The Beaucatcher – A Boutique Motel

This property was advertised as a "boutique" motel, with "all" fully refurbished rooms having lounges chairs, a patio or private balcony. Our room had none of these. We would have been OK with the room (though disappointed that the website misrepresented itself) until we found the room rundown and dirty. I'm not sure what refurbishment was done other than some paint and a bed runner? The bathroom door did not close, the telephone did not work and the towels were dirty (found a clump of hair in a hand towel) . The grounds (except for the cute courtyard) were rundown and in disrepair. Once we realized that there was nothing boutique about this hotel, we politely requested to check out since the pictures on the website misrepresented both the rooms and grounds. We were told we would be penalized one night. So we stayed one night and then checked out the next day. We were switched to another room (again no chairs or patio/balcony), again the bathroom door did not close and it took us a while to find the TV remote (it was under the bed). Again the room was not clean. The breakfast the next morning was sub-par (poor quality). I'd be less critical of this hotel if the pictures more accurately reflected the property and a buyer knew what they were actually getting and the name boutique ("small stylish upscale hotel") was not in the name.

Loved the dispensers in the shower. Court yard was awesome.

The Boutique Motel was more or less a standard hotel with some colorful curtains and some good smelling shower gel/shampoo. Breakfast was nice though with a wide variety of food and drinks. Sitting area in the courtyard can be quite noisy when guests stay late.

it was cozy and very relaxing and the scenery was beautiful

turned pool into patio... unique and appealling... needs a bit more renovation:)

This hotel was not quite walkable to downtown but very close. They had a decent breakfast offered on the morning. The rooms were recently remodeled but could have been a little cleaner especially in the bathroom. Overall, a very good value for as close to downtown as it is.

The motel was excellent. It was as simple as motels come and it was modern and asthetically well put together. There is a cute court yard that might be fun in the spring and the beds were pretty comfortable. The bathroom could have been cleaner but other than that, it was perfect. The free breakfast was simple and good and the local coffee was excellent. The staff was beyond polite and make running a motel look easy.

Nice location. Older motel style building renovation. Back side of motel looks like a scene from the Bates Motel. Very sceptical looking in the back. The check in time is 3pm. That means 3pm not 242 or 2:59. Stuck sink drain a known problem and never fixed. The kicker for me was no flexibility when checking in however, was rushed out at 9:42 when manager and cleaning crew busted in room without knocking and stood in room while we were getting dressed and said "they said you checked out already ". There were only 2 staffera working and both were inside my room while i was getting dressed.

Great location from downtown. Not a lot of frills but clean and reason

The hotel room was very comfortable and clean. The Wi-Fi did not work which was an issue since I was traveling for business. There were really no amenities available. The hotel was located just out of downtown and an affordable option to most of the pricier Hotels downtown. However, it is off a main road so traffic noise should be a concern for light sleepers. The property also has a separate building that was vacant and boarded up. For the price, it was what I expected. However, I am not sure I would stay there again.

Front desk staff very nice. Bed was comfortable. Room had a musty smell. In room phone did not work.

The front desk girl was welcoming and professional. The room was good for price.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Beaucatcher. Helpful staff, good breakfast, gorgeous patio area, and convenient location. We will definitely stay here again!

This is supposed to be an upgraded building. The word boutique should not be used to describe this motel as it is very deceiving. The whole bathroom had an odor. The door did not close properly and to top it all off the beds were so uncomfortable no sleep was had. You can hear all the traffic from the road and adjacent is a dug up worksite. For the price we paid we expected a much better standard. The breakfast was also very limited. On a positive note the staff we encountered were very pleasant. Also positive was the convenience to downtown but if you dont intend to go there find another plz e to sleep.

Upon arrival there were cigarettes littered out in front of our room. Even though the room was not smoking, the entire room smelled of it. We were there for our anniversary, and my wife has asthma and could not stay in the room. We left 20 minutes later explaining it was not adequate or clean and could not stay there for health reasons, upon which we were told only the manager could clear a refund and they would call us the next day. We never received a call, instead we were charged full price for a filthy smoke filled room we did not stay in. We then called - and it was not until 4 days later we were finally able to reach the manager. The manager argued that "she could not control what others did in the room when we explained why we left and the smoke. Talk about not taking responsibility for your property you manage. After much debate, she said she would refund our charge and it would go through in 24 hours and to call her if it didn't. You guessed it - we did not receive the refund. When we called back to check as we were instructed, she was very condescending and said "well I have done my part so take it up with your bank" and hung up on my wife. We finally received our refund a week after this entire fiasco. The complete and utter lack of professionalism was ASTOUNDING. Do not stay here - do not bring your family. There are much better options in Asheville.

A nice place, Close to everything. But, the maid service was not good. Also, the courtyard area allows the night owls to sit around and talk till 1 or 2 in the morning. It kept us up at night.

Warm and welcoming staff and nice continental breakfast.

Hotel was is in a good location; in between the mall and downtown- about $6 Uber fair to downtown. Overall the room was clean, although there was a large spider web in the corner. I would only recommend this hotel to someone who is looking for a low-cost overnight stay.

Mr. Smith, our check in time is 3:00pm. When and if we can, we may try to accommodate an early check in request, but most of the time it is not possible. We apologize if for any reason you felt rushed to check out or if any staff accidentally walked in on you. Our check out time is 12 noon and it is never our practice to barge in on a guest or to make anyone vacate prior to check out.
