We were on the fifth floor facing the IHOP on Driskill Street. I was initially concerned about street noise, but it wasn't an issue. The building is very quiet. The unit itsellf was clean and well appointed. Having a full size washer and dryer minimized the amount of clothing we needed to bring. In direct feedback to Locale I suggested that they add a plastic pitcher to make iced tea and rolls of plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Other than those items, the kitchen had the basics (olive oil, salt, pepper, coffee, coffer filers for machine and drip system, large selection of teas and assorted bagged condiments, suger, and non-sugar sweeteners, dishes, cookware, cutting boards, utensils). I noted that the Brita water filter was blinking for a filter change. I texted late in the day and got an immediate respond that it would be taken care of the next morning. I was expecting to find the filter on the counter, but when I followed up, I was told that the filter had been changed while we were out. The gym is small, but adequate. We were able to print our boarding passes in the business center. If you walk down Rainey Street you hit the walking trail by the river. Turn left to walk a loop (part shade, part sun) that takes you back over the Congress Street bridge. The loop took me almost exactly on hour to walk. Trader Joes is about a 25 minute walk away. We walked there and ride shared back. All and all, we had a great stay and I will definitely look for Locale in other cities. Thanks to Locale, keep up the good work.
Very modern decor and everything I needed for a week-long stay in Austin. Roku TV was good. Tea selection was great along with everything I needed in the kitchen. Plenty of power sockets to charge my devices and a quiet location to take conference calls too. Check in instructions were clear and booking was seamless. Great customer service.
I was in Austin for a conference at the convention center and this location was perfect. Tons of bars down Rainey street for late night entertainment. The instructions for the access to the building and room were perfect. Price was lower than the hotels around the area. Lots of space and very modern and clean.
Definitely a 5 star stay. Location is perfect. I stayed on the side of the building facing the IHOP (room 323) which was very quiet. My stay was for business reasons, so it was nice to hit the bars across the street with clients and walk "home" in about 30 seconds. The one bedroom is very large with two sinks, a large walk-in closet, very nice kitchen and excellent furnishings. I would pick this over a hotel 11 times out of 10. Another friend of mine stayed facing the highway which is only an issue, he said, when someone at 3AM decides to do 90mph. I did look at the two negative reviews. One reviewer didn't realize it was inside a high end apartment complex. I can understand, but I personally think this is a better stay. The other person's car was towed. I can definitely understand the frustration there but I can also understand how The Locale would have difficulty fixing the issue - I've had my car towed before and the worst of humanity runs those businesses. Coffee machine is great. There is a very nice gym which wasn't too crowded. Fun is right outside the front door. Lastly, check-in is all digital and very simple.
This was my first time renting an Airbnb. My experience with this rental was wonderful! Communication was quick and easy throughout. Parking and entry directions were simple and clear. You can’t beat this location - right on Rainey street where it is walkable to nearby restaurants and trendy bars. The lobby is beautiful with a free coffee bar. The facilities were clean and modern with access to a nice gym, and awesome rooftop pool, I also saw a large communal hang out area and a business center. The rental was clean and spacious, decorated nicely, balcony, washer dryer, plenty of bedroom and bathroom and closet space, a large kitchen area great for gatherings with our group of 5. The place was stocked with all necessities, and included coffee/tea and a water filter pitcher which was a nice touch. The beds were pretty comfortable. The only minor critique would be that the shower had low water pressure, and also the pull out bed sheets had a few stains. Also, you can hear a little noise from the highway. Other than that our stay was perfect! Would definitely rent again! Thank you for a great first experience!
Check in was a breeze and it was a very nice property. The workout facility and pool are solid too. Nice to be so close to everything but feel like I had my own space, kitchen etc. There is a little grocery store up he street (5 min walk) called Blue Royal. You can get all of your basic stuff to stock your kitchen during your say. Two thumbs up!
Instructions on where to park, how to get into building, etc were easy to follow. Room was clean and very comfortable. Location was perfect for exploring Rainey Street and downtown Austin. I would pick Locale Rainey Street any day over a hotel! Hope to be back again.
We chose to stay with Locale on our recent visit to Austin and were so glad we did. We had an extremely comfortable, spacious, well equiped apartment in the best location. Rainey St was such a lively place with so many bars and restaurants and a good deli to buy provisions when we just wanted some quiet time. An easy walk to the river and into downtown. Although we had no face to face contact with the Locale staff they were most helpful in our dealings with them through email and phone. We were even able to stow our luggage after checkout as we had a late afternoon flight. We loved Austin and would not hesitate to stay there again.
I can’t say enough about this property! Phenomenal location, extremely clean, great atmosphere and very easy from start to finish!! Had an incredible time And we will definitely stay there the next time we visit Austin!
Trying to think of any cons to staying here, and couldn’t think of a thing. It’s right at the beginning of Rainey street, which we loved. We walked to the Capital from here and to Sixth street—maybe 10 minutes away? Also walked home after the SoCo bridge bat flight with ease. Uber rides were never more then 5 min wait. Water pressure in the bathroom was great, bed comfortable, although we didn’t need the sofa bed so can’t speak to that. We stayed on the side facing the highway, but didn’t have any issue with highway noise—thought the windows did a good job keeping that out. Nice huge closet right off the bathroom, nice if one person is getting ready and the other still sleeping. Very clean overall, and I’m pretty picky about that. Coffee and nice selection of tea, sugars, cream provided. Really liked the shampoo and soap dispensers in the shower, appreciated that environmentally friendly touch. Even though this building is in a “party section”, there was no noise or mess from drunk people. Absolutely no noise from other apartments. This area was really fun, but we never witnessed any obnoxious behavior. Sunday afternoon was a hoot here. Bangers and Icenours had really fun bands. Super responsive to texts, got replies within minutes, actually took this place instead of another in this building based on that alone. The building seems to be a mix of vacation rentals and full time tennants, which I bet keeps it nice. The pool and gym were fabulous, super clean and well kept. Everything here looks exactly like the pictures.
