We stayed here for two nights just before Christmas to go to a concert in Antwerp. The room was clean and comfortable. We did not have any problems and would stay here again due to its location. Easy walk to tram stop and 5 minutes from the concert venue. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Everything is dirty or old. A lot of noise from the highway and the rooms next to you. There where stains on the pillows the shower was dirty there where stains on the toilet seat. I would not recommend this to anyone
My wife and daughter booked two nights in this hotel. The room was dirty, the towels were broken, blood was on the wall, black marks in the bath tube and yellow between tiles. There was more. They left after the first night. Some photos to understand better.
I stay in loads of bad hotels and never really bother to review them but I'll make an exception for this place as it seems to think it's actually an OK hotel. I got into the room at about 2.30am and immediately noticed it stank of damp with a side order of blocked drains. The man at reception had already fuddled around for about half an hour sorting our rooms out so I thought ah well, I'll just put up with it, I can't be bothered getting it changed. After getting ready for bed (and noticing the sheet for the duvet was both torn at the top and far too small at the bottom) I walked to the bathroom and noticed the floor in over half the room was damp. I'm choosing to believe someone flooded the shower at this point but it could just've easily been the toilet. The room was freezing with only a 1970s heater in the corner (set to off, of course, in late November). In the morning despite the DND sign being on the door, housekeeping bustled in as usual; the hairdryer didn't work; the bathroom fan, despite being on all the time and with no way of turning it off, proved to be totally useless when actually needed. To top it off when I told the receptionist about the room he basically told me I should've told them last night (couldn't be bothered) and expressed zero contrition. He didn't even note the room number down, even though I also told him a socket was hanging out of the wall in the bathroom (potentially dangerous). If you run this hotel, you are in the wrong business - please stop, for all our sakes.
Stayed here with friends and found the air freshener smell in the corridors to be overpowering and in some cases it felt like it was being used to cover up less welcoming smells. One of our group even commented that it wasa bit like a Porta-Loo liquid smell. The hotel is looking tired and dated and our room appeared to need repainting too. We did not make use of the bar or restaurant area so cannot comment on these facilities. Car parking was a bit of an issue and it was also noted that the space for disabled drivers was small and a wheelchair user would struggle to get out of their car.
This hotel well situated needs a refurbishment. In the hallways and staircases the hotel has installed air-freshener machines. This means it smells very strong everywhere. I suspect there is a reason for this action which could be that the hotel has problems with the inner climate in the building. In my bathroom the ceiling was black and coming off due to fungus. See photo. I am happy only to stay one night as I was not feeling good afterwards. For people with lung problems this could be a bad experience. The staff was nice and breakfast was okay but this can’t save this stay.
a side road hotel , on our way back from paris we have stopped for a night - service given was medium and breakfast was quite good our room given was cleaned and comfort - however just too bad the the hotel was over priced
The staff were very helpful and friendly and the restaurant food was tasty at a reasonable price. Our room was clean ( turning left from the elevator on the second floor) but as we approached it we were met by a smell of drains -unpleasant! We chose this hotel as it was outside the emission zone. It was a five minute walk to the nearest tram stop. This method of travel is good value in Belgium.
We enjoyed our overnight stay at this hotel which was good value. Our room was clean and quiet. On checking in, the young man on reception was very polite and efficient. The outdoor car park is spacious and easy to access and has further parking at the rear of hotel. We ate in the bar and the food was nice. The hotel is on the outskirts of the city centre but tram nearby or approximately 10 minutes taxi ride away. The weather was warm and sunny and it was nice sitting at the tables and chairs on the outdoor patio area. Unable to comment on breakfast as did not have this here. The staff were very friendly and polite and made us feel welcome. We will definitely stay there again.
My husband and I visited Antwerp in March 2017, and stayed at Tulip Inn for 1 night. Luckily, we have traveller around Belgium and did not need to stay in this hotel longer than that because we would not enjoy having a room we had for more than 1 night. The Reception area is fine and the staff was quite welcoming and informing, told us where to find a tram to go to the city and that it is best to leave the car in car par next to the hotel as parking in Antwerp costs enormouns amount of money, not worth driving to the city at all. The room was small, carpet on the floor outdated, not clean and with stains and burns from cigarette. Moreover, the room had a smell of dirty stuff and we could not figure out where it was coming from! Later on that day we identified that the dirty clothes/ socks and old & dirty T-shirt was hidden inside the soft chair (which looked like a square bean bag), it was disgusting! Bathroom was very old and tired, somewhere tiles were chipped and the whole look was soooo old and not looked after... Disappointing! The only good point about this hotel is the parking next to it and extra pillows in the wardrobe, WI FI and thats it. I cannot recommend this hotel for the above mentioned reasons and would not go back but no means. Yes, it was a budget stay but cleaning is the priority in any accommodation, we were shocked seeing what we have seen.
