We stayed here for a few nights while in Arequipa, it was a no-frills hotel but had a nice location, friendly staff and we had large clean room with quite a large rooftop patio. The continental breakfast was fairly basic, but I would recommend venturing out to some of the nearby restaurants to enjoy the local cuisine instead.
Stayed for two nights on our trip round Peru. This hotel is very well located just a very short 10-15 walk from the main square in Arequipa. It felt quite safe to walk to and from hotel even at night. Being part of an extensive Peruvian chain of hotels the rooms and hotel areas all have a very standard layout and feel but this I feel is a positive as you really only use the hotel for sleeping and breakfast when doing a tour. The rooms and public areas were all well maintained and clean and staff were all really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a buffet style with a very good selection of both hot and cold foods. Eggs could also be ordered freshly prepared if one wished. The hotel has a rooftop terrace which has great views over the city and also of El Misti the active volcano that dominates the skyline. All in all a very satisfactory place to stay and can be recommended.
The Andina hotel group specializes in mid price hotels. It is frequently used by tour groups and it was booked through my agency. It is rated as a 3 star hotel. I was not pleased with my stay in Arequipa Classic for the following reason: 1- the location is rather far from the historic center. It is 6 blocks, while many good 3 stars hotels ( or better) are available within 2 or 3 blocks of the historic city center. It might be less convenient for the tours company cars/ busses to go more into the center. But for individual travelers it is much better. 2-internet is a simple disaster. They have a slow free service or a paid faster service. I tried both. None worked, neither on IPhone or IPad. After involvement of several people at reception, i got a day password, which worked for an hour. Later I gave up. 3- I got room 201, checked in by Patricia, it is on first floor, directly on the street. The street is ancient stones and cars make a lot of noice. It was very very noisy. Although I did an on time check-in she gave me the worst room. Because I am a solo traveller ? I hate hotels who first try to fill up the bad rooms. So bad customer service. I asked her angrily the next day, but no answer. They offered me dinner in the hotel as compensation, but I prefer paying for a good meal than having dinner there with the touring groups. I refused politely. I would not recommend this hotel for individual travelers, looking for a central location and staff that cares about the guests. Much much better is available in Arequipa. Arequipa is a great city to visit. So many things to see, and really nice restaurants. I will come back, but not in Andina Hotel.
This hotel seems to have been renovated, it smelt of paint in our room. The room we had on the second floor was small, had nowhere to put your bags. Small bathroom, double bed, not queen. The windows opened up to other rooms with a car park directly opened beneath these rooms. At night it was extremely loud with people talking, cars arriving and leaving. Found it very difficult to sleep with all the noise. It is about 1 kilometer from the square, which have shops and a large park for sitting full of pigeons. Very pretty.
Another trip to Arequipa and another stay at the Casa Andina Classic. My team has been using this hotel for several years for its cost and location. It is not fancy, but for a place to lay your head after a long day it is all you can ask for in a hotel. The breakfast is included and is a great way to start your day. This trip found some construction in the hotel with an elevator under repair. The staff is always pleasant and attentive. In Casa Andina speak "Classic" is the more budget friendly line of hotel. If you are looking for a more elegant stay check out the upscaled offerings in the city. I will be back as they cover all my basics in a pleasant and professional location.
The hotel is well situated in walking distance of the town centre. It is much like others in the chain and offers clean and comfortable surroundings and a good buffet breakfast. Wifi is free in communal areas and each floor offers a small lounge area ot relax in and drink the complimentary Coca tea.
I had a nice size room with a comfy bed. The plug in the sink let all the water through, only a shower, no bath and no wifi in the room. Just a short walk to the town square which had plenty of shops and restaurants
The location of the hotel is easy walking distance to main squire, attraction and restaurants etc. The staff were excellent and nothing to much trouble. Seemed to be very safe area at night to walk around.
The service is great, all the staff is very kind. The room is very confortable with a great view of the mainsquare. The building is very modern and we had a lovely breakfast. It's great the location and I had a great time.
After having undertaken a 12 hour drive to get here, it was a welcome sight. We stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour and found the hotel to very comfortable and conveniently located. Service was impeccable and help with our luggage was only call away. The food in the restaurant was very good and there was a great variety for breakfast.
