Coco Mat Nafsiki staff were very welcoming & helped us sort out our baggage drama efficiently The taxi driver John who they arranged was great and he gave us a brilliant short tour of the city whilst we returned a lost suitcase Good dinner recommendation by the staff in nearby Nafsika and really comfortable beds made our stay very pleasant. We loved the buffet breakfast & the stylish interior of the public areas
My friend and were visiting Athens for a wedding and chose this hotel as it was close to the venue. Perfect for shopping in Kifisia (3.5-5 Euro by taxi) and also for visiting city centre (we didn't have time for this). Kifisia is a quiet neighbourhood with a great shopping area with lots of shops and restaurants/coffee shops. At check-in I was given an upgrade to the suite on the 4th floor - lucky me! Gorgeous room with 4-poster bed, Jacuzzi bath with a view and a lovely balcony. Bed was really comfortable and I loved all the bath products which you can also buy. There is also a Nespresso machine, kettle and mini-bar in the room. We had a light dinner at the hotel, salmon salad and soup, both were lovely and prepared in the open kitchen which is a nice touch. Check out is 12pm and was smooth. All in all a very calm and pleasant stay. If I were visiting Athens again I would definitely consider staying here again and use the local trains to travel. Thank you Coco-Mat Hotel!!
So much thoughtfulness goes into this hotel - particularly loved the decor of the lounge area and the 'honesty bar' was a nice touch - that allowed us to have snacks and beverages at any time. Very lovely and friendly staff, beautiful lounge and restaurant atmosphere, the room was clean, comfortable and furnished with many of their beautiful homeware products. We will be back again next time we visit Athens!
My job takes me to many places, therefore many hotels, and to be honest travelling has become a chore rather than a pleasure. But coco mat took me back to my early days of travelling, it was fun! In fact it felt like I was on holiday, all because of a really unique approach to running a hotel, honesty bars, open plan, no reception desk, great food and perfect landscaping to hide you away from the city. Mind you, the area around is quite lovely too, an upmarket suburb of Athens. The rooms are simple, but clean and the beds are fabulous, I'm saving up for one right now. I must admit I tried out the pillow 'library' and ended up buying one to take home, hit me really funny looks at the airport.... Next time I'm in Athens I know exactly where I'm staying.
A very nice hotel in a quiet neighbourhood. Room was very clean and the bath very cleverly designed. Cocomat mattress and pillows provided a very good night sleep . Breakfast was more than OK, considering the fact that it is a boutique hotel (not a very big variety but everything was fresh and well prepared )
Wonderful boutique hotel not far from downtown. The dinner was spectacular and the grounds are well maintained. Would definitely come back for another stay, and would recommend this to anyone traveling to Athens.
I chose to stay here as I regularly travel to Athens for work and it is a convenient mid point between the airport and the city centre in a leafy suburb of Athens. A very comfortable bed and well appointed room and the tranquil surroundings of the hotel and its garden make this the ideal place to de-stress after a busy day in Athens. Not well situated for those wanting nightlife and instant access to the centre but an easy train hop to the centre avoiding the chaos of Athens traffic and close to a nice district (Kifisia) for smart restaurants, bars and shopping. Very helpful staff and great breakfast.
The facilities are amazing and the staff very kind! The bathroom could me more well designed to avoid water from the shower all around. The hotel in Nafsika is far from the center but there is a metro station closeby.
We are a family of 4 and the hotel was just right for us. This hotel is an oasis of calmness. It's on a back road so after a busy day sightseeing we knew we would come back to a quiet, peaceful hotel. This is primarily a business hotel but we felt at ease in our holiday attire. Our youngest is 17 so we didn't have the problem of trying to keep very young children quiet. We arranged transport to/from the hotel from the hotel's website. Yannis was our driver (very polite) and met us at the airport (40 Euros one way). Plus Points (in no particular order): 1) Breakfast: yogurt, honey, different artisan breads, coffee machine (capsules), teas, freshly squeezed orange, lemonade (handmade), various cakes, pastries (mainly cheese with or without spinach), various seeds, flakes, dried berries.. Eggs made to order (fried, omelette, poached, soft or hard boiled) 2) Honesty Bar: we just had to write down what we had from the bar on a paper slip with our room number 3) Beds/pillows - At home we have a premium bed and miss it when away. However, the beds here are THE BEST EVER. We have never had a better sleep in any hotel. You can buy the beds/mattresses but they are expensive. 4) Staff - were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, and printed off maps/routes when asked - nothing was too much trouble 5) Trains - Quick and convenient. Nearest station is KAT (about 7-8 mins walk), next nearest is Kifissia (about 15 mins walk). Using trains was very easy. and it is about 40 minutes into the centre of Athens. We bought a 5-day ticket (9 Euros) which covers trains, trams and buses. Trams are the slowest but we just built that time into our schedule for the day. 6) Shopping/Eating - Indoor, air-conditioned shopping mall at Neratziotissa, just two stops from KAT and less than 10 minutes ride Minus Points: 1) Beach - The beach is a long train and tram journey away. The best beaches are at Voula and Varkisa and it takes about 90 minutes to get there. 2) Wouldn't recommend for people looking for nightlife close by. 3) No sea view as it's in a suburb 4) Hotel is close to an upmarket area. Nice restaurants and shops in Kifissia so prices are higher than average. However, as the train is close by, it's easy to find lower-cost places further down the line or in central Athens. 5) Basement room at front - Roomy but noisier than our room on the second floor as it's under the entrance so there is some noise from people walking on the stairs and talking. If you are a good sleeper though then this should not bother you.
I booked this hotel by mistake, thinking I was booking the hotel inside Athens. Loved this hotel when we got there. It's unobtrusively located in a wealthy residential area. Is a boutique hotel. Very modem looking rooms. Lovely lobby where you can relax, have coffee and snacks, dinner and breakfast - we had the last three. Is too far from the city to go by taxi (€35 each way), but the train station is only a 5 minute walk away. Anegative is that the wifi is slow. Would stay here again if I visited Athens.
