Cozy resort cottage, 1 bedroom plus queen sleeper sofa or 2 more twin trundle beds. Sleeps 4, 4 twins or 2 twins and a queen. Access to miles of private Lake Michigan Beach, just a 5 min walk, and a easy 100 yard walk to our private beach, dock and boat house deck on Lower Herring Lake.
Free stand up paddleboards and kayaks included with your stay.
We are right on Lower Herring Lake which is adjacent to Lake Michigan.

This place was perfection!

Holly is the best, so sweet and very responsive. The cottages are adorable and very clean. Ours was right on the Lake Herring and it was so nice to look out over the lake. It's within easy walking distance to Lake Michigan and the beach there is fabulous. We found many Petoskey stones, which was a real treat. There are great hikes nearby and I'd highly recommend Birch and Maple restaurant in nearby Frankfort. we had a wonderful, relaxing time. Hope to make it back there!

Great escape cottage

We were happily surprised to find that the "Studio 1" cottage surpassed are expectations. Studio 1 refers to the fact that the cottage was originally built for music; it is a one bedroom cottage with full though small kitchen. The cottage is quiet, cute and clean. Holly and "the colonel" were fabulous hosts. Friendly, communicative and available. Holly responded quickly to questions in advance of our booking and stay. On site, we used the "request" list to ask for a frying pan only to come home a few hours later to find the pan in our kitchen. Truly wonderful people. The location is very special. The Duncan cottages and the adjacent Watervale Inn and Cottages are old in the best sense of the work. Old school charm and casual summer sophistication. Little Herring Lake is your front yard. Lake Michigan is your next door neighbor. Miles of hiking trails is your backyard. We had a blast on lakes, trails and dunes. And just laying about on outdoor furniture located all over the grounds. And if you don't feel like cooking, the Watervale Inn provides take out dinners of multiple courses that are fresh and delicious. We needed nothing more than we found at Studio 1. We have bookmarked this one as our favorite Michigan getaway. Arcadia and Duncan cottages - Thank you!
