Great location for true OBX experience! Close to Ocracoke ferry and amazing access to the beach! Great shell and rock hounding! Facility's internet access stunk and no operating ice machine. Great dining at the Cockeyed Clam!

We were there for one night, The room was clean and comfortable. We were greeted by a smiling hostess at the front desk, knowledgeable about the surrounding area and had a great recommendation for dinner. A very good experience overall.

The hotel is older and showing some of its age. However the room was clean and well stocked with towels and plenty of hot water. The front desk called us on check in day to find out our arrival time and had some fabulous recommendations of where find restaurants that were open, as we were there in off season and most places were not open yet. We will most definitely stay there again.

Good place and good value. Paper thin walls that you can hear every conversation from the next room through, and some minor damage to the room that wasn’t repaired. No soap in the shower soap container which was frustrating. Overall though, good service, nice staff, and good value. Would stay again if traveling through.

Best for Money Hotel in the Area

Overall, a great place to stay in the area of limited choices. Needed improvements are: 1) "Hot" water was just barely warm making showers not as pleasant as they should be. 2) TV signals were pixelating on some channels. The whole system needs to be checked for proper signal levels. 3) Staff should ensure that all lights in the room are working. I had to plug in a lamp near the bed. Bulbs with only warm white color temperature would be best. Too many cool white bulbs were installed. 4) Bathroom fan very noisy. This is very common around the country as building contractors use the cheapest fans they can get...and they don't last. Suggested additions: -bottled water ($.10 at Costco/Sams). The local water is not that great taste wise. It's definitely "island water." -AC power strips with USB charging. Sometimes, people brng lots of electronics with them!

wellllll...when the heat came on it sounded like a mack truck was coming through the front window. when the heat wasnt on the pipes somewhere in the building was groaning so loud it would wake you. on friday i tried to watch a ballgame on tv but the pixels were so bad that i couldnt so i just listened to the game. when i got up on sat the tv wouldnt even come on so i packed up and left a day early. oh yes i forgot that when i first got there the room they gave me had a filthy tub and i told them i wouldnot take a shower in that room and they did give me another
