is 6 nights a week. I refuse to pay a lot for a place to stay because we spend so little time in the room. In my opinion, this motel was a great deal, especially with getting to use the amenities of the pricier hotel on the property! Just remember, don’t judge a book by it’s cover!
This was our first time in Arcadia Nation Park. We picked the Wonder View Inn via the recommendation of Orbitz and limited availability. It turned out the stay was a pleasing surprise. Although the buildings are not the most up-to-date, the cleanliness and spacious of the room plus quietness make our stay really joyful. The only complaint we had was the shower water was little and it was hard to shower my 3 yo son. highly recommended!!
Our room is big enough to fit a rollaway bed! It is very nice that this inn is connected with Bluenose inn so that we enjoyed the facilities of both inns. These are positive surprises.
The service personnel were EXCELLENT and friendly! However the rooms were VERY OLD, dingy, and gross. Plus the price you pay is cheap for the area, but overall premium for what you get. Wonder View Inn is owned by Blue Nose next door. Wonder View is just your average motel experience with drive up door parking and VERY OLD rooms. The window and door mouldings are crumbling and rotting, the bathroom ceiling lights have dozens of dead insects inside, and the entire room smelled as soon as you walked in. The Blue Nose however looks very modern, clean, and has a pool, spa, and gym. You check in at the Blue Nose so it seems to be the same ownership. The entire time I wished I was staying at the Blue Nose instead. However Blue nose was about $100-150 more per night on top of the already expensive prices as Wonder View.
The Wonder View was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The room I was in was certainly adequate and clean, but very dated. It looked like some of the rooms would have gorgeous views of Frenchman’s Bay. I didn’t but I’m sure that’s why my room was quite inexpensive given the high tourist volume of Bar Harbor.
Enjoyed the private entrance and ocean view balcony during covid. 20 mon walk to town was nice and worth star gazing on the balcony.
The room is clean, 🛌 is comfortable enough. Shower has almost no water pressure and you really are not enjoying it. The door lock isn't working from inside and if you forgot your key then you are in trouble. There is no service. We stated 3 nights and we asked to fix the Shower at first day, nobody iven came to look
As others commented, the rooms are a bit outdated but, perfectly usable. One big exception is the bathroom sink. Our room had a small sink which would have been okay except they put a glass shelf directly above the sink. So, you have to choose between hitting your head on the shelf or getting water on the floor while rinsing your mouth or shaving. They should get rid of the shelf since it doesn't really add anything useful and causes a problem.
THE PROPERTY IS A LITTLE DATED BUT VERY CLEAN, EXCELLENT STAFF, GREAT LOCATION AND A BEAUTIFUL OVERLOOK OF THE HARBOR FROM THE RESTAURANT AND DECK. THEY EVEN HAVE A FREE BUS THAT SHUTTLES YOU IN TO TOWN EVERY 15 MINUTES. IT'S ALSO AN EASY WALK. I WOULD DEFINITELY BOOK THERE AGAIN.
The ladies and gentlemen of the Wonder View Inn were professional, friendly, and helpful. The Inn was clean and quiet with a nice breakfast offered. We sadly received tragic news from home and had to cut our vacation short. We gave 4 days notice but still charged a $25 cancellation fee. Not terrible, but I personally feel they will easily book that room over the next 4 days.
We had great view of the harbor from our balcony and we had a excellent dinner at the looking glass Restaurant. Steve was our waiter and he was Awesome !!
We were very impressed with our stay. Our room was HUGE (2 king beds) and we had a nice view of the ocean from the windows and our deck. The restaurant on site was really nice too. It was right next to our room so we went out and had a drink their while the live music was on. We also had breakfast here in the AM and it was delicious! We will certainly stay here again. It was only a 10 minute walk to downtown or they had bikes you could use too if you wanted.
worn out very outdated deck looked unsafe cigarette burns in bath floor
A great find, totally made for a wonderful stay despite the rain and construction out on Rte. 3! A perfect spot, and very dog-friendly!

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're happy that you were able to enjoy the room. We apologize for missing the mark when it came to addressing your smoke alarm. We will follow up with our facilities maintenance team on this. Regarding the restaurant, we're so sorry to hear of your experience. With the number of tables left uncleared and the several staff members walking around placing napkins on tables, it sounds like they had just gotten through a very busy time. Several of our staff members, including our host speak English as a second language and "call" is their way of expressing that they will ask someone to do something such as call on the busser to clear and reset the desired table. In any case, we apologize for the delay and lapse in communication.
