Beautiful setting, comfortable, cozy house— like staying with an old friend who made the special effort to make us feel at home. I like to cook and the open kitchen allowed for others to join in and while not ‘state’ of the art, the equipment was well stocked and organized including a full set of SHARP knives!

Not recommended

This listing doesn’t give the full version of the home. I wish I could add photos. It is 2 separate houses with the doorway between the 2. The doors to the rooms don’t lock. My kids couldn’t sleep because they were in a separate house from my husband and I. Most of the doors are pocket doors and accordion doors. The master bath doesn’t lock. We had ants on the countertops. A plant is growing through the wall in one spot. Several windows don’t open because the handle to twist is broken off. The heat is all baseboard heaters. They have a rug covering a large drain between the 2 “houses”. Only has 1 TV and it is in the kids part of the home. Absolutely no WiFi service at all. We had to exit the house to send a text. They said there’s WiFi but when we logged on it would say no service. There were several other WiFi options called pilot house and avant- stay back up but we weren’t allowed to use those. The house isn’t on the beach. It’s above the beach on a cliff. We couldn’t tell that from the photos. However the entrance is 1/4 block down the street so it’s very close. I just wish I knew it wasn’t sitting on the beach like I thought. The beach is very rocky and has some sand after all the rocks at low tide. High tide it is all rocks. I wouldn’t stay here again.

Family reunion

Mom and four adult children reunited for the weekend at this wonderful beach house. We were so comfortable! The walk to the beach is very short, the views out the windows are spectacular!

We want to come back every year!

This was a perfect spot for my girlfriends and I to get away. The ocean right out the window amazing, of course, and easy to walk down to the sand! The kitchen was very well-stocked with quality cookware and dishes and the entire home was clean and comfortable. We loved having the wood stove for our cozy puzzle evenings (lots of great puzzles and games). And the location was perfect...a quiet part of the coast tucked between fun and casual Rockaway and the upscale Cannon Beach shops and galleries. We did it all! Thank you for providing a haven for our rejuvenation.

Sweet Ocean Retreat

Friends celebrating turning 60! The Pilot House was perfect. Enough space for us as well as great views of ocean tides inside and outside. Watched the moon rise off the ocean and sunset. Great walking beach. Everything you need to cook dinner was available. Highly recommend The Pilot House

Coziest Beach House, Perfect Location

While the wind blasted off of the ocean just outside our back door, my family and I stayed warm and cozy in this perfectly outfitted beach house. We enjoyed the amazing views, comfy beds, closet full of games and puzzles, well-equipped kitchen, and overall charm and vibes of this special house! The location is a quiet neighborhood perfectly placed between Manzanita and Cannon Beach. We hiked at nearby Oswald West State Park and used the little trail a block away to access the beach. Everything was clean when we arrived, the AvantStay team was very responsive, and check-out process was a breeze. We will definitely be back!

Not to be missed (Reviewed by Husband)

Remember a time when drywall wasn't an option, and wall coverings were wood?. Well enjoyed. Such a special offering this place was sentimental and comfortable. I would definitely would love to go back, Our three teenagers even liked it (I think) First of all there was firewood and the firewood was a treat to use. It was fully seasoned and the fireplace made me feel like a king. A Blaze King! I would love to know who manufactures the bath as I want to put one in my house, and the Kitchen sink is a pleasure to use.; I also want to put in my house that I am currently building. Our family even finished a puzzle. I wanted to frame it! But we put it back to be enjoyed by another. The beach was good but the house was great.

Best View in Arch Cape

This house is charming. It’s efficient and well maintained but a renter doesn’t even notice that because the views are among the absolute best on that beach. Beach access is a breeze and everything is comfortable for the whole family.

Relaxing family getaway

This is an amazing home at the perfect location: sort of a Goldilocks property. It’s the right size and the beach access is very close. Arch Cape is a small town so the beach is not too crowded but close to both Cannon Beach and Manzanita. This is our new favorite coastal rental.

Very clean, ON the beach, beautiful sunset. Great house, manager was very good with getting us information. I love Arch Cape area, you can hear the waves from the house. My only draw back is the neighbors are 6 feet away... the windows on the side are looking into their window

Wonderful weekend!

Wonderful location. Out of the hustle and bustle of the beach towns but easy enough to get to. Just a block from the beach access. Love being able to look out the windows and see the ocean. Clean and comfortable house. Love all the pictures and maps on the wall. We will be back!

Beautiful incredibly well furnished home with stunning views

The house is setup with two distinct sides that would easily accommodate two families. There is table seating for twelve, and this is the best stocked kitchen I have experienced with any home lodging. From muffin tins to pancake griddles, to shellfish utensils and place settings for fifteen easily, the items were quality pieces and made for great home cooked meals. Between the seven of us, we never ran out of hot water for showers and the bathrooms are lovely. I would only ask that there be lights to illuminate the drive. Thankfully, the home is right at the T-intersection, however, lights would have made for an easier and more welcoming arrival. The views are to die for, the bits of history in prints and maps throughout are very interesting. WiFi worked well, TV (if your kids can’t live without it) worked well also. Bedding, towels, pillows are all plentiful and good quality. Blue tooth speaker for background music while dining, playing board games, or just sitting together taking in the view was a great touch. We had a wonderful stay, thank you!

Warm and Cozy in Winter

This was the perfect place for our family of four (college-aged kids) to relax together away from "it all" for the week before Christmas. Everything about the house was cozy and welcoming. The owner's attention to detail couldn't be better: an amazingly well-outfitted kitchen, logs and matches by the woodstove, pillows and sofa throws spread about, comfortable mattresses, and a deep, quick-filling bath tub. The beach is a half-block away public access, but that wasn't a problem. Because of the tide schedule, most of our walks were up at Cannon Beach, anyway. Note: we liked the map on the north wall of the livingroom area so much, we ordered it for our daughter for Christmas!
