I would recommend this hotel, although it's an old hotel with a little bit renovation, but the location is very good, near the Kuta beach, you could take a sunset walk on the beach and finding dinner on BeachWalk Mall next to it. It also has 2 clean swimming pool and also suitable for family with young children
We liked the hotel a lot. The Indonesian touch was great. You feel the local atmosphere a lot. Breakfasts were also good - with lots of choices. Yes, the walls of the rooms are thin and you can hear your neighbors, but this is not a very big deal since we only slept in the hotel. The hotel is very close to Kuta Beach and also not far from Legian and Seminyak. Hotel stuff was nice and helpful. Even though I asked them to sing some post-cards for me and the still didn’t come. Still waiting. Would totally recommend this hotel.
We stayed at Wina and had quite a nice stay. Pools lovely. Rooms nice and clean. Tea and Coffee in rooms. We had a second floor room in the back section which was lovely and quiet until a couple moved in next door and then we could hear everything they were saying and safe being opened and doors opening and closing. This was not because they were noisy just because walls dont seem to be very thick. Other than that nice hotel. Breakfast ok but very simple.
The Wina Holiday Villa is only a short walk to Kuta beach, the always popular Legian street and so many restaurants and attractions. The staff are so friendly and go out of their way to help.. I have not been disappointed with the service at The Wina.
This hotel is one of our favourites, meet so many people here, lots of Aussie tourists. Friendly staff and breakfast not great but OK. Pools are in great location get heaps of sun, pool bar great atmosphere to meet other people. Location of hotel has to entrances so can access the back of the alleys and shop in the markets. Great little cheap restaurants near by prefect for a cheap enjoyable snack
4 of us stayed here for 12 nights, checked out on Nov. 6 and the hotel suited us fine. The bathrooms could use up-dating, but there was plenty of hot water, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked fine - I even found extra pillows stashed in the bottom of the cupboard. I've read many complaints about the wi-fi, but didn't find it a problem. Inside the room it was really slow but all I had to do was walk outside to the patio and the connection was fine. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and smiling, from the bartenders to the cleaners to the people working the front desk, who were really helpful in confirming our airport pick-up. the location is handy to everything - a short walk down the front lane to the beach, and an equally short walk through the back gate and down the lane to lots of shops and restaurants. In my opinion its a solid 3 star hotel and I would recommend it as such.
After traveling around Java we came to Wina for 5 days. The hotel has a nice authentic Balinese style. The room and bathroom were clean, but the bathroom needs to be updated to today’s standards. At breakfast you could choose between traditional Indonesian and western food. The hotel has 2 swimming pools, a large one and a smaller one. Which both have a bar area. Overall it’s an average hotel. I would say it’s a 2,5 star hotel, and definitely not a 3 star.
I made this review on my last day (of 5 nights in total) because I wanted to give a clear opinion: Pro's: - close to the beach, 5 min walk - they clean your room every day, even if you don't put the sign on (so on the other side: always put your valuables away) - rooms are clean - quite authentic Indonesian atmosphere with statues and gardens - 2 pools that are a bit apart so it spreads out the people Cons: - don't come here if you have work to do, there's barely wifi around - staff behind the counter often looked very desinterested - don't book anything, excursions or massages in the hotel (it's almost double the price) - 4 earwigs in my shower / bath on two different days - breakfast is very basic I payed $85 AUD a night for this hotel, if you look at value for money I think I should've payed roughly $60ish. (Note: I'm not very picky since I usually stay in $10/night homestays since I've been backpacking Asia for several months, just stayed here because of family.)
Stayed at Wina in September 2017. We have been staying here 2 or 3 times a year for the past 5 years. Services have been deteriorating rapidly over the past few visits. Internet is virtually non existent. Many nights you find guests sitting in the lobby area trying to get some sort of connection. I have complained last few times only to receive feeble excuses and passing the blame on others. The wifi connection times out before you can even log on. It was so bad I could not get anything done on my computer. We had prepaid to stay for over a week so couldn't get a refund. Nevertheless we left our room empty and booked in next door to see what their wifi was like. It was excellent. No delays, no problems and quick connection. Bonus was a traditional Bali breakfast. So if you are there on a business trip or use social media, do not stay at Wina. We couldn't even go on social media to check what was happening with the volcano. The breakfast menu at Wina is is disgusting. When we first stayed there the food was a lot better. More traditional. Exactly what you want to experience when you go there. This time it was: 1. Corn floating in milk 2. Potato slices 3. Steamed rice with peas in there for colour 4. Vegetable tempura. This should have been called Batter Tempura and there was virtually no vegetables in the batter. 5. Sliced processed chicken from deli. I guess it is our time to move on. Next door was a better price, better service and better breakfast.
Friendly and helpful staff! Love the two pools. Great to hang out and lounge if you want to. Enjoyed the breakfast each day to start things off. Remodeling taking place at the entrance. Rooms are dated and could stand improvement. Good air conditioning. Great access to the beach and shopping! Wifi is good in the lobby and pool, but not in the rooms. Good value for the price?
