This was a pleasant surprise. The hotel is made to look like a fancy lodge. The inside was beautiful. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. The room had a ceiling fan that made such a difference. We were so comfortable and the staff was so kind. There is a nice little green area behind the hotel that has a waterfall. We'll be staying there again when we go back to visit.

Lodge is nicely furnished but dark and dated. My room smelled of cigars and woodsmoke (?)which means someone broke the rules but housekeeping should have communicated this to the front desk and they could have kept the room out of the rental cycle and treated the smell. Some rolled towels were obviously left in the room from previous guests but someone had wiped dirty hands on them. Ugh.

While enjoying an unbelievable breakfast outside by the waterfall, chipmunks were playing and birds were singing, giving us a feeling that we were in a Disney movie! The grounds were impeccable, the staff was friendly, the free breakfast was incredibly delicious, the room was clean and comfortable, and the decor and design gave us all a feeling that we were in a MUCH more expensive hotel. The lodge felt like a $600 a night experience!! I’ll DEFINITELY be back!

It's not often you stay at a hotel where the staff makes you feel so welcome and so appreciated. The Lodge at Flat Rock does that like no other place I've stayed before. You feel like you're visiting family, not a hotel. Personable staff that care, on top of a beautifully appointed and maintained establishment make The Lodge the place to stay when you're in Western North Carolina.

The moment we walked through the front door we said "Wow". The lady at the front desk was a joy and very helpful. Our room was ready and immaculate and very comfortable. The grounds are beautiful. We sat by the fireplace in the evening and had a good time w some other guests. Breakfast was delicious. My wife and I started talking about our next visit.
