If you are any race that is not white, or anything different than a bogan white Australian, do not stay here. It is for Australian bogans only, If you are harassed the management will tell you that they do not care cause you are not Australian. Australian white people only allowed, The staff only treat Australians with respect and the Aussies only treat each other with respect at this hotel. Basically, worst place I have been to in 30 countries and 100s of hotels. I travelled with local friends and that was a big mistake, Indonesians are not allowed in this hotel no matter if they pay or not, This is the worst hotel you can stay in Kuta. I wish I never went and still have anger in my mind since. I hope that nobody has to be put through what I had happened to me there. Thanks to management for understanding! Also loud music and screaming bogans at 10am is a little much. At around noon i understand but at 10?

The staff are amazing and so very helpful the rooms are clean and comfortable room with pool access is a must. The breakfast is delicious except you cannot drink the coffee it is undrinkable but you can buy a cafe latte for three dollars cleaning staff amazing room service staff are wonderful the only downfall would be that sometimes they’re allowed Aussie Bogans making too much noise late at night. Great location and reasonably priced it is more of a three star than 3.5 I love that they are ecologically minded. Good area with lots of places close to shop and have massages however the best shopping is in poppies Lane one not Lane two.

Whilst travelling Asia and Indonesia we stopped in Kuta Beach for 4 nights for NYE and stayed at the Grand Barong... it was fab. very clean, fun hotel! Breakfast fabulous and atmosphere great. We ended up in the bar next door for the NY countdown which was a lot of fun!!

Great place to stay if you wanted to be close to the nightlight in Kuta and feel safe. Very affordable clean an and staff are lovely and always keen to help. I been back to this property now 3 times and highly recommended it.

Front office staff not too helpful and good attentive to us.. Is it because we are local people in Bali? not a foreigner? I arrived early around 9 am at the hotel and I understand too early to check in. then I want to leave hotel around 11.30 pm, asked if I can check in first, a lady handed me a form to sign which I believe that should be a check in process. only a form, and when she saw 3 of us, she directly asked straight away to add extra bed, as hotel policy. Hmm..you call yourself 4 stars hotel, but cannot ask politely for adding extra bed, to me what she said it's an order, not question or ask. I replied with yes, and please put all our luggage in the room. they said cannot. then around 9 pm we back to hotel, and when I asked key, the front office asked again for our ID, which I believe if they want my ID, should be asked together with form to sign. We are so tired, they still asking and need to wait for a copy. What a day..this is surely not 4 stars hotel service. Then when enter the room I,m very disappointed to see inside, no 4stars room at all. the next day, we asked for daily cleaning, when we got back, the floor is still dirty, no mineral water refilled in the room. For the price I paid for deluxe room, it's way too expensive for this 3 stars hotel rank actually. don't understand why you can put 4 stars hotel with this kind of service. This is my first time and last time.

We decided to try the Grand Barong a second time and it is highly favoured by Aussie Bogans wearing Bintang singlets and drinking bintangs. They are noisy, inconsiderate and selfish, shouting down corridors and making their presence felt. It is a shame for Australia that these people represent our country. I'm an Australian myself. The staff are great and friendly and helpful. The rooms are still quite basic, just a bit worn out. If you need peace and quiet and relaxation, this won't work for you while the Aussies are in residence. Such a shame for the People that manage this hotel. And, the other guests.

Apart from the room mix up at the start the least I can say about is great! The rooms where good size room service was quick and both pools were excellent and clean. Pool bar was not just drinks there was food as well. Not to mention a range of dishes priced at $3.50. Staff were very friendly and all facility's clean. And this hotel is in the middle of poppies 2! Perfect hotel if you are on a budget but still want a half decent, relaxing hotel!

We enjoyed our stay at The Grand Barong. Breakfast was ok, not too crowded. Rooms were modern, clean and well equipped. The two pools were nice, although a few groups were partying loudly in the pools and the noise carries into the rooms. This hotel is in the middle of Poppies2 and has a great sports bar out the front, plus restaurants handy. There is a great massage place across the road and a pharmacy and convienence stores close by. There is a great money changer in the foyer too. We will stay here again

Excellent staff, beautiful rooms & central to everything - and breakfast was awesome! Rooms were a good size and bed was so comfortable. Poolside food great value and delicious. The sports bar downstairs is fantastic and also offer great meals and lovely staff, Could't ask for more from a resort.....have already booked again for next May!!

Never got to stay as the reservation staff proved to be very unhelpful with changing a reservation. At first they were understanding and co-operative, but changed their tune and issued deadlines for new reservation dates which I just couldn't meet. I now have dates in place (still 3 months away) but it won't be honoured. Emails are being ignored and they've taken my deposit. Very unprofessional and disappointing.
