So the stay here was about 3 years ago but i remember this again today because that was memory with my husband there. :) The room is very simple and i think a smart interior for a small room that we stayed at. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Room was really neat and clean also not too far from place to get something to eat in the night. Don't worry, the Hotel staffs are really friendly, i found it was a bit hard to get direction going around the city but they assisted us with a lill huddle how to go here and there. :D
Only stayed here for one night and I couldn’t be happier. The building smelled like an old building. The bathroom is so small. Looks like a portable bathroom. Hand spray faucet for toilet was leaked so the wooden floor on the bathroom was wet. It wasn’t pleasant to looked at and to stepped on. The water in the shower wasn’t flow properly so there was pool in the shower floor. Location wise it’s decent.
I was put up here for 3 nights on business but checked out after 1 to go elsewhere. Positives - nice friendly staff Negatives - thin walls, poor ventilation, filthy sink, no space, lots of corridor and neighbouring room noise. I asked for a smoking room and was given one with no ventilation, no means of opening a window, and no ashtray. The 'restaurant and bar' has no ambience at all and is surrounded by glass meaning it gets uncomfortably hot and stuffy like a greenhouse. I checked out after 1 night. If I hadn't been really tired and hungry I'd have checked out after 1 hour. It's maybe ok for a quick 1 night work stay, but if you're in town any longer than that and want any proper comfort then spend a little bit extra and go elsewhere.
First night and tried ordering room service at 10.30 PM and nobody picked up the phone, tried the front desk, operator and all were ringing off the hook. Finally when down to lobby only to discover all staffs were available, there were 2 receptionists, 2 restaurant staffs, a couple of admin staffs. Everyone just tried to give excuses as to why no one picked up the phone. This is just plain crazy hotel, nobody seemed to want to seriously do their jobs.
Friendly reception, the bathroom could have been cleaner. The views are not spectacular, but I was pleasantly surprised to see CNN as an English news channel. Good breakfast too! All in all it`s a good stay.
Ibis balikpapan is on of recommended place to stay for budget traveler in Balikpapan. Hotel's location is superb, room was very nice although they only have 1 room type, breakfast was nice, hotel rate was fair, but the room were so small so we can't put extra bed on it
The hotel for airline people and casual travelers. The advantages for staying here: half. The price for rates. The next door Novotel permits use of pool and fitness center gratis...but don't eat there. Ibis has pleasant staff, hot water, generally reliable internet access and is close to the center of the city. Good value for money.
AC was too cold and could not be adjusted so you need to turn it off. Plus, the white bed sheets, towels and blankets were dirty. They have to change those immediately. they look bad. The breakfast menu was okay. The room was a bit small but the service was okay. lunch menu okay.
Check-in / out processes were effective, nice breakfast (many options to choose), and the room was quite. Value for money, of course. Moreover, it's very close to the city attractions. Whenever you want to try something different, you can just walk to Taman Bekapai for Balikpapan's street food at night, or to the nearby mall.
As the title described .... not like what it used to be ! Pick up was late ... arriving in hotel checkin was slow . The room ... was missing laundry bag and small things ( maybe cleaned by trainee ) I requested a non smoking room but the bathroom obviously smelt like people had been smoking there ? Why management doesn't do anything about this ? The tv signal was really bad ... couldn't watch TV . The food .... it was really bad . Furthermore they didn't have what I wanted ... only having 5 western items it is not good not to have stock ! The lumpia was disgusting with noodles inside ... They kept calling my room and furthermore wake up time was wrong ! Don't go here .
