Was flying out of the Atlanta airport looking for a reasonable place to stay for a few hours. This hotel was in close proximity to the airport and offered a good rate. The room I received was clean and neat. The rest of the hotel looks like it might need some maintenance. Would stay there again given the room that I had this time.
Me and my wife stayed here for 3 nights while we took our vacation in Atlanta. The place is old and needs a bit of work but for the price we paid, we got everything and more. The room was clean and had a microwave and fridge.
The overall room was clean (meaning, clean sheets and clean surfaces) and there were no bugs. There is ample storage for your clothes and a useful desk area. Plenty of sockets to charge up your electronics and free wifi. Ample hot water, good heat and plenty of cable channels. My room was very quiet - didn't hear my neighbors at all. All corridors of the property is well lit at night. Terrible food options in the immediate area, so be prepared to walk far or take a cab or order delivery. The reason why I can't give more stars is b/c 1) the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. It looked like it never gets cleaned. The shower walls were stained yellow, the shower floor was brown and the door and door jamb were covered in a dirty film. The floors and shower baseboard were streaked with grime. 2) The comforter on the bed had small, circular brown stains on it. 3) the water drains extremely slow, making for a disgusting shower experience. you'll be standing in the all the soapy grime until the tub drains...which takes forever.
Though I'll admit that as other reviewers have stated this property isn't in the best neighborhood and it's also true it's a bit worn around the edges but we didn't necessarily feel in danger at anytime. We needed only one night to get some rest before continuing onwards and this Econo Lodge was right off the highway so it served its' purpose. Our room was large and the bed comfortable, and though the room was clean enough the shower curtain in the bathroom did have some unsightly mold. The rate was inexpensive and location was what we needed so we had no major complaints, this property would be a lot better option if they just spiffed it up a bit!
This hotel should not be apart of Choice Hotels as the parking & parking is not good pot holes and some deep swells. The stairs are steel and very dangerous if wet at all you better hold on to the rail or you will fall. If there is any rain & lighting you will get fried. The whole place is full with cigarette butts and people keep their doors open at night and you can hear all kinds of noise in the middle of the night. The room well that is a major issue as it is like they never clean them 1st the carpet smells 2nd the bathroom is the worst thing to see as the bath tub hasn't been clean in months there was black scum all over it and the shower curtain had blood and mole all over it and the shower curtain pole was broken as it was being held up by 1 screw. The WiFi is a joke it won't stay on for no longer than 5 minutes so couldn't do any work.
This was by far the worst hotel/motel stay in my entire life. I booked 5 rooms over the phone with choice hotels. We waited till longer than we should have to reserve a room so many area hotels were booked. I chose this hotel because of the choice hotel chain. We were traveling with our church youth group. Upon arrival there were several shady individuals hanging around the outside of the hotel. What seemed to be prostitutes were pacing back and forth. We asked the youth to remain inside the vans while we checked in because we felt the environment was very unsafe. Check in seemed to take a very long time. Not sure if it was slow computers or what the problem was. Our rooms were not together we were spread out between two separate floors. Upon entering the room there was no AC. The smell in the non-smoking rooms was rancid. The smell of marijuana was very strong in the bathrooms. We never once felt safe. The bath tubs were dirty. Extra furniture was also stored in the rooms. The free WIFI didn't work at all. It showed connection but never would load anything. We felt so unsafe that we actually had people join rooms for safety and left the other room empty. We also feared the safety of our vehicles. The AC didn't work in one room. During the night we placed a chair in front of the door in fear that someone would break in. The next morning we went to the ice machine to fill our water bottles and could not because of the green and black residue residing on the entire machine. Breakfast was wrapped muffins and juice. Overall it was a horrible experience and we would NEVER return to this establishment!!
I had a very nice stay here, three nights, no issues. Room was clean and comfortable, easy location right off the I-285 loop, and a very reasonable rate. The free breakfast is nothing to write home about, but it was adequate for me (cereal, muffins, juice). An unexpected bonus was that there was a mini-frig in the room which had not been listed as one of the amenities when I made the reservation, so I could stock some drinks and snacks of my own.
Location is great since it's right of of 285. Rooms were fair.. I can't remember the lady's name who was at the front desk, it may have been patel, in the morning, but she was great. I even offered her a tip, but she did not take it.
Ok where do I begin. When I checked in the lady at the front desk was absolutely nice. She was helpful and pleasant. Now when I got to my room. I was not that pleased. I wasn't feeling well so I didn't notice all the wrong things. But after getting up I saw that there was no smoke detector in room it was ripped from the wall. The air conditioning ran like a old truck all night long. The toilet stopped working the next morning but I was told it would be fixed later? Yea it was fixed after 11am I reported it after 6am. So anyway I later found out that this hotel was known for prostitution but to its defense I didn't see anything. I felt safe overall. It was rather quiet. It really needs an overhaul of the bathroom tubs toilets and carpets.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were met by a charming young lady when we checked in. She was very courteous and ensured that we had everything that we needed for our stay. They offered us 24 hour coffee service and a wonderful continental breakfast with a large variety of items to choose from. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We were on the ground floor and there was no outside noise the entire night. Another feature that I appreciated as a traveler is the interstate is located right beside the motel. If I were traveling through Atlanta again and had to stay over night I would most definitely stay there again.
