We had to move here after our Motel 6 in Atlanta was fully booked after 3 days due to Hurricane Florence. We had a larger room with 2 beds and fridge and microwave, booked for 3 days. While housekeeping was awkward as they just shoved things into my arms when I asked for extra set of towels, I requested no service from them until 3rd day to change sheets while we were gone and they actually emptied the trash and gave us fresh towels so I was happy. This location has many people living here and was very noisy, a lot of children and animals. Great access from the highway but I would not recommend this location for retirees and will not stay here again myself but the people I did encounter was friendly. Front desk needs some customer service training, not friendly enough and the elevator kept breaking down and the ice machine was a joke.
Do not stay here! The area is bad, the clientele are shady, the room bathrooms are in mass disrepair, and the local businesses are full of seedy locals. This place is NOT worth the almost $100 a night I paid for it. It is in a very bad area of town. There were locals all over the parking lot and inside the hotel, the America's Best Value Inn next door, and both restaurants (Popeye's and Wendy's) at the start of the property. It makes for a tremendously unsafe feeling. I even saw clientele walking large bully breed dogs around, so apparently that's something this hotel is okay with. I witnessed literal hookers, drug deals, and people walking out of the hotel with masks over their faces getting ready to do God knows what. I booked a smoking room. They've not bothered to change what their room descriptions say, since as of March Dekalb county passed a no smoking ordinance forcing smokers to smoke in only one spot on the property thereby exposing them to possible unwanted interaction from the locals. The lobby is nice, shiny floors, modern front desk style, but that's where it ends. The hallways are lined with outdated, dirty carpet. The fathers of the people that run the hotel literally stand in the hallway and stare at random guests' doors, as I witnessed this more than once. The room: absolutely no storage available! No dresser or nightstand drawers...we had to live like animals with our stuff all over the floor because there was no where to put it! Beds were nice and comfortable, laminate floors, nice wall colors but those were the only nice things about the room. THE BATHROOM. What a nightmare! No exhaust fan to filter out steam from bath or poo smells, and as small as the bathroom was (barely big enough for 1 person) there should be an exhaust fan. The paint was peeling off the walls inside the tub. Just pick another area in town to stay in.
This motel has evil front desk people who make excuses why they can't do their job. No house keeping the whole time, told me to get my own towels & sheets from laundry and stand in line cause other people are down there as well trying to get linen. Workers very lazy bed bugs, loud nosies all day. Bad security people coming in & out all night slamming doors. But can't help you when they stealing from you. Bad place to stay. I give them maybe 3 more years before they shut down. Have a photo of the night security guy who is very rude on facebook check him out. So when you see him no that he is not a good person. The manager skinny India lady and that black security guard are the worst people iv ever met as a visitor from out of town and truely will make sure everyone know how unfriendly this place is. Anyone who get a photo of these 2 should post them please I need them for my blog.
This was my first time staying at a motel 6 and my experience was great. I stayed as a result of a concert that was going on in Atlanta Ga. When I first entered the motel the attendant (Mrs.Pratiksha) greeted me with respect and a honest invitation of wanting my business. She and the staff here very helpful with answering many of the questions I had about the area and placed to eat. Once I checked in at the front deck, I was ask if I needed any assistance with luggage or finding my assigned room. That showed great customer service and that the staff were experienced with dealing with different personalities.Once I entered my room,I new from first sight that I was going to enjoy sleeping here. The bed (1 king size) was clean and made-up with white linen and a fuffy pillow (another great job for the housekeepers). I took a few photos for family and friends so they could see what a great motel I stayed at. No problems were encountered with the free wifi or TV channels. The wifi was fast. Other guests I met were nice, well mannered and respectful. My only complaint is that due my schedule I could't stay longer.Keep up the good work Motel 6 Decatur.I look forward to staying again in the near future.PS my room was 209 (11/28/17)
I have been staying at this motel 6 for about 2 weeks now, and the staff here are wonderful. The front desk staff is always courteous and helpful, and the General Manager, Happy, is a true joy. Happy is always wearing a smile. He is extremely friendly, and always stops to just hold a friendly chat and make sure that all is going great with your stay. I have truly enjoyed my stay.
Well I Thing This is A Good Motel To Stay at.I Dont Have No Problems Here. The Front Staff Is Very Helpful. And Mr.Happy Go Out His Way To Make Sure People is Getting Every Thing They Need Way They Is Here!! Thanks All Staff and Housekeepers
This is the second room. The very first one was nasty too. And when I went to the manager and ask for at least a discount he told me " he cannot give me any discounts, he can refund me my money and I can check out and find another hotel." I also mentioned to him that I have health issues. We arrived there to check in at about 9:30 pm the night of the September 15th 2017 from Nashville tennessee. My friend also has pictures. Only one elevator worked.
There were sex stains and cigarette burns through out the comforter. The bath tub was so dirty it's no longer white. Roaches were walking across the floor. The elevator did not work. The TV did not work. Customer service so neither friendly or accommodating. Its very hard to get your money back when you use third parties such as TripAdvisor. Stay away from this motel unless you want to sleep with your clothes and shoes on. Do yourself a favor and pay a little more somewhere else. Big mistake to stay there.
