Not worth the price.very small room.Elevator is only for one person.Location it’s close to sightseeing but not clean full of rubbish and begger.poor breakfast. Its not 4 stars supposed to be 3 stars. My room window open to rundown building .
A newly refurbished boutique hotel with 17 rooms. Located 100 meters from Monastiraki Sq, which means that you are located within walking distance of the most happening places in central Athens. Helpful staff. Breakfast was nice. No provision for in-house lunch/ dinner. Bar closes at 8.00 pm. But who bothers about these ___ there are umpteen and more choices within walking distance which serve amazing ouzo and kebabs. The 7th floor terrace is open for amazing ( almost close-up) views of the Acropolis / Parthenon. Take your own drink, glasses and water for a splendid evening. Downsides were a really cramped WC Area (boutique hotel !!) and various levels to negotiate in the bedroom area (again perhaps due to refurbishment of an old property), Can be a problem for a senior citizen/ one not pre-warned esp at nighttime
My wife and I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our honeymoon. It is in a great location - not too far from the Acropolis and very close to the busy squares and fun bars/restaurants. Big room with a very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. We really enjoyed our stay.
We stayed here for a night to quickly see Athens after visiting the islands for 2 weeks. The hotel is in a perfect location- a quick 5 minute walk from the metro station and central to restaurants and major sites. We stayed in the room with a view to the Acropolis, which was beautiful to see during the day and at night. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. Even though we check out and our flight wasn’t until late in the evening, they allowed us to utilize the spa facilities to shower after a hot sweaty day sightseeing- very much appreciated!
Fantastic hotel, fantastic location!! The Athens lodge had all the amenities of a 5 star resort but with a chic, modern twist. While on a busy and bustling street, the rooms were incredibly quiet. There was AC, a mini fridge to keep groceries cold if you choose to buy some and ample space to keep our clothes. The location itself couldn’t have been better - bars, authentic Taverna restaurants, and major sites - all walking distance. We didn’t use public transportation at all! Another huge perk of this hotel was the breakfast. Included in the price, you get a full assortment of Items. From Greek salad and cheeses, to charcuterie cold cuts, eggs (prepared poached, hard boiled, scrambled), bacon, sausage, Greek yogurt, assorted fruits and granola/muesli; fresh juices, pastries and coffee. Lastly, the customer service is great. They arranged for taxi transport to and from the airport at a fixed price of 30 euros. This is cheaper than going through a random taxi on the street as we were warned they rip tourists off with the meter. All in all we had a great stay and will definitely be back when we return to Athens.
The Athens Lodge is conveniently located near the M3 metro line which runs directly to the airport. There are also wonderful restaurants within easy walking distance. Our breakfast buffet included freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious pastries, fruit, eggs and bacon. Although our room was small and the bathroom lacked counter space, the bed was very comfortable. We also had a partial view of the Acropolis. Hotel staff members were attentive and professional. The front desk agent was especially kind and helpful. The only drawbacks were the small elevator (stairs available) and the oddly configured shower (with shaded window to the main room). The location and kind staff easily made up for these shortcomings. Would definitely stay here again!
Great hotel. Walking distance to the major attractions we wanted to see. Great breakfast, comfortable bed, great shower small bathroom. Very helpful staff, they arranged all transportation for us from the airport and port. Great hotel for the price.
As frequent visitors of Athens we have used the same hotel for many years and only came upon this one since our regular hotel was fully booked. It was a great discovery. Located in our favorite neighborhood, Psiri, this intimate, clean, wonderfully maintained hotel is a great place to stay in the city that really never sleeps. Even the shower, that tends to be tricky in this area as to water pressure and temperature was great. At a very reasonable price for the location. The only downside for me was the tiny elevator that forced me to take the stairs to the fifth floor but if you’re not claustrophobic you’re good.
By looking at Google Maps street view the area looked a little run down and sketchy. But those must be old pics. The area has come a long way and is now a cozy and friendly area that I was very happy to stay. Plus its a very short walk to Monastiraki Square, the Metro station, and the Acropolis. Definitely a central location. There are multiple restaurants, shops, and dessert cafes nearby. Down the street there is a commercial bakery, which means you awake to the delicious smells of breads and pastries baking. Next door is a very photogenic "Mary Poppins" dessert café with outside lights, decorations, and costumed characters outside. The hotel itself is very new, clean, and just the right amount of funky charm. The reception is 24 hours and always ready with reliable information or recommendations. The breakfast is everything you'd expect for a European morning meal. The only downside was the breakfast server woman was not very friendly and wouldn't even acknowledge the guests. But I can't lower my ratings based on one employee. I'd definitely stay here again.
We really liked the Athens Lodge! It has clean lines and well organized rooms. We had everything we needed...breakfast, quick access to subway, and an interesting area around the hotel to explore. Well situated if you want to get to the hotel by subway from the airport or anywhere on the Red Line. We enjoyed two of the nearby restaurants and were not disappointed. Pics are from the area nearby hotel.
