We enjoyed our stay at this boutique hotel. The location is a quick walk to Amalfi (through the tunnel if it's raining) and there is a nice little beach in walking distance as well. Most days we walked to Amalfi and would catch a ferry or small boat to another beach or to Positano. We had a rental car, but after driving from Naples on the very windy, narrow roads, we were happy not to drive again until our departure. Pros: Room was clean and bright. Staff was very friendly and spoke English. The porter carried our bags up the many steps for us. Location near Amalfi was great. Rooftop terrace was lovely and they would deliver drinks to the terrace if you called down. The excursion provided through the hotel to Pompeii was excellent. Cons: Our Air Conditioning turned off every evening. We would manually reset the breaker in the room and that would fix the issue most nights. Other nights we had to call to the front desk and have them fix it. One night they were unable to help. Parking was VERY confusing. We had to call three times to figure out where to meet the porter and valet. It was at the beach below the main road. Self parking in the garage would have been much easier in hindsight. No fitness center. Overall, this was a great spot as a base to explore the coast. Atrani had a few cute restaurants and Amalfi offered much to enjoy. Don't choose this hotel or frankly many others if you cannot do stairs.
Pros: Palazzo Ferraioli is a really nice hotel in Atrani. I highly recommend staying here and away from Amalfi and Positano where most of the tourists end up. It's a small little town with amazing people. Walking distance to the beach, Amalfi and great restaurants. A quick bus ride away from Ravello, etc. Cons: The breakfast options were a little limited for vegetarians, but still good. There's no elevator to reach the hotel. So if you're staying here, pack light otherwise you'll have to climb a LOT of stairs with baggage which was really tiring. We upgraded to a partial sea view room and we would definitely come back! Thanks for a great stay and being so hospitable.
The hotel has been quirkily renovated and has some nice features. We upgraded to a deluxe room with sea views and its own Jacuzzi, which after the drive from Naples airport and a stop at Pompei was something to look forward to. Regrettably, after arriving and fully unpacking, the Jacuzzi did not work. Things like this obviously go wrong from time to time and we were offered an alternative room next door which was very similar. But we were fully unpacked with everything in wardrobes, cupboards, bathroom, and we were in robes, so not exactly ideal and quite an upheaval. New room was OK and the Jacuzzi worked, but our luxury stay had not got off to a great start. "Never mind I thought, at these prices I am sure the hotel will be professional enough to compensate us with a complimentary drink at the bar etc?" Sadly, no gesture of any kind was ever made. The staff are all very friendly, smiley and helpful and I can see why it has received such good reviews - we were perhaps unfortunate that things did not work out for us, but nobody at the hotel had the courtesy or awareness to recognise that their luxury service had fallen short!. As nice as this hotel is, our experience will not see us return.
Like the hotel and the service. Their elevator was kind of slow though. Make sure you call prior to going there so someone can help you to locate it and help with the bags. Beautiful view of the harbor though from the hotel. Nice jazzuci on top of the hotel and an amazing spa.
We stayed two nights while in Atrani and it was the best part of our trip to the Amalfi Coast. The ladies behind the desk even helped us rent a boat from Andrea's boat rentals so we could boat on the Mediterranean coast. The room was lovely and clean. Each room was themed on a celebrity ours was Demi Moore (401). The room was quiet when we had the balcony open, not a lot of noise as we were up pretty high and a great view of the little town and the water. Great shower. There's also a solarium (rooftop bar) with great views, dining tables, and beds to lay out and tan. 5 minute walk to the water but I will warn: there are a lot of steps to get up before you get to the lobby and the elevator. The whole town is built on a hill and its about 1/3 of the way up the town. If you aren't very mobile I'm not sure this is the one for you. I'm 28 in decent shape and was puffing a little by the time we got up to the lobby from the beach. That's the only con though.
This hotel is the absolute best. We decided to stay here after I looked at places to stay in the Amalfi Coast and read that Atrani was a must see place. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff in extremely professional and helpful. It is very contemporary and you could get a really nice view from the rooms. My favorite thing here was the terrace. It has the best 360 degree view of atrani, you could order drinks there and relax. They also do small weddings here. I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed. Also, pro tip: you could ask the hotel to bring the luggage up for you so you don't have to climb up the steps with it.
We enjoyed the quieter Atrani to the Craziness of Amalfi. Our room was great! Location and cleanliness. The breakfast was fine and we didn't use any of the spa services. I do have one major complaint. I don't think I slept well one night there. The bed was awful and the pillow was worse. I woke up sore and the pillow basically gave me a headache every time my head touched it. The staff was awesome and the location can't be beat. We did use the expensive $130 transfer from Naples but I didn't feel like screwing with a bus or other transportation. The drive up and over the mountain did a number on my nerves but I'll let you discover that for yourself. We aren't beach people but did swim everyday. We ate and drank in Atrani and Amalfi which is just a short walk around the bend.
Atrani is beautiful and only a short walk from Amalfi. You have to climb a number of steps to get to the hotel but Carlos, the friendly concierge, will help you with your bags for a couple of Euros. The rooms are clean and the views are magnificent. I would advise that you book your own taxi if you need one as the hotel booked us a very overpriced executive car when we asked for a taxi.
This hotel was far better than expected. It's located in Atranti about 50 steps up from a gorgeous beach. Atrani is an adorable Amalfi coast town with far less tourists than its neighbor Amalfi. Palazzo Ferraioli has excellent, helpful customer service. The bell man, Carlos, carried all 8 of our bags down the steps to our car at the end of our stay. Antonio helped us bring them up at the beginning. One of the front desk women gave us a fantastic dinner suggestion in Ravello that we thoroughly enjoyed (El Savatore). There is free breakfast in the mornings. Plenty of good food including meats, cheeses, eggs, fruits, pastries, juices, and coffee, to get your day started. Our room was gorgeous with a jacuzzi and panoramic view of the mountain and sea. It was also very clean. The only down side was that our king sized bed was very firm, too firm, and the 1 pillow left a lot to be desired. The rooftop is spectacular. You won't want to leave the view there either. The roof is lined with lounge chairs and a few tables/chairs to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are also 2 hot tubs on the roof as well as bar access. Overall this hotel is excellent! My boyfriend and I would definitely stay again. Our 4 nights in Atrani were absolutely amazing!
The Hotel was quiet and comfortable; however we found it difficult to carry two heavy suitcases up 82 steps uphill to the hotel. The room was lovely, great sea views. The breakfast was very good too. The steps were a killer!
