President Hotel4.0 out of 5.0

Rooms are furnished with really old and dirty stuff. Breakfast includes bad qualifed foods. The carpets in the hotel room smelled mold. There was a split airconditioning instead generalized one. Internet connection was poor. The windows of the rooms were very dirty, even it was no possible to see outside.
Stayed here a while ago. Wasn't impressed. Reception looks amazing. Just not followed through to the rooms. Feels a little like the budget run out after the reception. Hotel restaurant was expensive and not much selection. Breakfast was just awful. Everything was cold. Would not stay here again. Plenty of better hotels and apartments.
We spent 8 days at the 'President Hotel' and had a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly and helpful when we arrived, and the lobby was very grand. Our room was clean, we were on the 11th floor and the view was good. There was a couple of small issues e.g. the shower bracket was cracked and the shower head fell down when you turned the water off, the clothes line to use across the bath did not work, and one of the windows was a bit difficult to close. The pool on the roof penthouse was very nice, and everywhere was very clean. We were able to get a sun-bed every day, usually in the afternoon as we explored during the day. There was no charge for the sun-bed, but there was a charge if you used the internet in your room. The internet was available in the lobby and hotel bars free. You can walk into Athens centre, which took about 25 minutes, or there was a metro station near by which cost €1.40. Breakfast at the hotel was limited, and if the main restaurant was full they would send you to the overflow restaurant. This had no toast making facility available so you had to walk to the other restaurant, which was inconvenient. There was only cream sachets available for tea, so I got a cup of the cereal milk to use which made the tea taste nicer. We mainly went out to eat at night, there were restaurants near the hotel, or took the metro into Athens. We would definitely use this hotel again; we loved the pool with the amazing views of Athens.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean and spacious with a wonderful view. My only criticism was that when I arrived at that hotel at midnight there was no valet to assist me with all my luggage up to the room and I was traveling with three children (12. 9 and 4) so it was a bit difficult but not unmanageable. Other than that it was a perfect two nights. The breakfast was included with our stay and that was also wonderful. Will definitely be back again.
My feelings leaving where mixed. Breakfast is abysmal, and my the last day made me want to throw up. Pool is stunning. Cocktails very dear. Rooms dated but good air con. Took 20 minutes to check in due to very slow staff even tho we where the only people. Lobby is stunning but wifi is terrible. Also wifi in your room is 12 Euro and night. Like seriously, in this day and age wifi is a human right, get it sorted.
Stayed there last week, Checked-In around midnight coming from Santorini, the first thing I would say is that the Lobby and Reception looks so fancy.. which is total opposite to the rooms which are very old. When I booked the room online, I asked for smoking room, the Front office guy replied me "Will check if Available", anyway, got the room, it is like a standard sleeping box. Nothing inside, not even a small bottle of water (we came from Panormo station walking) and no place was opened to buy anything. BTW, when we booked the hotel we read carefully this description on Booking website: "Located in the heart of Athens and 500 m from Panormou Metro Station, President Hotel offers comfortable accommodation..." Be aware, IT IS NOT 500 M AT ALL, You need to walk around 10-15 min. from Panormou station. The shower handle is broken, the safe box cannot be used because of the side table and also the pin code procedure is wrong. The amazing thing is that there is a big HOLE in the bathroom wall, where I believe that a rat can live in in the bathroom, I believe a Rat can live there! The next day, we were going to a cruise trip from 7:00 AM to 8:30 PM, I informed the reception about the shower handle, we returned back to discover that nothing was done to fix it, I called the front office manager and he came up to check it, and to check the other stuff (most importantly the hole shown in the photo) He said that cannot do anything about that hole, and he offered two options: Changing the room or fixing the shower handle, We informed him that its his call, we just need a solution. However, the handle was fixed within half an hour maybe (we didnt ask to change the room because we were extremely exhausted to pack and unpack again). Breakfast is standard, nothing special, basics only. We asked for late checkout, the first time I checked with the lady at the reception she told me that it will be 35 Euros till 6:00 PM, which is Ok for us, and she told me that I have to inform them within the next day before 10:30, which I went actually and the other lady informed me that late check-out rate is 75 Euros till 6:00 PM!! We had an argument about it and finally she was accepted to give us the extension by 35 Euros. My recomendation is: If you have any other option, don't book this one! It is my last time to book a 4 stars one! honestly, for us, paying a little more to get good quality service is worthy during a vacation!
