The hotel is located in the Plaka section of Athens and is situated very nicely for walking and seeing the historical sites including the Acropolis, Temple of Zeus, Roman Agora, Ancient Agora, the National Gardens, Syntagma Square etc. There are plenty of tavernas, shops, and other restaurants within several blocks of the hotel and access to the main road at Syntagma square to get to a bus or taxi is only a couple minutes of walking. We stayed here 3 nights in March 2017. The hotel is compact with small rooms as should be expected but they are clean and have a small balcony overlooking the street and/or buildings below. Three of us fit just fine into one of the rooms and the bathroom/shower was clean and worked well. Just above the top floor of rooms is a small rooftop sitting area with nice views of the Acropolis that is accessible via a short flight of stairs. Besides the great location, the second most amazing thing about this hotel is the breakfast. The breakfast is included with the rooms and has a wonderful selection of foods from traditional Greek items, to meats, cheeses, eggs, bread, pastries, and cereals as well as coffee, tea, milk, and orange juice. While I'm usually not very impressed with hotel breakfasts, I thought this one is worth mentioning because for us, it was something worth looking forward to every morning. The staff of the hotel was friendly and helpful with any questions we had about the city and was very accommodating for us as a family with a 7 year old as well as with our request for having a taxi show up early to take us to the airport. I would definitely recommend staying here if you don't mind a compact floor plan and small rooms.
Location of this hotel is very good, walking distance to many places of interest in town. Fairly small hotel with a bit limited facilities, but room was nice and clean and balcony was great surprise with nice sunset view. Staff was friendly and breakfast was tasty. Worth of money for sure. From roof terrace you can see to Acropolis, but there is no service up there.
Excellent hotel! very good location, close to all the main attractions. The hotel staff were amazind and the service was excellent. the hotel was very clean, and the breakfast was good.Overall had a good experience. Thank you.
These folks really know how to go the extra mile to make everything perfect. Clean, great breakfast and they go out of their way to make sure your stay is wonderful. Highly recommend! Thank you Hermes Hotel!
A cozy hotel, great location. Breakfast and staff are great. We were upgraded to a nice room with a balcony. And above all the professionalism of the amazing: Eva, Oana, Margarita. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
The rooms were fantastic. They were beautiful, clean, spacious, very comfortable. Bathrooms were clean too, with plenty of hot water. Beds were comfortable, and there were real blankets on the beds (not the sheets we have in hotels in the states), plus extra blankets in the closets. Plenty of closer/dresser space, a fridge, and a safe. There were also excellent breakfasts every day - huge selection of food. Great customer service too.
Our experience at Hermes Hotel was exceptional! The location is phenomenal: many great restaurants around (we liked the Greco's project -- the chicken souvlaki was awesome) and it is easy walking distance to the acropolis (around 7 minutes to the main entrance). The breakfast was truly outstanding (their Greek yogurt with honey was the best that I have had anywhere), and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The highlight of our stay though was the service! We were traveling with our 4-month old baby girl and Eva and the breakfast staff kept her smiling and laughing all breakfast long, everyone was super nice and helpful whenever we had any needs or questions, they provided us breakfast at 4.30 when we had an early flight, and the desk staff offered us her personal umbrella to use when it was raining as all of the hotel's umbrellas were already in use. In a ratio of quality to price, you would be hard pressed to find a more exceptional hotel! I have no reservations recommending Hermes Hotel.
It just located at syntagma square. 5 mins walking distance fr hotel to Syn square. Lots of eatery and cafe along the way, and wat we like most was there are few Chinese restaurant closed! The family room was great, interconnected, really good for family wz kids or even friends ! Breakfast was adequate; very helpful and friendly staff. And thy did provide free coffee and snacks at hotel lobby from 10am-7pm ! Wifi not tat strong but doesn't matter. I would definitely recommend Hermes hotel to friends tat plan to travel to Athens.
Arrived after 11 pm at night due to our flight being late, received a very warm welcome from the Receptionist, we popped our bags in our room and came down for a chat about where we could find something to eat. The night porter had arrived by then and he recommended the White Horse just a few steps from our hotel. This was a basic restaurant with great food and very reasonably priced. Our room was nicely decorated and it had a huge balcony which we enjoyed in the morning. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choices fruit, scrambled eggs, toast, boiled eggs, pastries, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, fruit juice etc., breakfast was run by Eva who ensured everyone had a good comfortable nights rest and then acted as a travel guide to many of the customers, ourselves included with helpful maps and recommendations on how to reach you chosen destination. We will certainly return to the Hermes. Thank You
I came to Athens on a trip with my college and we stayed at the Hermes Hotel. What a wonderful place!! It was very clean and comfortable, and the shower was bigger than most Greek ones I've seen. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had to leave really early one morning to go to the airport, and they made sure that breakfast was available at 4am for nice. We had no complaints! Our stay was just delightful