Continuing with our hotel expert, Option Travel, we arrived to Athens and once again .......they nailed an amazingly strategic hotel! President hotel is very central with delicious restaurants nearby, bus stop right in the corner. Very elegant, clean and with good choices in breakfast. Recommended!
President Hotel Athens located at Kifissias Avenue is a okay okay types Hotel for an Indian. Starting from my first day 28 August 2017, we had already booked our rooms before (5 Rooms), that too very early but after that also I didn't got any consecutive room, nor even same floor. 2 rooms in different floor and 3 rooms on different floor. I didn't thought too much about that and went on. Cons: * No complementary Water Bottle * No Kettle in the room * No free Wi-Fi in the room * No Hindi Channel on Television * Hair Dryer of very different kind and not at all working * For Indians, the hotel breakfast was pathetic. Nothing good to eat. * Biggest problem was that for Indians (who like spicy food) no water system for washing (toilet paper system) * Far from main markets like Monastiraki Pros: * Nice swimming pool * Nice view from Top * Close to Super Market * Close to only one Market that too very expensive one: Placa Overall review of room is 3 ⭐️. The Air Conditioner was good. The room got chilled in minutes. But we had to clean its filter as they haven't done it themselves. I'll suggest to search for better hotels like Hilton (if budget permits).
I Wouldn't recommend at all to anyone. Upon check in we where greeted by a Very unprofessional lady who has the customer service skills of a table. We then arrived in the room to find peeling wall paper, a bathroom door that doesn't lock and a toilet that hardly flushes. Being on the 8th floor, in a hotel with sound proofing windows, we expected the room to be quite , but actually could hear every car going past on the street below. As for the windows them self, they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in about 6 years. Then finding out that the wifi had to be paid for, €12 per day, we where not advised that this was only for 2 devices, so after connecting laptops then had to pay again to connect out mobile phones. The wifi was very temperamental and slow is a understatement. The shower smelt like sewerage, and the shower head wouldn't stay up either. So showering was only possibly by holding the head up. After phoning reception to ask for some towels, they said they would be up shortly, but didn't arrive for over 2 hours. All in all, for a hotel that states it's 4 stars, I'm appalled by it, and wouldn't ever recommend this to anyone.
When we arrived at the hotel they didn't seem to have any information on our online, payed, and several times confirmed booking. I had to forward the confirmation e-mails I received to the reception (on my own data, since the free wifi in the public spaces was terrible. They told us to wait (for a few minutes) in the lounge. Once seated we were rudely asked to go away by the waiter and to wait in the lobby since we didn't want to order anything at that time. Finally it took almost 50 minutes to check us in. No apologies for the delay. When we arrived at the room, there were only 3 beds, we had booked a triple room, but specified that we have 2 children. I had to go to the reception again to arrange another bed. In the mean time, the swimming pool was closed. The roof top swimming pool over looking Athens was one of the reasons why we booked this hotel for our last night in Greece. We went up to the roof bar/restaurant to have dinner. The food was good (no large portions though) and the waiter friendly. In fact, this man and the boy who came to put in the extra bed were the only friendly people we met in the hotel. There was almost no wifi in the restaurant. When we went to our room for the night, we noticed we had to have a code for wifi. At the reception we were asked to pay 12 EUR for internet on 2 devices. In the morning, we noticed that we didn't succeed to do a simple download of 3 songs on spotify during the night. When we complained about this at the reception (we believe it is a) not normal to pay for internet in a hotel in 2017 b) when you agree to pay, it doesn't work! ), they told us we had to inform them earlier on the problem and since we hadn't done that, they could not do a refund. Breakfast than... at the reception they told us breakfast was served between 8:30 and 10:30. We came at the beautiful breakfastroom, but after checking our room number, we were asked to go to another room were there was also a buffet. This room was an old, smelly conference room with TL lightning. On top of that they came to tell us at 9:45 that the buffet would be cleared within 5 minutes and that we had to hurry if we wanted anything more. Overall very disappointing after a perfect 2-weeks holiday on Andros, Naxos & Santorini were the hotel owners were very friendly, welcoming, the breakfast perfect & free wifi everywhere.
